Hi Natalie and welcome. I think that since you have an estimated guest list count and budget, the next move is to figure out what events you want to host. All-inclusives are very popular on this board because they allow you to host multiple events at a much lower cost than say, doing all of the events at separate venues (which is what we're doing.) there are loads of options out there and everyone here is very helpful, so ask away!

Compared to what Elena is charging, those prices seem very reasonable.

I love Isla Mujares. It's so quaint and beautiful. here are some great photos from a wedding there http://www.jcsphoto.com/client/feb4sneakpeek

Rosy Castro from Lovely weddings quoted me the following yesterday: Quote: 1.30 minutes 750 dlls 2 minutes 950 dlls 3 minutes 1150 dlls I couldn't believe how much cheaper she quoted than everyone else. At those rates we can do 4-5 minutes no problem(!) I really hope she's as great as she seems

I am impressed. I just got her quote for fireworks - a fraction of what other coordinators charge. Literally so much less.

Post Groom and GM attire
NABUMBAH replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My fi purchased err.... I bought him a light tan suit at the Hugo Boss outlet this summer. We actually got a great deal. The week before we were at the Nordstrom anniversary sale and they had a very similar suit that he almost purchased, but he hated the pleated pant. I found the same suit with a flat front pant at the HB Outlet (SoCal girls, there is one in Cabazon) for around $375 -- it was on sale at the outlet. he's going for this look with a different tie, obviously. I think the guys will probably wear tan pants and a long sleeved blue shirt to compliment the BMs. Still need to find their stuff. -
Vegas Hotels: the good & BAD!
NABUMBAH replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Weddings in Las Vegas
I've stayed all over. Fi used to get comped all the time. still does sometimes. -Mandalay Bay: pool is overcrowded during the summertime, rooms are nice -Luxor: eh... pool sucks -Excalibur: in my college days; won't be going back -Tropicana: see above -Monte Carlo - nice rooms, nothing extrodinary. -Aladdin: Now Planet Hollywood -okay. Fi was recently in a suite for a Bachelor party and he said it's much nicer -Paris: where we stayed when we got engaged. We were in a HUGE suite. It was nice, but honestly It seemed a little run-down -Bally's: I actually like Bally's for one of the older hotels. The rooms are rather large -Flamingo: I vaguely remember staying here. Must've been a good trip! -Harrah's: stayed a few times. Nothing outstanding. -Venetian: I've had good stays and bad stays here. Overall it's nice. -Wynn: love the Wynn. three of our last four trips to Vegas we've stayed here together. Love the European sunbathing pool, rooms and bathrooms are fabulous -Hard Rock: Rooms are starting to look a little outdated although the last time we stayed here they had added plasmas. I think the HR needs a major facelift as far as rooms go. But the pool is good times. -Fairmont Timeshares: This place is actually excellent if you can book it as a hotel stay. For Fi's 30th birthday we rented a 4br penthouse with dual master bedrooms. It was around 4000 sqare feet. Really nice. -Rio: Their rooms also need updating, but they're nice and big. And thier pool is okay. -Palms: We stayed here for half of our last trip. We were in a suite in the old tower but I hear that the new tower is amazing. I also like the renovations that they've done to their pool area. HR needs to get a clue from them. -The Jockey Club: Great location right next to the Bellagio. 1Br condos are great for four people and there is a full kitchen. I've stayed here during the winter when having a pool is not essential. -Hooters: We actually stayed here in August when my BFF got married at the MGM. We did not want to spend $200 a night for rooms at the MGM and this was right across the street. The rooms were fine, beds were comfy, pool was okay (can we say sausagefest?) and gets no sun in the afternoon. But it was cheap, and close to the MGM. I am sure that there are more that we've stayed at, but this is all that I could come up with. Back in the day we were going to Vegas twice a month on Fi's comps. Waaay back. Before we had "real jobs" -

Christa, Kash & Janet, yeah, the paper obsession/neurosis continues with these invites. I hope that they turn out. I received some samples from the printer, so I am going to do a test run this weekend. If it looks good I will post photos on Monday. oh, and yeah... I'll be doing approx 125-150. I am ordering a bunch of extra invites so if I decide to poke my eyeballs out from frusteration I can always just send the plain old cards to some folks.

This company was highly recommended by another very helpful vendor that we have contacted. Below are her rates & services, as well as some supplemental info from an email: Legalities: This service is provided when you want to get legally married in Mexico. The requirements to get legally married are: Marriage application filled out, copy of id´s from bride, groom and 4 witnesses, first and last page of the divorce decree (s) if applicable (this has to be done prior to your arrival date), and finally the tourist cards that your flight attendant hand to you before landing. Cost $470.00 USD This expense includes: the judge fee, the paperwork processing, blood test, medical certificate, the marriage license and a certified copy of the original document. We provide the marriage application with its instructions. . Coordination: This is a mandatory expense and it is related to our services. Our responsibilities are many but the main ones are: Coordination fees are quoted depending on the size of the party. From 2 to 20 guests: $600.00 USD From 21 to 50 guests: $1,000.00 USD From 51 to 100 guests: $1,200.00 USD From 101 to 150 guests: $1,500.00 USD From 151 to 200 guests: $1,700.00 USD Over 200 guests: $2,000.00 USD In Case you only want the help of a wedding coordinator on your wedding day the prices are: From 2 to 50 guests: $50.00 USD per hour From 51 to 100 guests: $75.00 USD per hour From 100 to 200 guests: $100.00 USD per hour Ceremonies and Legalities: Please consider that ceremonies and the legal aspect to get married here in Mexico are two different things. Ceremonies are only protocol since they will not make your marriage legal. If you decide to get legally married in your country, then the legal expenses are waived and still you will have the opportunity to have a ceremony here in Mexico. There are 5 ceremonies that we usually offer to our clients: The civil – standard ceremony which is the translation of the ceremony that the Judge performs (legal ceremony) The Love Ceremony The Sacred Ceremony Multi faith Ceremony Traditional Ceremony These ceremonies are performed by Robin Clements our recommended American Minister. Please consider an extra expense of $350.00 USD Feel free to request a copy of these ceremonies. Rehearsal Dinner: After the rehearsal, you may wish to have a rehearsal dinner and this is a service that we usually coordinate as well. Some options are available in San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas and with different prices and atmospheres, We can give you details upon request. MUSIC OPTIONS: Disc Jockey Highly recommended. If you want your reception to be a party, you should consider this option. The DJ is the only one capable of providing many different types of music from the beginning until the end of your wedding. The price is $200.00 USD per hour. The DJ offers the following services: DJ Provides recorded music appropriate for each part of your wedding, such as the pre-ceremony welcome time, the processional, the post-wedding cocktail hour, dinner, first dance, party, etc. A cordless microphone for the ceremony and toast is included too. If appropriate, can provide special lighting effects for the party such as is found at many popular dance clubs. (This service has an extra charge) Please feel free to request our “DJ List of Songs”. It is a 40-page document, and even it is not a complete list. On the list is music ranging from classical to hip-hop, and everything in between. If you also want to bring some of your own music on CDs, the DJ will play them for you. He will take good care of them and return them to you after your wedding. NOTE: If there is any song missing in the DJ’s List of Song that you would like to have on your wedding please feel free to request it. Mexican Trio: The trio is recommended to create a Mexican ambiance. It is just perfect for weddings of less than 50 guests. Music from the Mexican Trio is appropriate after the ceremony or during dinner. One hour of their time is recommended, and certainly no more than two. $350.00 USD per hour Mariachi: The Mariachi and Mexican Trio are similar since both play Mexican music. However the Trio plays more romantic music and the Mariachi band is more fun and festive. There are 6 players in a Mariachi band, and it is recommended for weddings over 50 guests. The Mariachi is highly recommended right after the ceremony. $500.00 USD per hour Classical music options: We use the services of several different classical music trios and duos to provide classical music for your wedding. We highly recommend this service, even for a beach wedding. This is the best option if you wish to receive your guests formally. Our musicians can play music for your processional, recessional and even incorporate music during the ceremony. They add a very nice touch to any post-ceremony cocktail reception. I dont mark any price on the vendors, those are their normal prices. I just charge a fee for my services depending on the number of people attending to your wedding. I have been coordinating weddings for over 3 years now, two of them at Finisterra Hotel in cabo San Lucas, where I worked as Guest Services Manager. I am sort of DIY-ing my invites (again) I'm going to do letterpress from Mercurio Letterpress, which allows me to design the card with whatever design I want. And then I am sewing the cardstock onto a piece of thai silk with a small pocket in back that will contain our response card, as well as other pertainent info. Should be interesting.

Cabo Restaurant / Club suggestions?
NABUMBAH replied to MARIAELM's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
I forgot to mention my top recommendation for Cabo-Todos Santos drinks: Art & Beer It's a bit out of the way, but not too bad if you plan to do a day-trip to Todos Santos, as we did on our last trip to Cabo. Here is some more information on the place: http://www.cabosource.com/art_and_beer.php http://www.ambassadair.com/archives/0305/baja_0305.cfm When we arrived at Art & Beer we were greeted by Alfredo who promptly offered us his house specialty drinks - the Bloody Caesar & Triple Juice. Chris went with the Triple Juice and I had a beer. As we sat at our table, numerous other patrons came and went getting drinks 'to go'. Alfredo came by our table and gave us a plate of fresh clams. We had just had lunch and weren't hungry, but he teased my fi calling him a chicken and bocking at him until he ate the clams. True to the claims, on our way out he made Chris a bloody Caesar and gave me a Modelo Negro 'for the road' here is a great review from tripadvisor as well - this really captures the character of this place: I just got back from a week in Los Cabos and the most fun I had was at a little place called Art & Beer. Art & Beer is a little hole in the wall at KM 69 on the road between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. I stopped on a whim because a friend of mines wife had to relieve herself. You can't pee for free at Art & Beer(they truck in water) so we sat down and had a few drinks. The owner looks like a spanish conquistador and immediately took a disliking to my friend who's wife had to pee. He asked her "how she could be with someone so ugly" and proceded to bet him that he wouldn't eat one of his hot peppers for four free beers. My pal wouldn't take the bet which furthered this mans dislike of my buddy. I offered to eat the peppers in which he demanded I eat three for the same four beers, which I did. Several amazing drinks and eight free beers later we were on our way. Art & Beer will be a visit on my next trip to Los Cabos, If your planning a trip I encourage a stop, and don't forget a designated driver. and some photos we took there: this place is definitely not to be missed. -
Hi ! May 3rd is my friend's wedding anniversary - good choice! good luck with the planning - there are loads of Dreams girls on here.

Eternity band pros & cons?
NABUMBAH replied to MARIAELM's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
We actually looked at rings last weekend so I figure I would chime in I really don't want a band that "matches" the band on my ering, rather I want something that compliments it. We went to Robbins Bros last weekend (Chris calls it the Circus) to look at bands since they have such a huge selection. I did finally find something that I liked, but just my luck they cannot order it in platinum, so it would have to be custom made. I think as long as we're going to do a custom set, I am going to try to get an eternity band. As far as travel/sports go. I am planning to also buy a cheapie titanium band to wear when I really don't want to wear my regular band & ering.
