Jessica Claire is one of the best dw photographers around and will be shooting one wedding for free next year. From her website: Quote: This is the reason I am going to be shooting a wedding for free next year! That's right--the travel (if applicable), shooting, online posting, and album for the couple on my own dime. Here are the rules: 1. Couples must be getting married sometime in 2007 and have a set date and location 2. You must send me your story about why you deserve for me to shoot your wedding for free along with a recent photo of you and your fiancee 3. The final three couples and stories will be posted here December 15th for people to vote 4. The winner will be announced on December 31st 5. Email your story and photo to: [email protected] There are no strings attached--you won't be charged tax, forced to buy anything else if you don't want to, or anything like that. This is solely an opportunity for me to give a deserving couple something that I hope they will treasure. Feel free to send this entry to your deserving friends--I hope to find one really special couple to do this for. all the details are on her blog. http://www.jcsphoto.com/blog/index.html I would LOVE to see another BDW bride win this.

Tracy McGrady's Wedding
NABUMBAH replied to andreslove's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
yeah, but I am sure she didn't choose to have them in there, you know? It was probably the photographer's discretion. And fwiw, I doubt they meant for these to be released to the public. -

I think those photos were nice, and tastefully done. Boudoir photography has become SUPER popular. and well, she has the body. -

Wow, Karla that totally sucks about the starfish. What a pain. I would be upset too, if for no other reason than that you didn't have them for Natasha. And the candle situation sounds like a pain too. I am really sorry to hear about that. What I am pleased to hear is that you enjoyed the Marquis so much. I am so excited now

I'll PM one to you.

Gown dilemma
NABUMBAH replied to JENGONDA9's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I wouldn't do it because I would rather see the money spent toward either making the parties better, or toward something more substantial like our house. But I am really practical about a lot of this wedding stuff so take my opinion with a grain of salt. They are both gorgeous! -

those are great thank you for sharing! -
I planned on using Elena Damy, but weeks have passes and she has not bothered to respond. In the meantime, I contacted Rosy and she recommended, and got a quote for the Mazarte Floral. Their work looks good from their website, and they were much cheaper than Elena. Their website is here: www.mazartefloral.com

I actually feel kind of bad, but when it came down to it, I found another photographer that was more experienced and charged me less. She's amazing though, and is sure to give you great photos. I still regularly check her blog and when I saw april and nate's photos, I couldn't help but feel a slight bit of regret for not booking her. Her package must have changed, because when I was planning to use her she did include more in her DW package. I think that she actually may have sent you her local pricing, rather than her DW pricing so just in case i will post her DW package below Quote: Leigh Miller Photography 619-913-0913 leighmillerphotography.com [email protected] my destination wedding package is $6000 and includes 2-3 days of coverage and the following: *pre-wedding consultations * rehearsal dinner coverage – up to 2 hours *bridal shoot the day before or after your wedding - up to 2 hours *unlimited photographs taken at your wedding by leigh and an associate photographer *8 hours of photography and unlimited locations on your wedding day *a library bound proofbook of 300 photographs - combination of b/w and color, images chosen by photographer *online proofing of entire edited event - this also allows family and friends to view and order prints directly *negatives on a CD to keep for personal use *a 9x12, 40 page album from graphistudio or a 20 page album from cypress albums or leather craftsmen, each album valued at $1500 (or a $1500 album credit toward the album of your choice) *2 parent albums – style of parent album depends on primary album choice *no additional travel fees or expenses for most locations print prices are as follows: 4x6 - $10.00 5x7 - $14.00 8x10 - $25.00 11x14 - $50.00 gift registry available. prices are subject to change prior to booking and receipt of the 50% deposit. please contact me if you have any questions. i look forward to hearing from you. thank you for your inquiry. best wishes - leigh this may or may not help you make a decision. For us, photography was at the top of our list and we felt more comfortable hiring someone from here that we could contact before and after the fact with ease. But as evidenced by the work on this forum, there are some phenomenal photographers in Mexico. -
incredible, Janet. Looks amazing! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! congrats!

a reception with NO DANCING????
NABUMBAH replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I think you will be fine with no dj, but I would still play a good mix of music in case people want to dance. And maybe think ahead and plan to go to a bar or club afterward that has dancing. That way you don't have to pay $ for the DJ, but your guests that want to dance can still do so. -
we're doing greens and blues. the flowers will be white with green accents

Janet, I am so thrilled for you! Yesterday I caught myself thinking 'janet is getting married about now...how exciting!" I am so glad to hear that everything went so well with the wedding - Enjoy your honeymoon! we're all looking foward to seeing photos of your perfect day!

I tend to agree. There are tons of drunken spring breakers, senior trip kids (it's where I went for my sr trip - can you imagine? 400 18 year olds ) and bachelor and bachelorette parties there every year. I'm sure they've seen it all.
