Also, I know the hotel can't hold all of those people to stay there. Where would you receommend near by for people to stay? Thank you!! Hey Shannon, I am pretty sure that Armando told us that the hotel can accomodate up to about 90 guests for a reception. We expect our final count to be 70-90 guests.
  2. Which vendors did you tip? What did you tip them? thanks t
  3. we used wedquarters.com $25 for a year of hosting, and $15 for a custom domain.
  4. I am pretty sure we're doing our welcome dinner at Tabasco's. We were quoted around $30.pp for fish and shrimp for dinner, and an $850 min for bar tab for 65-75 guests. I think we may change the dinner selections slightly, but otherwise we do plan to use them
  5. Hi Laura, you're almost at the one year mark to your wedding! Time flies! where are you getting married?

    Hi There, Tulum is gorgeous.
  7. I bought my shoes yesterday. We made the poor decision to join the masses at an outlet mall near my mom's vacation place in the desert on black Friday. We got there around midnight and the place was a huge clusterf*ck. My little sister wanted to get a pair of jeans at Off 5th, the Saks outlet so on a whim I checked out the shoes and found these babies: They were originally $700 and I paid $130... and waited in line for about an hour and a half, but we got them. They're hillarious, and tacky and perfect. The photo is a little washed out and the silver may clash with the ivory in my gown but whatever. I can't get over how funny they are.
  8. Thanks Janet! I appreciate all of your very helpful answers. I am expecting around 75 guests... so I am not sure about having the band but I guess I will figure it out. thanks SO much! Tasha
  9. We had this on the old MB so I thought it would be helpful here too. Plus, I have a question for you, Janet. (Actually, a few) - we have negotiated the filet & lobster dinner for our guests, but my dad is being a pain and wants to offer fish & lobster also. Since Armando isn't the best about getting back to us right away and I need to finalize my invite design, do you think that he will trip if we just go ahead with our plan to offer both? I can't imagine that fish is any more $ than beef. - what does the inside of the reception area look like? Are there lanterns hanging? From this photo on their site it appears that there are curtains hanging. Are those just something that a guest added? would you recommend adding lanterns or curtains or anything? - How did they set up the cocktail hour near the pool area? Did they put tables & chairs out? Did they provide linens? - Was the dancing in the restaurant? If I were to hire the Twins to play where would they set up? - When I was talking with Tara's partner Amy she recommended that we get tiki torches to light up the beach at night. Would you rec this? Thanks for your help!
  10. oh right -- yes, each person uses one color and the two "blend" when emptied into the container. My friends did a sand ceremony last weekend and used blue & green. Very pretty!
  11. There is a girl who was married at the Fiesta Americana in the Imperial Suite. Her photos are on Jessica Claire's blog - you may have to look back to July to find them. Gorgeous location, but I have no idea on pricing.

    Newbie!!

    welcome to the forum!
  13. It's somewhat difficult to cut, fold and glue the folders, but I will be happy to help with whatever questions you might have
  14. in case anyone needs it, here is my mini-bible on how i did mine Quote: - Buy a rotary cutter! I got mine (Friskars - get one with a base!) at Michael's for around $25 with a 40% off coupon from the paper. I cut all of the passes out, and then did the corners later. You will need an X-acto blade to round the corners, should you choose to do so. I did, and mine weren't perfect but they turned out fine because no one got duplicates. - I also perforated the area of the pass that would normally pull off. Not sure if I would recommend doing this - so much work! - I printed the passes on the cheapie cardstock found at Michael's too. I printed it on my inkjet at home on photo quality. -if you are into graphic art or know someone who is maybe they can help you to set up the template for the folder - I did ours in Adobe illustrator. I had my brother help me, and I can send you what he did, however it ended up being a huge pain because he did not accurately divide the page for the folder and therefore I had to manually cut each folder on one side so that we could fold and glue it later - that's in addition to the original cut that we had to do. You can get the template for the "flyer" from the Vistaprint website. From there, you divide the page into thirds, but remember to leave a little room for the tri-fold. It's hard to explain, but if there is too much room in the first fold, then you have to trim, too little and then you have some white space from the back of the folder. Again, hard to explain. I can try to come up with a diagram, or I may have some samples that I can send you if you want to see what I am talking about. - Vistaprint did a great job with printing. The color turned out perfect and they were right on time. I had to do somewhat expedited shipment so I think I paid around $75 for 100 of them. I printed their 50# full bleed flyer. I think total cost for everything - rotary cutter, paper, folders, glue, envelopes (I used Invitation Envelopes. Small orders our specialty. Free Shipping. - paid $23.00 for 250 light blue letter sized envelopes) stamps, and return address labels -- I spent around $200-$225 for 100 of them. They sucked to do, but people seem to really like them Okay, that is the end of my mini-novel for now. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help you. I am definitely no expert but am happy to offer advice with this undertaking! cheers! tasha
  15. those look great, Ana! I was just about to post some info on how I did mine, but it looks like you have it all covered.
  16. Hi Ana, Of course I will share my STD stuff. I used the basic boarding pass template that Tammy posted, but I can share all of the info on how I made the folder, etc with you also. Here are some kinda blurry photos of my stds I will post instructions below:
  17. beautiful ceremony I actually also plan to use "Union" in my vows also. I read it to my friend last summer before her wedding and couldn't even make it though without crying - I am going to return the favor and have her do it as a reading.
  18. I believe that this is the one that my local girls used here is a link to it - $12.99 at Target. Target : Wide Float Frame - Black (4x6") and here is a before/after of her sand ceremony frame
  19. I love the Alegria Inn. Such a unique location
  20. I used a gal who is local to me named Candi Merle - she did an excellent job. We emailed for a couple of weeks, I sent her a swatch from my gown and some photos of what I wanted - which incidentally I had never actually seen before and she did an excellent job on the veil. The best part is that she only charged me $62 for the veil and blusher; I am sure that I would have paid 10x that amount if I had actually found the veil and purchased it elsewhere. Her company is Crowning Glory and her email is [email protected] Making a simple veil is no problem - I've made several, but as I wanted a more complicated design I am so glad that I went with her. SO those of you who aren't DIYers or don't have the time, I highly recommend her for service, speed, and cost. FYI - here's a picture of what I sent her...
