  1. I did separate gifts, but I had a small bridal party and it was all family so I was able to extend myself a little further. One shower was thrown by my two grandmothers and I bought them each $50 GCs to a bookstore, the other was thrown by my Sister/MOH (and by my mom even though it's taboo -she did a lot of the work) i also bought them each a $50 gc. These were in addition to the BP gifts.
  2. I just returned from 10 days in Thailand. I would highly recommend it for a vacation locale. It was my second time in Thailand, but my first time actually vacationing there - the other time was on business. I could easily see splitting two weeks between Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai. I have heard wonderful things about Bali from friends who travel there frequently and my H and I plan to take a trip there the next time that we travel overseas. However, with no real experience, I can only truly recommend Thailand. We stayed at the Millenium Hilton on BKK (on the river) although if your budget permits, the Peninsula was right next door, and it's one of the most affordable Peninsulas in the world. (Our hotel was paid for by my company - otherwise we would have splurged!) In Phuket we stayed at the Moevenpick resort in Karon Beach in a Plunge Pool penthouse Villa. I would highly recommend this resort. Good luck with your decision!
  3. I just returned (okay, I am in Tokyo, so technically, I am en route) from our belated HM in Thailand. We did 5 days in Bangkok and 6 days in Phuket. It was aaaaamazing! I will post a full review when I am back and have my wits about me.

We have 25ppl going and it will be about $1,100 or $1,200 from my memory. I feel like that is a good deal...and we are paying for it as a nice "gift" for our family coming down there..... Let me know if you need more info. I think the website was SunRider Adventure - Excitement & Fun We used sunrider for our RD. It was a full domestic bar including pina coladas, etc. Have fun!
  5. So pretty! I have been waiting to see these! Congrats!
  6. I used HIVE. they came to our hotel to do hair/makeup for a group of about 8. They did a very good job. Good luck!
  7. I just started using Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturizer which contails SPF 20. I have also used Bare Minerals, and at the very least I use Cetaphil or Clinique Moisturizer which contains SPF 15.
  8. I certainly will. I have been to Bangkok on business before, but I am looking forward to taking a trip for pleasure this time
  9. We were in Cabo for a total of 9 days. We spent 4 days after the wedding decompressing there. Next month - ten months later we're going to Thailand for 10 days.
  10. I just did my two sisters, and for me that was the best decision I could have made. It was stressful and overwhelming (and expensive!) enough with just the two of them. I did include my friends in the ceremony as readers, and I had two of them join for hair and makeup. It's definitely up to you, but I have to say that in general, larger parties can cause more conflict. So it's something to think about.
  11. here is a pretty amusing series from our wedding. This was post-ceremony. Our photogs took us down to the beach to get some shots of us walking along the beach. everything starts innocently enough until that wave comes up. shock! horror! and then laughter OK, so I ditch the wet veil and we try again. you think we would have learned...
  12. try Stephanie James Couture = there are some amazing vintage inspired short gowns on there.
  13. I puffy heart Nordstrom. Banana Republic also has really great customer service.
  14. I am a big fan of drop veils. But you can probably find a detachable blusher for your veil as well.
  15. We brought 3 cases of wine with us to cabo with no major problems.
  16. I would keep it and continue to collect it for birthdays, if it goes on sale, etc. We did not register for formal China, and in a way I regret it. Our everyday plates are formal enough that we can dress them up, but tomorrow night we're having a dinner party, and it sure would be nice to have some real china for the occasion.
  17. We used Papel Vivo - Hand made Paper and Wedding Invitations: Index -the Costa Rica invite is our actual invitation that we designed with Melina. The invites were $7 or $8 each. With calligraphy and postage they came in around $10
  18. I have a plat ering and a white gold eternity band. I was honestly just too cheap to spend the money on plat when it came to my band. I thought it might bother me, but it doesn't. I think you're probably fine.
  19. I do. I found that it was mostly aggrivated when I was doing bootcamp. My sister also had it and it was so bad she had to get major painkillers a few times. Not fun
  20. sorry I am late but I am checking in from Hong Kong to wish you a very happy birthday!
  21. Wow, those turned out great. what a beautiful day! congrats!
  22. I still haven't. almost 7 months later. I only have a couple of pages left in my passport. I am waiting until they're all filled up and I absolutely have to go through the mess of getting a new one so that I can do everything at once. I travel internationally pretty often, so it shouldn't be long
  23. We used sunrider tours. I would recommend them.
  24. I ended up finding them at Off 5th Avenue (the Saks discount store) last November. They have still never been worn. Should've gone for the Manolos wanna buy them?
