I think I am a bit of an anomoly on this board - we did a DW because we want to save money but we mostly chose to have a DW because if we did it in our home town we would have 4x the number of guests - that's just obscene in my opinion so we opted to do a DW. We're definitely not as budget-conscious as some of the other couples on this board. I voted $5k plus - we are actually spending $5k exactly but that's because our photographer gave us an amazing deal - we're getting what amounts to his premium package for the cost of his cheapest package - and he is paying all of the travel. Since we've already invested a couple hundred in epic prints we're technically over $5k. Relatively speaking, the price that we paid is right on par with what other brides from my home town are paying for photography. And it was one of our top three as far as priority goes (food, entertainment, photography) so there you go

Timeshare: Dreams Los Cabos=Club Casa Dorada Beach and Golf
NABUMBAH replied to JPMO's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
my mom uses vrbo to list her vacation home. She has had great success. She was just telling me the other day that she received a letter from the owners of VRBO - they originally started the site to rent their house in Colorado - then they started advertising their friends' houses and it just exploded from a basement operation to what it is anyhow it's recently been sold. Just some random trivia about VRBO -

You should seriously sell this design to an invitation vendor. So creative.

thanks guys. It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but the paper is all handmade so it's really cool. I really love how they turned out and Melina from Papel Vivo - Hand made Paper and Wedding Invitations: Index was awesome to work with. They did, however, cost a freakin arm and a leg. Such is life, I guess.

L'Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa - Del Mar, CA

I went to a wedding here last summer - it's beautiful but not on the beach -
My fi has been working on this for a while. Basically the jist of what he has told me is that there are not many courses, and most of them are super expensive and do not offer group discounts. He's working with our planner now to try to negotiate something at the executive course in San Jose, but he tells me that the greens fee for that course is still over $100 - for the Palmilla and Cabo Del Sol they're in the $300 + range unless you're staying at the hotel.

another cool location in Temecula for brides that want a winery wedding. Ponte Family Estate Winery It's a beautiful winery. They have a barrel room for small groups and a large tent for larger events. They also have really good food at their restaurant! And their wines are pretty good too

The Candlelight Inn

it is an awesome inn. They have a private cottage in back that we stayed in. It's not featured on their website but if you want more info on it let me know and I will send it to you. We gave our friends 2 nights in the cottage as a wedding gift. They loved it too -
No I haven't. I used to do temecula a lot (in my early 20's - back then it was cheap!) but these days I don't get out there as much. I really like Ponte - have you been there? It's a beautiful location for weddings, too. And I think that their minimums are pretty low. I should post about it

Wilson Creek is a lot of fun!

Viansa is just stunning. We stopped by there on our last Napa/Sonoma trip and while the wines were not my favorite, the winery itself is spectacular. Viansa Winery in Sonoma - Cal-Italian wines, Gourmet Olive Oil, Monthly Wine Clubs & Wine Gift Baskets from the Sebastiani family And a friend of mine who is a WC said that it was a great venue to work with. here is a knottie bio with more pics of the winery Cookie Test

thank you for this. I am definitely going to scale back on flowers and do the fireworks - I have been on the fence about that all along. -

thanks ladies. yes. this is actually his wife who will be flying down to shoot our wedding as well. This is just a small sampling of her work. She took some fantastic shots of our family and my sister's kids, but out of respect for her privacy I won't post those here. It's funny that ya'll identify the photos as "rustic" - she actually chose all of the locations to shoot but ironically we were about 100 yards from the beach at most of these locations. We just walked around the downtown location in HB where I grew up and shot some. I am glad that we did something different, especially in light of the fact that our wedding & wedding photos are going to be so beachy.
