Unfortunatley, it is our company policy not to take any day of requests further than 60 days before the actual date. Because we are so busy with full coordination requests, we just can't do it. I'm getting married at the Sheraton in June. Irma is the coordinator there. She is really a sweetheart. She is sometimes slow to respond, but always does get back to me. She works 6 days a week and is very busy (Tuesday is her day off). I met her on my site vast back in August and she was really helpful and seemed to be very attentive to the brides who were getting married the weekend that I visited. The Sheraton does strongly suggest that you use a wedding coordinator. As I understand it, Irma is really only responsible for the food and beverage portion. (I haven't hired one yet) Anyway, in my opinion Irma has been responsive and accommodating. The only thing that I've found annoying is that they charge you a 10% fee if you want to alter the menu, I.e., nix the dessert and add an extra appetizer instead. There is not an extra to fee to cut the dessert completely, only if you want to substitute. Also the open bar prices are high, but that seems to be the case everywhere in Cabo

We have a timeshare at the resort where we are getting married, so we'll be checking in on Monday, June 18th. I'm glad about that because I know I'm going to have a lot to do down there before the wedding. We're doing our welcome reception on Thursday night (we're getting a master suite, 1 bedroom suite with ocean view and kitchen and doing a drop in reception with appetizers and cocktails for our guests -- all in an effort to save a little $$). You're lucky that Dreams is an AI.

We were originally scheduled at 6, but then switched it to 6:30 Rev. Parsons said that it is dark by 8. I don't want it to be blistering hot for everyone and figured the ceremony would end around 7 (only 30 mins), so we'll have about an hour of light for pictures. Let's both keep praying for temps a little lower than the June average for our wedding weekend!

Kashmira, Good luck!! I'm sure you'll end up with a good price and a great gown! You seem determined. I'll be curious to see the dress you finally pick and how much you save on it!

Natalie, I'm not sure how to attach a quote...hmm... Anyway, I was thinking the same thing about timimg/scheduling a rehersal in regard to your wedding (but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do a rehersal or not). If I do, I'll schedule my rehersal for earlier in the afternoon or after your wedding, so that we don't have to worry about him having to time the traffic lights, etc. to be on time for your wedding (hee hee). What time is your ceremony scheduled for?

Kashmira, Have you considered trying the garmet district in LA. One of my friends said that on certain days they are open to the public, or if you know someone with connections/business license (or something like that) you can go anytime. She said that there are some awesome gowns there for cheap, but that you have to be ready to buy that day and pay cash. Sorry I don't have any more info than that, but maybe it will be helpful.

I was actually considering using Sol Tamargo as my photographer. She is based out of Cancun. I love her photos! She and Matt are engaged. I think he is based out of South Carolina. Apparently, they now travel together photographing weddings. They are both awesome photographers! You can tell from Sol's blog that she really loves her work. But he seems like a great guy and he certainly knows how the ceremony should run/progress. At least we know HE won't be late!! Out of curiosity, do you plan to hire him for a rehersal run through?

Thanks for the compliments on my dress. It's always nice to know that other people think that it is pretty too. Sarah, I really love the beading on your gown! It is gorgeous! Forgot to mention, www.perfectbridal.com was where I found the lowest quote on my dress, in case anyone wants to shop their prices, etc. The way it works is that you send an inquiry, then they send you an email that says that you have to call for a verbal price quote over the phone. Seemed kinda weird, but it saved me a good amount of $ to do the research. When I called they said that they have an actual store front somewhere in California, but they wouldn't tell me where. I didn't want to buy directly from them, because I couldn't verify that they were an authorized retailer, and that was important to me.

I've booked Rev. Parsons. We actually met with him during our trip to Cabo in August. He apparently has performed many, many ceremonies in the Cabo area. He was very thorough during our meeting. He asked us what type of ceremony we wanted, if the groomsmen were going to be in the processional, etc. He also helped us incorporate my FI son into the ceremony He even showed up to our meeting in a coat and slacks. He gives a good first impression and was right on time for our meeting. He did stress the importance of starting the ceremony on time, as he often has more than one wedding a day. As an example, he explained how he has timed the stop lights, etc. My FI and I had a good feeling about him. We're pleased with our choice. Hope this helps!

Kristin, Gosh, I wish the Sheraton would store them for me (I'd gladly pay for at least half the cost), but my wedding is not until June 23rd at the Sheraton. (and I'm not using a coordinator)...hmm...The hurricanes are exactly what I have in mind. I've been trying to figure out how to either buy them here and get them to Cabo or buy them there. I know you're probably really busy down there and it's a long shot, but if you want to ask Irma if she could store them until June and she agrees, I'll send you a check! Good luck with your wedding!
