  1. Cute! I love the first one! Tony never changes the settings on the washing machine, so he'll wash a huge load with the washer set for a mini size load. And then he doesn't like to fold clothes, so he just keeps adding clothes to the dryer and redrying them all.
  2. Wow! Great review and great pictures! Thanks for sharing! Tammy ~ You can't have your wedding there, because then I would be the only Sheraton Cabo bride!! .LOL ....I love the PV pics....so I can see what you mean.

I found a site yesterday that had instructions about how to make one. I'll share it here, if anyone is interested. Making a Veil Thanks for your opinions and ideas ladies! I appreciate it!!

The ones in the link I gave you look really good IMO. I enlarged it to take a closer look. I just don't like when they look fake, like when you can see fraying silk....I don't see that in these. I don't know what they're return policy is...maybe you could return them if you don't like them?
  7. Welcome! You certainly came to right place to share ideas! Good luck with your planning. Let us know if we can help!

  9. It's so hard to decide....I want to wear it all a veil, a tiarra and flowers in my hair.....think that would be too much stuff going on? LOL Seriously, I want to wear flowers too. I like your idea Ann ...Thanks.
  10. I'm trying to decide if I want to wear a veil. Are you going to wear one/Did you wear one? Have any pics to post?? Thanks.

Do they look good? I'll have to run to our local craft store to see if they have them there... Yes, I saw green ones too. They were pretty. I would probably advise you to look for latex orchids, IMO they look more real. Here is a site I almost bought mine through...Catalina Silk Flowers - Silk flowers for gifts and decor Here is a pretty green one..Catalina Silk Flowers - Silk Orchids - Green Phalaenopsis Orchid Stem
  12. There is also a Shinoda Design Center in Santa Ana, but you need to have a business license to get in. My friend has one, so she took me with her. They had tons of stuff. I also bought ribbon at a great price.

I love the idea of using fake orchids Jessalyn - real ones are SO expensive down there! Where are you getting yours from? I actually bought them from a wholesale floral supply store in San Diego...Shinoda Design Center. Here are a few pics of the orchids I bought. The pink ones were $13 a stem and the white ones were $6.95 a stem.
  14. I'm planning to use fake orchids on my tables tucked between shells. I figure it is going to save me $$. They look real! I don't think it's tacky at all as long as the fake flower is a good quality one.
  15. Welcome Tracey! You've come to the right place for info and advice. Let us know if we can help you!
  16. Welcome! I'm sorry I'm not much help with regard to Kaui either. I've only been to Hawaii once, and I was on the big island. Be sure to share your research as you get deeper into your planning.
  17. I bought packages of little heart shaped wedding candles in the dollar section. They were marked down 75% to 25 cents each. It was a great deal. I also bought flip flops for my guests from the dollar section as well. I paid a full dollar for these, as I figured they would all be gone if I waited for them to be marked dow more. I don't see mark downs in the dollar section at my Target very often.
  18. Very cute! Loved the first one! Thanks for sharing!
  19. I have a room block. I'm glad I did it now, the rooms are booking for over $300 a night now through the resort website, and I have them blocked at $175/night. The way my block works is that I have to book at least 10 rooms for 2 nights, because I'm getting married on a Saturday in resorts Palapa area. The room block is not a problem for my group....I'm expecting many guests. The rooms that are not booked in my 40 room block by my release date are released back to the hotel. (except 10 rooms must be booked, as mentioned above). The money I put down for the deposit of the block goes toward the cost of the reception, or can be credited back to my room or my credit card while we're staying at the resort. So the deposit is sort of a savings account for the reception, by my view.
  20. Little Ava is such a cutie!!! I wish I had a flower girl! Love the dresses and what a great deal!
  21. I signed my contract for my June 2007 wedding in April of 2006. I had already seen the resort. At the time I booked, I had my choice of 2 Saturdays in June. Hope this helps a little. You should have plenty of time. You could always contact the resorts you are considering now to ask about availability in May/June 2008...might ease your mind a little.
  22. I agree with Jill's advice. And, I can relate to your concerns and feelings. My FFIL complains about everything and if he had it his way, he would control everything in our lives. So, I feel your frustration and my heart goes out to you. I've learned through my experience, to keep things between me and my FI. We'll vent to each other, but in terms of his dad's opinion and advice, we just listen then do what we want anyway. It makes it a lot easier. .....in one ear and out the other, as they say.
  23. Yay!! So exciting! Congratulations Tammy on your success!! You've created a great place, and we're all so glad to have this forum.
