  1. I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid last Feb/March. We actually got engaged there. It was amazing!! So beautiful and peaceful. I have a ton of pictures at home. I'll post some in the next few days. We stayed in a VIP section I think. I think it was called "gold crown" or something like that. But we had a private conceirge for our floor and they took care of everything for us. There was also a private dining area that served a very nice continental breakfast and mid-afternoon snacks and evening cocktails. It was amazing. Oh and the bathrooms were gorgeous with marble floors, counters and showers. The bed was delightful with white down comforters. Definitely the nicest place I've ever stayed! ....we were soo spoiled there! It was not cheap.....I think almost $500 a night. They had many onsite activities that ranged from yoga to snorkeling, guided walks, kayaking and a lot more. Here is a pic of our engagement dinner. It was a private dinner on the shore on the grounds of the Fairmont Orchid.
  2. Great review! Thanks. I'm glad that everything went so smoothly for you! You were a beautiful bride!!
  3. Kash ~ I love your invitations! Thanks for posting them....I think I might steal your response card wording.
  4. I wouldn't worry yet. NO ONE has booked their rooms for my wedding yet and it is in June. My room block expires in March. We just booked our flights about 2 weeks ago for ourselves. IMO you still have plenty of time. I'm sorry you're feeling so badly about it. If you're really worreied about it maybe you or your FI could casually ask them if they plan to come or not. Then you'd have at least a better idea about their intentions.

  6. Those are super cute! I'm with you on choosing time consuming DIY projects. But it is fun, isn't it? They look great!

Tanya! Let us know if you need any help....lots of great people on here with great ideas and advice!
  8. Welcome Lizzy! You've come to the right place. There is a lot of great info here and really friendly people!
  9. Andrea, You're definitely not alone. A lot of the people who were "for sure" coming to my wedding now aren't. A few just changed their minds, a few are pregnant and due 2 weeks after my wedding or 3 weeks before (one would have been my MOH). One of my best friends/BM was excited and eager when she accepted the role, but then she kinda stopped returning my calls and has become really distant. I almost want to uninvite her. But anyway, hang in there. This is your wedding to celebrate the love you two have and it will be a great day regardless of who is or isn't there. I hope your tests went well.
  10. Welcome Jen... Looking forward to hearing all about your wedding and seeing your pics!
  11. My FI got each groomsman a Tommy Bahama watch. He found them on sale at TJ Maxx. I think he also got them each a silver money clip from Mexico.
  12. Hi Em, Welcome to the site. I'm getting married at the Sheraton in Cabo, so let me know if you have any questions that I could possibly answer. You'll find lots of great info here! Happy planning!
  13. How exciting! It sounds like you're going to have a great variety of backdrops. I can't wait to see the results!!
  14. Those are pretty! What a great site. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Sarah, Those look great! I'm also going to do a logo on my OOT bags that doesn't reference our names. I had my brother, an artist, draw up a cute palm tree and shell design. I'll have to post it once I get the whole design and font nailed down. I can't wait to find out how many bags I'm going to need. I want to start this project.
  16. I saw one that I liked it was ....will be there to celebrate or will be toasting from afar.
  17. Those are great. I love the ones in the trees....so pretty. I'm still trying to decide if I want to trash my dress....the photo possibilities are leaning me toward doing it. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Melissa welcome!! Glad to hear that everything is just about done for your wedding! You are on top of it! I hope I'm that relaxed when my wedding gets closer!
  19. I would agree. If you do buy fake orchids, don't buy silk ones. Look for the ones made of latex. IMO they look the most real. Good find by your FI!!!
  20. Theresa! I'm not a PV bride either, but you'll find lots of great info here and very helpful people!
  21. Heather! Let us know how we can help you!! Happy planning!
  22. Where it says "To have and to hold....From this day forward" maybe you could say something like, "pack your bags and grab your sunscreen". And then, "celebration ahead" instead of "from this day forward". Do you want the issuing agent to say "magnetstreetweddings.com"? I would want to change this if I were you. I can't think of anything for "Departing for life journey together". ...you could always just do xxxxx instead if you can't think of something you like. I don't it would take away from the magnet. Hope this helps.
  23. Welcome Toby! Let us know how we can help!
