Before committing to the foot sandal (or anything dangly) try it on with your dress and make sure it doesn't catch on the netting or anything else on the underside of your dress. Mine did, so I ditched them as I was afraid I would get caught up in them and trip or rip my dress.

I've been there when there was a conference. I agree with Sarah - it didn't negatively impact us at all. In fact, I really didn't notice them except that, from time to time, someone would have a name badge on. They hold the conference events at the front of the hotel and (if it's really big) by the really big reflection pool/bar area in a completely separate part of the hotel from where the weddings typiclly are held.

I have the files to make the passport invites. However, they are InDesign files so if you're not working with a designer, I don't think they will be helpful to you all. If you have a designer and you have somewhere that I can send a large zip file to, send me a PM and I'll email them to you (assuming we can make it work!). I had a lot of inquiries from everyone, so I thought I would double back with you all about the file type before sending these out direct to you.

I recommend skipping flowers in favor of candles. You'll be glad as it gets super dark in Cabo at night. Plus - your pictures look beautiful as everyones' faces are lit with candlelight.

I got them via my wedding coordinator - Maye. We had little candles everywhere.

I saw it for myself - none of the flight attendents would allow this woman to hang her dress. After that - I was prepared and ensured that I had it packed in a bag that I could put in the overhead so it wouldn't get wrinkled. Also - it's really difficult to carry that thing around on a hanger. My seamstress didn't want me to carry it because she was concerned that the little beads that I had would scratch the satin. If you have lace or beads - consider whether it will stay on the hanger. Also, just ask your dress maker/dress store -they will put it in the bag for you so it won't wrinkle.

I changed into a red satin dress for our first dance (we do tango).

We made it a point to eat something at each property that we thought would make the cut. It was a good way to taste their food (as it comes out normally - not when they spiff it up for your tasting) as well as to spend just a bit more time on property and see if we like the flow of the place (from our guests vantage point).

My husband wore a single pink gerbera daisy (to match all the rest of the flowers). To this day - it's one of my favorite things from the wedding. Silly, I know, but he had such a cute smile all day and the gerbera accentuated it. All our pictures look so bright, sunny, and happy.

I like #1 BUT I totally recommend that you try these on and have your FI squeeze your hand as he would if he was holding it fairly tightly. #1 & #3 look as if they protrude a bit. I never wear my band because it isn't a smooth surface and we hold hands all the time. When my husband squeezes my hand (even just to indicate a change in direction when we're walking) it digs into my finger and the surrounding fingers. Make sure it's comfortable!

Tiffany's CEO has spent the last 4 years (pre-Blood Diamond) working to eradicate them from the legitimate diamond market. They have purchased several mines in Canada and, I think, they control all of their mines outside of Canada as well so they know exactly where the diamonds are coming from and under what circumstance. They have also been recognized by Global Witness as having the most promising policy against conflict diamonds. That's why we forked over extra dollars and went the Tiffany route.

Don't count on being able to hang it up. We were on a flight down for a site visit and a bride was crying because they didn't have a place to put her dress (except the overhead compartment).

My dressmaker asked me to bring in a queen sized white sheet and a rolley bag. She packed it up for me so it wouldn't wrinkle. She said that it's more convenient to carry and less likely to get snagged or fall off the hanger if it's in a rolley versus hand carrying it. Sure enough - the dress was barely wrinkled. I hung it up when I got there and didn't have to iron it. BUT - I would never check it.

It's gorgeous - one point about see through dresses in the midsection... Long story short - our photographer accidentally sent us a CD with another couples photos on it. The woman had a similar dress (on top) to this one. Even though she was thin and you wouldn't think that this would happen - there were some awful shots because of the see through lace. She had just a bit of flabby in a few spots that some photos accentuated. I don't think you would notice it normally, but you sure did in the photos.

We had a nice breeze and my hair was fine. The ladies who do hair there know what they're doing. Tip on the veil (courtesy of my BM who had just been to a windy beach wedding in North Carolina prior to me buying my veil), get one that is weighted on the ends. Mine had little beads on the edging. It held it down perfectly. Oh - and every time I've been there I've noticed that the wind tends to die down as the sun sets.

My company deals with hurricanes so I'm going to add a little bit to this thread. Over the last three years (probably more) there has been a change in the hurricane/tropical storm trends. The most treacherous storms have hit the East (Florida/Cancun/Carribean, etc.) from late September through to the last week of October. Hurricane season technically runs from June 1st to November 30. It's much shorter in Cabo. Cabo gets fewer storms, but they, too, are hitting August through the end of October. A note about Cabo - typically, the hurricanes don't actually hit Cabo - but they do threaten it about 2 - 3 times in that August to October period. They, instead, turn into tropical storms just before they hit. Cabo recovers very quickly from these storms - especially the corridor. We went right after one last September and, while the streets were really muddy (and sometimes missing some pavement on the side) between the airport and our hotel and some of the hotels still had tape on the windows, it was hardly noticeable and we drove a rental car. I think Cabo had two or three major storms. One at the end of August, one in September, and the last was mid/end of October. They're predicting 17 named storms this year (5 hurricanes). Last year I think we had 10 named storms and 5 hurricanes. We were under the number of named storms but I think they accurately forecasted the number of hurricanes. Most of those hit in the Atlantic - none hit the US. Don't panic! But this is good info to have. If you are getting married in August-October, negotiate a contingency plan with your venue. Don't let them limit it to hurricanes - you need to include tropical storms because if a hurricane is looming that turns into a storm but none of your guests could travel because it was a threat of a tropical storm - you're out the money. Also, advise your guests to get travel insurance and make sure it covers storms.

We got everything through a printer (and it was really cheap). I think that we paid for the paper for the covers. They did the foil stamping and cut them out - we rounded the corners. They threw in the inside paper as they had surplus from another print job. I've asked our designer to give me info on what type of paper it was. We printed everything (including the pattern of the paper) ourselves. Well - our designer did it on his cool printer.

Well, August is the height of hurricane season so, yes, you can expect it to be humid. If you put your hair up, though, you should be fine.
