To all previous OOT bag givers...
JPMO replied to CourtneyV's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
1) Was there any item that you wish you had included in your OOT bags? A reminder itinerary of the weekend events with time and location. I got so busy that I never printed them out. 2) Was there anything you included that could have been nixed, or your guests didn't use very often? Bought extra floaties since I heard that Dreams can run out. Also supplied large sippee cups so guests could drink to their delight. Neither were needed since service was good and other guests didn't hog pool area. 3) Was there any certain items that your guests really used a lot, or really loved? Pashminas for the women! The bags themselves. More men actually carried them than I expected. Also the snacks since sometimes people didn't want a full meal just popcorn or chips. -
Oh yes I forgot to mention... the chivari chairs made such a big difference. I am so glad that I stuck to my guns and made this happen. Also, for the linens keep in mind that even at 22. per table that's a great price for such a distinctive and luxe linen.

Funny since througout the entire planning process I planned to use F&M. Due to budget constraints I had to adjust my rentals. I ended up going through Sunset Weddings but have a hunch that they use F&M as well. In addition to approx. 100. in delivery, F&M charges $150 in coordination fee (like 15% gratuity i presume). I opted to pay more per chair but less delivery with Sunset Weddings. Alejandra is a joy to work with but when it can time to shave off $1000 or so they were left on the cutting floor. Here's the breakdown: Sunset Weddings vs. F&M Chairs: $9 vs. $7 Linen: $19 per table vs. $22.50 Napkins : same at $1.50 Chargers: $3.50 vs. N/A Cylinder centerpiecese: $35. per table / same Lounge furniture: N/A vs. $175. per set Cocktail tables: n/A vs. $20 per table The last two entries plus some accent pieces are what I had to remove from my order but thought that I'd include pricing anyway. Thanks for checking out the blog... I just love the photos and can't wait to see more.

Tasting was free for us and we only gave her one day's notice. I am sure she would appreciate more time.

Here's the email of an account mgr. there. I can't speak for Hilton but Dreams didn't mind. They also don't have a formal pricelist that I know of. Just tell what you'd like and they will send pics and quote. Alejandra Vazquez <[email protected]>

We actually bought computer speakers with a subwoofer from the City Club in Cabo. We thought that it would be loud enough but with the sounds of the waves and guests conversing it got lost. Dreams ended up sending their speaker. It was just one but it was perfect. Opinion: have a professional speaker system!

How many days before and how many days after??
JPMO replied to michelle08's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
We arrived Monday with our first 5 guests arriving Tuesday. The majority arrived on Thurday and we stayed and additional week. I totally recommend staying extra days, as many as you can get. Hosting your group is fun but also work in itself. It's good to have that downtime and truly vegetate and enjoy one another. Good luck! -
Not to confuse you anymore. There is also Francisco Estrada, Gilda Badillo, and Jose Lima (sp) from Cabo. I used Gina DeContii of Imaginativestudios.com It was an overall better value since I have photography for 2 days. Never be intimidated by the pricing on the sites. Just ask not a special quote. It's great for their portofolio and 3/4 days in Cabo can be 1000. each depending upon accommodations.

Thanks for the awesome review Jamy. With both you and Ann being so happy with your Las Caletas selection, more brides are sure to utilize the site. Also, loved the color or the dresses! Can't wait to see more pics!!!

Forum Technical Issues
JPMO replied to TammyWright's topic in Bugs, issues or "how to" navigate forum questions.
Ouch Tammy that actually happens quite often. Moving too quickly, preoccupied with other things it could happen to any of us. Glad that it wan't too bad of a burn. Slow down Lil' Mama and nurse that hand. P.S. Can never say thank you enough for all you do! -
"But I'm sure your guests had an amazing time anway. Hey did you ever end up doing the polo t-shirts for your guests that were going to go golfing?" Glenda, I keep forgetting stuff! Yes, I did order the sale golf shirts from Queensboro. I wasn't necessarily happy with the material. They were like nice quality t-shirts with collars. Once in Cabo that was exactly what the guys needed since it was so hot. They were a huge hit! It was a grat way to continue branding our guests over the weekend. For the $115. investment it was a huge WOW factor!

Congratulations and welcome back! Maurice and I actually witnessed you taking your marina pictures but didn't want to interrupt. You guys look just like your pic. I told Maurice, " Hey she's a web friend from the BDW!" He thought I was nuts. The marina was a great idea... so picturesque! Good luck and can't wait to see more pics!

Cabo should be ok for an asthmatic. It's dry heat and if near PB Sunset Beach it's not nearly as humid as it can be in the Tourist Corridor section. Earth, Sea, and Sky vacations actually publishes a booklet with pics of all of there villas. It's avaiable for free in Cabo! Maybe they can send you one or another bride can pick up for you. I left mine there... sorry! I also own at PB Sunset Beach and can attest that the grounds, chapel, and area is extremely beautiful. Laura Ortiz, the planner there, isn't the most responsive however. Keep that in mind! Good luck!

We actually added a salad. That course would've been soup. I agree with Jessalyn that with filtered water your guests will be fine. We selected Caeser which has egg in the dressing, you may try Italian or Ranch. A salad alternative would be soup, sorbet, or pasta w/ vegetables without meat if it isn't an entree choice.

JPMO replied to Sarah's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Congrats fellow Chicagoan!!!! I am totally excited for you and can't wait to hear about the details. PS Sorry for the late post! Was on HM. -
Glad I could read your review Tammy! Restaurants are indeed hit or miss in Cabo; glad you didn't let it ruin your vacation. The mini cakes looked great and the coral, seashell detail was defiantely worth the cost. Flowers looked awesome too... same florist as Tammy host Re: the makeup sometimes it's better to do your own anyway. I feared looking like a clown so I think I spent waaaay to much time on that. You looked beautiful from hair, make-up to dress. If things weren't the way you wanted it was surely hard to tell!!! Way to go!!!

Calling all you Chicago ladies!!
JPMO replied to amyh's topic in General Wedding Planning Information

OOT Travel Troubles???
JPMO replied to LAUREN1980's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Lauren I was worried just as you were. I had two large 55gal clear plastic totes. I had to take my chances since it was never going to fit in luggage. When the agents saw our luggage we never hit the light we were automatically checked. Everything was fine... I suspect because it's wedding season and I was carrying my dress. The agent actually advised that I bring receipts next time but it was fine. As Ann suggested just be honest and upfront when asked. Things will be fine. Also place the cheap stuff on top and if you are packing more than one bag try to pack so that they look alike. The agents we encountered appeared to not really "feel" like looking through everything. -
Here's the dress shortened!

FI wouldn't allow the A with the room issues that we had. I also forgot to mention that the food from the first and second courses we tasted a year ago were not as good. Crab cake not like at home, spinach raviolli was cold and ceaser salad was prepared too early. Entrees of lamb chops or chicken filled with spinanch were great! I am still overall very pleased with Dreams and would recommend as my first choice for a AI DW. Marianna is the jewel of the resort she is so calm and accommidating. She offered suggestions and was so responsive. If I had known I would have used her soley and booked rentals through another company. With this site you know when pricing is too high. That's my only objection with Dreams' pricing for outside vendors like musicians and videography.

White or Cream
JPMO replied to StephanieMN's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So I think the off white cream looks best. But I am usure if it's the lighting that is deceiving. Both style dresses look good to me! -
Everything was fabulous... I didn't believe it when other brides would say certian things didn't matter on that day but it's true. You are floating with your head in space. Far higher than the clouds! DW so beat out the traditional nuptuals by far. I can't wait for more pics myself. I have been hounding guests!

Tomas is really nice but he only picked up payment from us nothing else. If I could suggest anythin else try for more photography time. I was getting dressed right up to the minute before the start of the ceremony. I missed out on a lot of BM/ Bridal shots.
