  1. Congrats and I am so excited to here that everything went so well.
  2. Maurice and I started dating Sept. 2004, were engaged Feb. 2006. Things moved so quickly but it didn't take long to know that we shared something special.

Not that you can necessarily find them at every location but Homegoods/TJ Maxx had cute porcelain boxes with seashell decor on top for $10. I bought two myself for the mothers. Pottery Barn just added some boxes to their site as well. I am buying my girls Coach wristlets, $40 from the outlet. Another idea I saw was a really cute picnic set that could be personalized... I think on ebay under bridesmaid gifts. Let us know what you decide.
  4. Wendy, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful pics with us. You guys looked like you have a ball! Congrats to you and your husband.
  5. While i have never been to either location when I was planning I looked at both. Easily said your decision will come down to price. If you are footing the bill for more than the reception then an AI is the way to go. The Westin looked beautiful online and was remodeled recently (room decor) but the catering/ bar charges were a bit steep for us. We wanted a group meal each day. Keep that in mind. Other than that I haven't heard bad things about either. I think the Westin has the cool peninsula to have a ceremony on
  6. I feel like a VIP viewing their wedding. McGrady is such a cool player... Thanks for sharing! Her flowers were gorgeous. It also gave me some ideas for before ceremony, bridal shots.

    Newbie here :o)

Welcome aboard! Any general questions you may have about your wedding I am more than willing to help.
  8. I wanted 8 hours. We've negotiated 6 hours day of and 1.5 hours for the welcome dinner. The way I've figured it out is an hour b4 the ceremony and they stop 1.hr before the scheduled end of reception.
  9. Of course! I guess I should make a list other than my notebook. Either decision would be great. How about indoors since the wedding and reception is outdoors. That's why I moved our rehearsal dinner to the beach, since our ceremony wasn't a beach ceremony. For a lot of our guest this may be the only time that they set foot in the sand. I know it sounds crazy but when we were there we were always by the pool. We never went to the beach.
  10. In addition OOT bags, we're also giving away personalized cd's. Before deciding we thought about cigars for the guys and bracelets/pendants for the women (silver is supposed to be reasonable there). Silver luggage tags (really liked this idea) Passport cover/luggage tag set I agree with the other posts stating that most guests won't miss it especially if you give an OOT bag. Just remember not to go crazy thinking about it.
  11. We're hosting a welcome dinner the first night instead on Dreams' beach The ceremony/reception will take place at the Cascade terrace as well. It is such a great spot. I think the pool is so picturesque. Since it's two levels we'll use the bottom level for ceremony and top for reception. The terrace next to the waterfall and pool will hold the cocktail hour. I felt the same way about an offsite rehearsal dinner. Transportation would eat up our savings. We will however rent a truck/van for the week. Besides, people paid a nice amount of money to stay at Dreams I figured we'd try to maximize our dollar. If you or I had picked a non AI then it would be a harder decision.
  12. I like: Panera Bread Target Citrus scents Fun hat and scarf sets (it get's pretty cold here in Chicago) Wedding and house magazines Cool stationary, notecards Wow this isn't really that easy to list.
  13. Right! Pat yourself on the back. Did you just do your visit Did I miss a posting somewhere about your results. Did you taste the chocolate mousse... it's soooo good. What location did you pick at Dreams for your ceremony and reception?
  14. Hey there. Unfortunately, sometimes I have to work plus I had my stepson's birthday over the weekend, he's 3 so you could imagine how crazy the house was. Glad to be back though, so many reviews to read and pics to look at. Can you believe that I am finished planning... I think. I am working on the dress now and DIY projectsI can't decide what I want to do. What are you working on?
  15. You know that really sucks! Chances are the hotel was nice, but now many will never know due to his dishonesty. I myself wouldn't support this establishment. Thumbs down to him.
  16. They take great some very interesting pics. Is this who you are thinking about using?
  17. Sarah, those look great! When all of them are lit on the tables that's going to look so pretty.
  18. Hey guys! I am using Tomas and he does great work. I actually have a sample dvd of his work. I'll mail it to you if provided you just mail it back. We've decided to go for the 1100. package I believe. While it doesn't cover how many hours I will actually get, he has reassured me that he typically doesn't leave before the party ends. 1100. covers: pre ceremony bride and groom ceremony cocktail reception 60min dvd plus an additional copy It's just $100 to cofirm your date
  19. Yeah Janet!!!! Thanks so much for your review. I laughed a couple of times... you referenced being rather intoxicated. My FI it so excited since his intentions are to be drunk by the end of the evening. So glad you took the time to write... enjoy your honeymoon.
  20. Thanks for such a thorough review. Especially the off site activities and dinners. I am soooooo glad that the cake was good. I can't wait to taste it again!
  21. Welcome aboard!!!!! You have more options than you think especially if you are Catholic. Let your first decision be location. Once you have decided then your options will reduce drastically and it won't seem so overwhelmng? I am a Cabo bride myself, but you must decide what "feel" you want for your wedding and how much you want to pay/guests pay to get there. Good luck!!!!
  22. Welcome Michelle! I am a fellow Dreams bride 6/16. Any questions you may have we are here to help.

This could save money & enable me to purchase more.. :-) Hey Tammy I have made a couple of bouquets before so I am sure it would be super easy. The only thing is Orchids, I believe, must be wired before use in a bouquet. Just an f.y.i. I am sure instructions can be found online
