Congrats again Natasha your pics were a great to view. You and your guests looked like you had a great time on the dance floor. I loved all of the details and extras (i.e. dance instructors, fireworks) your friends and family will be talking about your wedding for many years to come. Has anyone ever told you that you favor Shania Twain?

So far so good lost 10lbs water wght! Now I am eating smaller portions, cut out white flour, most processed foods and sugars, NO SODA, and 30 min. of exercise My goal is 20lbs as well!

KarlaV's SlideShow by Juan Carlos
JPMO replied to KarlaV's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Karla, the pics are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! Juan did such a great job, you must be so excited. Thanks for sharing and I am confident that your May wedding pics will be even more beautiful -
Welcome Kelli, take it from a "serial" planner (I started planning approx.2yrs. out) it's never too early to plan. Investigate, get reviews, compare pricing. Heck, book the smaller vendors (cake, video, etc.) at this years pricing!!! I agree with Tammi, most travel agents don't understand the importance of early notification. True, many hotels can't give rates but they can give you estimates, confirm dates, and give you there list of services. By being ahead of the game you have the pick of dates, catering managers are often more flexible, and you can SAVE to pay for the big day. Both locations you have selected have plenty of options. Cabo has become so popular, Mayan area may be a better bargain. Good luck to you! P.S. Instead of a save the date, mail out a we're engaged card stating your DW intentions. This will allow potential guests to get in the mind frame that they will have to save for a trip.

Janet, your centerpieces are proof that centerpieces don't have to break the budget. We have decided to use our coordinator for the glass cylinder centerpeices and I will be bringing votives alreasy in glass holders. I think that each family member will pack a box since they get heavy. Other decor items that I will be bringing include: DIY packable arch Woven fans Tiny starfish Tiny shells Cake topper/cake knife I really liked how the paper lanterns turned out so we may do that as well. We're going to try to pack as much as we can. I have heard mixed reviews about shipping.

We're going to Cabo for our site visit over New Yrs but I haven't organized anything yet for that visit! I was going to use Blanca as a coordinator but it sometimes takes a while for her to respond. Should I have her coordinate all of our vendor meetings during our site visit, or should I do it? There is so much info on this forum, I kind of have an idea of who we should meet with. Also, how did you girls contact Juan? I keep reading the rave reviews and want to see if he is available on 6/3. I will take TONS of pics when we are down there and post a review afterwards. Does anyone need me to do anything for them in Cabo? I'll be there 12/28-1/5 (with a trip to Todo Santos & La Paz as well if we can fit it in). Do most Dreams brides do everything at Dreams (welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner...)? We want to do our wedding on the beach and will def have our reception there but I wasn't sure if we should go off site one of the nights for a welcome thing or our rehearsal dinner... Also, did anyone plan any daily activities for your guests? We may have ~80 people! One other thing - I LOVE the lantern idea (rebecca)... maybe some of us could share since most of us are getting married in May/June...? Jen I've arranged to host a welcome party at the beach on property and the only activities are golf and spa. Trying to arrange transportation got costly and if people got too drunk while in the city I didn't want to be responsable. Plus the prcing at Dreams couldn't be beat.

Welcome, last I knew outside vendors for catering other than cake isn't an option. As someone who as tasted the food, it's top notch and isn't reminiscent of an AI. Besides, asking someone else to cook would bypass a perk of getting married at Dreams (only paying the set-up fee). For 20-25 people, 10k will suffice! I know that planning can be overwhelming but we are all here to help. As I tell all brides, invision your day and then go ffrom there. I am also a Dreams bride and 85% finished planning so ask me whatever you'd like. Good Luck!!!

What do you think of this knock-off?
JPMO replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
KAsh I think that the knock-off is more than fine. Don't worry yourself before you even get the finished product. I am having my dress made as well by an ebay seller and truth is if it's not exactly like the original we still haven't spent a lot of money on it. By the way I also love this ML dress. You're going to look great in it. Have you tried on the original? If not go try it and take very detailed pics of the fit. A lot of seastresses can sew from sight and maybe she can make all of the necessary changes based upon the pics. -
Your Saving $$/Budget tips
JPMO replied to TammyWright's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
FI and I have gotten rather frugal. All change goes to the wedding account...that adds up quickly. Don't eat out as often Keep travel to a minimum Use Ebay to negotiate pricing Use craigslist to negotiate pricing Coupons! Coupons! From grocery, to Michaels it all makes a difference -
Welcome to the board ATL! Ask whatever you'd like we'll be sure to help.

His little girl's a Bride today, and I am counting on you. Let me feel his presence; as I journey down the isle. But let me notice his abscence; if only for a while. Let me stop to think of him; As I am given away. And know that if he could; he would be here with me today. Dear Lord please clear a spot for him; he should have the perfect view. And if he should get sad today; Dear Lord I count on you. The only question would be where and how do I use it. I dont want to read it or have it read. Maybe put on a scroll that could be passed out on the way to be seated for the ceremony, any ideas? I've lost my Mom (birth) as well and this by far has been the most touching poem that I have read. I would shy away from printing it in the program since it would definately evoke some emotions. I was going to light a candle in my mothers memony and now that I've read this poem I would just include that next to it or on it.(may I borrow?) How about a memorial chair? Or embroidered/iron-on on a hankie? Or place the poem on a ribbon wand?

Start bugging Jeff and ask him what he would like to do about the ceremony part... also let me know what Mariana replies, i wonder if she will be using the cheaper florist now that Tammy (host) gave her I'm just in my last semester at school will be done on Dec 9 if I pass my hardest class; corporate finance (keep ur fingers crossed for me) I'm scared cause I just can't seem too pass this class and it's holding me back from graduating...AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! so after that is done I will be on here lots more planning OK enough said whenever we see you logged on we have to boot you off so you can study. I definately think that you can take some time off from planning too. Relax and think about how you are going to celebrate your graduation.

How about giving her a scripture or poem to read. Also include her in the "official" wedding party processional. Re: flowers Since my bridal party isn't carrying bouquets I plan on having the moms carry small nosegays of roses (probably 4 + fillers). I also really liked the idea of moms carrying either a purse floral arrangement or bible with flowers attached.

Especially if you don't cringe at the idea of planning your own wedding or doing a bit more work. I've hired Sunset Weddings at the rate of approx. $1500 and they don't have much to do at all.

Hey there fellow Dreamers!!!! I am sure all of you know me by now... Rebecca, here's a question for you. Do you have any pics of the lanterns? How they were strung? I am having such a hard time imagining where they hung the lanterns from. Trees? Lighting posts? I caught a glimpse in your pics and really liked the idea. Did you have to provide the lanterns and Dreams strung the lights. Please advise...

Rebecca's LONG Official Wedding Review
JPMO replied to REBECCA's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Thanks so much for your thorough review Rebecca. You have reminded me to be very precise with my requests.
