If you love the dress, and it seems that you do, and this person seems reputable, then I don't see why you shouldn't save $800. Maybe you can pay for it with a credit card so that you can always dispute the charge if something goes wrong? One thing I learned when trying on dresses is that they can look way different on you than in the photos, so keep and open mind and try on everything! Hi girls, Interested in your thoughts on this topic. Next month I am going to be making my own invitations. I am trying to decide if we should: A) Include a traditional RSVP card with envelope and stamp Include a RSVP card directing people to RSVP online at our personalized wedding website C) Both The pro to including both is that people can choose what is easiest for them. However, it means I need to design, purchase, and assemble the RSVP cards, and pay for the stamps on the envelopes. Would it be so wrong to just do Option B I have no elderly/non-internet-accessible people coming to the wedding. Even my grandma gets online. Do you think people will think it is tacky? Since I am already doing a non-traditional wedding, does it matter if I have a non-traditional RSVP system? Anyway, you can see that what I want to do is just do online, but I feel unsure of it. Here is mine: It's Casablanca 1825 - Unfortunately I won't be able to have a pic of myself in it until August when it arrives!!! I ordered it from www.netbride.com and am saving about $250 that way (not a lot, but every little bit helps, I guess). What I like about it: The shape and the simplicity -- it's actually less "poofy" in real life I think. The sash will go with the boys wearing khaki (I hope!) and the tails are removable for the reception! It's made of a really different silk that I just fell in love with too. I ended up paying $10 for having the back in color, and $25 for the 2 day shipping (I was being impatient!) and that was it -- and I loved the quality. People really liked them when they got them in the mail. (and only 33 cents apiece, and 24 cent stamps I think?) Hi girls, Just wanted to let you know that David Flores finally wrote me back today (which people kept saying he would do eventually, but it was good to hear from him anyway). Of course, he was totally nonchalant about it... he said: "Hello Janet, dont worry you can write me all the times you need, and I have the day in my calendar for you, so we dont have any problem for your wedding, I hope to see you realy soon here in Cabo, and thank you very much to choice my services." So, I just hope all the people who are hiring him before November (my wedding month) are happy so I don't stress about it. Hi girls, DJ Antares recommended me a classical guitar player and when I looked at his website it looks like he is a DJ too. His name is David Flores Velasquez. www.avlsystems.com.mx I am going to book him to play guitar at my ceremony and cocktail hour (the demos on his website sound great!) at $250/hr. I am going to go with DJ Antares for my DJ, since he is friends with David, and David didn't want to steal Antares' business or anything. His contact info is on his website. I forget the exact details, but it had something to do with unprofessionally backing out of a wedding at the last minute, though she did say that he sent a replacement. Hi ladies, I have been interviewing (via email) five photographers in Cabo to get different rates, styles, info like that. I have put it all into a spreadsheet and I am willing to email it to you if you think it would be helpful. Some of the info is more tailored to my event (like availability on my wedding date) but some of it would be the same for any date (prices, style, etc). The five I have info on are: Jose Lima(Baja Image Bank), Manuel Burgoin(Weddings in Los Cabos), Francisco Estrada(Photomexico), Peter Hatton(Images by Peter), and Bradley Fraser(cabofoto). I have information on: website, rates, style, end product, notes, and whether or not I have heard a recommendation. Right now I only have Tara Null's recommendation but I could get more in the future. I have to say that I emailed these people yesterday and each one responded within 24 hours, many within 12 hours. So far I have not made a decision because I feel I have a lot of great choices! If anyone thinks this is helpful and wants a copy, please just email me.
