Kate, you can actually register for a charity! Donation Registries

Oh Kash -- the one thing I have heard about Target is that it's a PITA to keep up your registry there because they change their stock so much. Things are always "unavailable"...just what I've heard....
  4. Our registries are still up on our wedding website (link below) in case you are reallllllllly bored, but maybe you could register somewhere non traditional like Amazon. Then you can pick out things you really want! (We registered for luggage, tools, and bathrobes there) My favorite registry was Crate and Barrel, just cause I love their stuff so much. BB&B is good because you can get cash back. Or so I hear...I haven't tried it.
  5. welcome! I live in DC, so we are kinda neighbors That is too cute you have pics of the proposal! My husband forgot to even bring a camera...duhhh (I guess he was more nervous about other things!)

Jenetta - no flowers at the Mega, sorry I don't remember seeing candles either, but they may have a few. Alisa -- thanks for the review (even though we ahd already emailed )
  7. Welcome! That's exciting that your wedding day is coming so soon. I don't know about your hotel in particular...but I am sure someone will!
  8. Hey Tammy, I'm sorry you are feeling so stressed....big hugs!!!!!!! I might suggest that you just put off the wedding planning for a few weeks, until things get better in other areas, like maybe until January. You are so far in your planning I'm sure it would be okay to put that aside. Also, make sure to take care of yourself however you can...go to the gym, get a manicure, retail therapy, more sleep...whatever you can do to pamper yourself a little bit?
  9. Amy, what a great story! My FI did the same kind of thing where I was pestering him ("you act like getting married is like getting a root canal!") and then he just caught me off guard and surprised me. men are cute sometimes
  10. welcome! There is tons of info on here about seating charts, OOT bags, vows...etc...basically lots of things that have to do with the last 6 weeks of planning. What do you have left on your to do list?
  11. It can be done....I think! One of the girls on the board planned her wedding in 6 weeks I think the key is to be flexible, especially with dates. Welcome to the boards!

  13. I used Netbride - discount bridal gowns, wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and loooooved them. Saved ~$300 on my Casablanca. And it came 2 months early!
  14. Tasha those are so cute. My favorite is the 2nd one

I thought about getting that Nicole Miller dress at the top of the list but when I tried it on for my sister her eyes nearly bugged out of her head when she saw how much of my boobs were showing....lol...needless to say it went quickly into the NO pile. I loooooooved the dress though. If only my girls were a little smaller!
  16. welcome stefanie!!! Your day is coming quickly
  17. You could do a mix of the light pink (oriental?) and all white lillies. The pink would match the tone of the dresses but be lighter...and the white would keep it simple.
  18. Welcome Taryn! I just got married in Cabo and loved it...you will too! I don't know much about private villas though. Also, do a search on this board of your coordinator's name. I can't remember what other girls have said about her, but I'm thinking there is probably something. (I say this because you made it sound like your decision on her wasn't final yet and it's always good to check first, Cabo has a few not-so-good coordinators!) As for your save the dates, I think 1.5 yrs in advance will be plenty early. They sound really cute!
  19. So I made a book in iPhoto, uploaded it to MyPublisher, and ordered it for 50% off (woo hoo!) and it just came today (only a 2-day turnaround - impressive!). My initial thoughts: Perhaps I had really high expectations, but I think the book is good, but not great. I don't think it will be my ultimate wedding album. But it will be great to have around to show people. Being able to do all the work in iPhoto was the best part. I don't know what the MyPublisher bookmaker software is like though (I don't have a PC). The parts I don't love: The photos are a tad darker than they appear on the screen. If I order more, I will lighten in photoshop first. The pics near the binding get cut off by the binding a little. Don't put anything really important right in the crease. The paper is a little thinner than ideal, at least for a fabulous album. The size overall just seems a little small to me. I think I want something bigger than 8.5x11. (You can do bigger with regular MyPublisher, but not with iPhoto/MyPublisher, unfortunately.) I'll take some photos of the book when I get home to try to show you all some of these things.
  20. Natasha, you may have just surpassed MariaElena for the Super Organized award
  21. Great review, Natasha. Thank you for all the detail and thoughfulness. I am so jealous that you had a two week honeymoon!!!!!!!!
  22. I really liked DJ Antares, although he told me he rarely does weddings himself anymore. I think brides get referred to other DJs through the company he works with. They seem to get good reviews though! (see Meaghan's review) I would suggest having a friend be there for backup emcee duties in case your DJ isn't great at emceeing. Our best man emceed everything and did a great job.
  23. Same problem here with our 4:30 ceremony. Except I have tons of great wedding party pics, hardly any great pics of just the two of us. oh well, right? I wish we had a 4:00 ceremony.
