  1. gorgeous! stunning! beautiful!!!!! you two are so obviously crazy about each other
  2. I love that all the money go right into the artist's/designer's pocket - it's a great way to support indie/small businesses!
  3. I love Etsy too! I got all my BM's earrings on there, and ohhhh I've spend way too much $$ in general on that site.
  4. Awwwww I love it!!!! Okay so I am biased because that was our wedding song, but still, the pics are great!
  5. Our sun set around 5:15 or 5:30 and a regret not having a little more sunshine for photos. if anything, err on the side of too early
  6. are you sure it's still light out at 6:30?? Our dancing ended at maybe 11 pm but our ceremony was at 4:30 4:30 ceremony 5:00 cocktail hour 6:30 dinner/cake/toasts 8-11 dancing (or something like that?) It was perfect and we were all plenty drunk after 3 hours of open bar. An extra hour might have been very bad
  7. Congrats! You will love it there. I think people will be fine eating at the restaurant, but having lots of snacks is a good idea too. I personally would recommend that you tell guests to rent cars. It's so much easier to get around when you can drive yourself. You can explore all kinds of different things with a cheapy little rental car. I think a welcome dinner off-site is a great idea, and if you are worried about transportation you could always have it in San Jose because it's a lot closer. Armando is really great and super chill. I would recommend that you keep a written record of everything you agree to, because it will be helpful just in case there is anymiscommunication or forgetfulness as you go through the process. The hotel really is a wonderful place - perfect for a wedding.
  8. Yeah definitely check out Karla's pics on Juan Carlos Tapia's site.
  9. I had it about a year ago and my eyes were really, really dry for about 6 weeks and I saw "halos" around lights at night. Are you using Systane eyedrops all the time (At about the 6 week mark, all my symptoms were gone and have never come back, btw)
  10. Great review! please pretty please post some non-pro pics?!??!
  11. have you tried this site? it's where I got mine: Natural Straw Fans (12 pcs)
  12. I used limes and candles and one big lily on each table. I estimate that each table's decor cost less than $10. What are your colors?
  13. Here is one of me saying "Do I have anything in my teeth?" I swear I say that like 15 times a day
  14. I've ordered personalized stationery from American Stationery in the past and been happy with the products.
  15. My hubby also has a white gold band with a thin strip of yellow gold down the middle. It's very subtle. I'm trying to remember the name of the designer, because they had lots of two-toned rings...but I forget.
  16. You can buy iPhoto books two ways. One is thru iPhoto directly, the other is thru MyPublisher. They are of similar quality but I might give a slight edge to the iPhoto ones. However, with the 40% off coupon codes on MyPublisher, those are WAY cheaper. Either way, you can do all of the design in iPhoto, making it super easy.
  17. I love that place! It's where I found the placemat things for our centerpieces for like $4. If you sign up for their online newsletter they will send coupons/sale info too!
  18. welcome! what kind of wedding are you envisioning? We might be able to help suggest venues. Big, small, formal, private, beach, gazebo...?
  19. I just posted this on Ann's thread: You can make some pretty cool collages and other assorted things using flickr and flickr tools. I used the mosaic maker for my siggy.
  20. We were really open about it (hello I am such a blabbermouth) and while I am glad we didn't "hide" anything or deceive anyone, I kinda wish we had been slightly more discreet about it. It's a pain having to explain to people that you consider the paperwork to be a formality only, that the wedding is your "real" wedding, etc.
  21. I feel like I remember this coming up once long, long ago and peonies not being available (they are a spring flower) or just being REALLY REALLY expensive...it might have been on the old forum though. (I know, I am ancient.)
  22. I absoutely loved San Jose more than Cabo San Lucas, but that's just more "me" - it's still kinda grimy and dirty in places, but I guess I just found it more charming.
