I love being out with friends, having great food, not having the worry about cooking or cleaning... but there's a reason restaurant food tastes so much better than my food at home... it's all the fat and sugar they add! I mean who would ever melt a stick of butter into their pasta sauce? But that's why their food always tastes so good... i wonder if I would eat any of it is I actually knew what was in it! OK, I'm on my way to the store (defintyiely have to look for that bread!) to stock up on good for you/ low-point food! I'm going to be honest. I rarely went out to eat or drank alcohol for a good 2 months. You're right, you have no control what you're eating when you go to a restaurant. But, if you reference Dottie's website, you can tell your FI or friends that you need to go to one of the restaurants on the list. You can select what you're going to order before you even leave the house. (PF Changs has some decent options.) Also, a trick is to order some chicken broth-based soup as soon as you sit down, so you don't snack on the evil bread and butter!!! Then, when you get your entree, have the waitress bring a to go box right away & put half in the box. Then you can clean your plate and not feel guilty. Out of site, out of mind! I'll try to fill in the WW folder with foods and tricks as soon as I can.

Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to do our seating chart. At first we had a sweetheat table for Marc & I, 4 rounds of 8-10 and 2 rectangles of 11. Well, My Fi decided he wanted us to sit with both our parents since they don't know each other very well. Both our parents are there with there friends and are sort of on vacation too. I have a feeling they would rather sit with their friends. So my FI is taking that like I think my parents would be uncomfortable with his parents. Also, we need more tables if we do it this way and we have to put some younger people with some of the older people. I just think everyone would be happier and have more fun with the first seating chart. Anyway, in the end of the "discussion" he said "your right we'll just do it the original way" (sweetheart table). But I feel like he was just giving in. What do you plan to do? And what did you do for those that already got married. Sorry for the long post...thanks!!

Hi Kash, Yes, I am doing a lot of push up and freeweights. Shoulders, chest, triceps and biceps. I'm also trying to do a lot of quats for my booty. I am seeing my personal trainer 3 times a week until my wedding. So I just need to squeeze in an additional workout or two on my own. I always blow my eating on the weekends though! It's is so hard for me to stay on a program when I'm at home!! I'm alittle concerned when I get to Cabo too. We will be there 4 days before the wedding. I am going to have to be really good eating & drinking for 4 days in a hotel. That's hard! I can't get bloated or my dress won't fit.

It is 1 point for 2 slices! There are a couple of different "sara Lee Whole wheat" choices, be sure to read the label and find the one with the serving size = 2 slices (90 calories per serving). Also, "western alternative bagels". The "alternative" part is the key. Those are one point per bagel and are YUMMY. great for snacks or even sandwiches.

I recommend the Flex Program. Portions are very important. So you you are like me and can't stop eating when it tastes good, go for the Flex program. Plus you can eat anything. Should we start a WW Folder for recipes and tips? If someone wants to start it, I can fill it with all sorts of tips, low points foods and tricks that helped me keep it interesting.

Where do you live?? I also live in Southern Cal...Newport beach to be exact. I bought my dress at David's Bridal. It was $599.00. The great thing about it is that they allow up to one exchange if you need a different size or change your mind and want a different style. I took advantage and exchanged mine for a different style. Sometimes if you buy too early, your taste changes, whixh is what happend to me. I would recommend getting it altered elswhere though. The ream you on alterations. If you fall in love with a designer gown, buy it online and get it altered at this great place I found. It is called Wedding Belles in Costa Mesa, CA. It is a woman who works out of her home and makes dresses. She copies designer gowns all of the time. If you have a dress made, you have to remember that the cost of alterations is included in the price. If you buy it retail or online, you have to remember to add $200 - $400 for alterations depending on what you need. I don't know how to attach a picture or I would post mine. Sorry -
The Fat Jeans/Skinny jeans is a great idea! My sister calls them "goal" Jeans. She'll by a pair of jeans the don't quite fit, and once a month (not everyday) she'll try them on. When they finally fit, she can wear them and buys another pair of goal jeans. It is important not to try them on more than once a month. It can get discouraging if you happen to have a bloated day, and they don't fit. Sarah, if you have to eat around the clock due to your job, then just make sure to snack the entire time. I think as long as you're moving around, you're burning it off. Maybe try to stop eating 3 hours before you know you're going to bed? Also, if you start to feel hungry, you could actually be thirsty. A wise friend once told me that if I get hunger pains, try drinking a whole glass of water. If the hunger pains return, then I need to eat. Sometimes you'll find that that is all your body needed...water.

YUM! My FI will love this. Thanks!

I have done that too but added sliced red bell peppers and some turkey breast. It IS good!! I have been considering making low fat cheese burgers (4% lean fat ground beef) and instead of a bun, using, a big fat slice of red bell pepper on each side. Can you tell I love bell peppers?

That is the perfect way to do it. The most important part is not to stress about it.

I've never been one to exercise, and didn't need to until I went to nursing school. That stress put on about 20 lbs, then I switched to night shift last year and promptly put on another 10. On someone only 5'1", an extra 30lbs is a lot! I've started doing Body for Life (very old program, similar to South Beach Diet, so I'm told) and exercising but I'm seeing very slow results. I want to lose 25 lbs before the wedding. Any suggestions? The best tip I can give is to NOT cut out carbs, but to eat SMALL portions and snack on string cheese, yogurt and fruit throughout the day. That was the hardest thing that I had to train myself to do. Those Lean Cuisine-sized portions should be your portion size. I always ate huge meals because I was afraid I'd get hungry...well guess what? When you get hungry again...you eat a snack! Once I figured out that I would never go hungry, the small portions worked fine for me. Plus I would eat one of those Sugar Free Jello Pudding cups (sugar free, not fat free) with a scoop of fat free cool whip on top every night for dessert. Those are really yummy!!!

Hi Ladies, I thought it would be supportive to help each other by Sharing low calories, tasty recipes. Afterall, the only reason we eat bad is because we want something that tastes good. This recipe of mine is really good and low calorie and low in fat! CHICKEN IN WINE SAUCE INGREDIENTS: 4 Boneless Chicken Breasts 1 box fresh Chopped Mushrooms 10 Cloves fresh minced garlic 6 scallions, chopped 2 tsp basil 1/8 tsp salt 1 tbsp Corn Starch 2/3 c Fat Free Chicken Broth 2/3 c Sherry Cooking Wine 1 box Long Grain & Wild Rice (Near East is the brand I like) COOKING INSTRUCTIONS - Tenderize Chicken and lightly sprinkle both sides with salt & pepper, set aside - Begin rice - Spray large skillet with Pam & mince garlic right into the pan - Sauté Scallions, garlic, mushrooms, basil and salt for 3 minutes or until soft - Add chicken broth, sherry wine and chicken breasts - Cover & bring to a boil. Once it start boiling, lower heat and simmer covered for 20 – 25 minutes (cut into chicken to check after 20 minutes). - While chicken is cooking, combine cornstarch and a little more chicken broth in a small bowl. Wisk together until there are no lumps. - When chicken is done, pull it out and set on a plate. - Stir cornstarch mixture into the mushroom sauce, bring to a boil and simmer until thick (3 to 5 minutes). - Scoop mushroom sauce over chicken and serve with 1/3 cup of rice.

This is a great idea!! I have been so busy I haven't worked out in 2 weeks and I have fallen off my diet. The result is 4 lbs!!!! So today I plan to go straight to the gym and do 20 min of cardio and then some squats and push ups. Push ups are great for that "arm pit" fat and the back of the arms. I have been trying to do pushups every morning and night. Do as many as you can and do the same amount again that evening. If you start out doing 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening, that is 16 per day X 7 = 112 a week! Then, the following week, bump it up to 10. It only takes maybe a minute out of your life, so we can't complain about time When I was first trying to lose weight, my trainer said to do cardio for 45 minutes at least 3 times a week. He would say, if you can talk, you're not working hard enough. He also put me on a 1200 calorie a day diet, but Weight Watchers was very similar, and easier!

I am using Trio Gutarists for the cermony and cocktail hour. Then switching to a DJ for dinner and reception. I booked my Trio through Maye and I am paying $540 for two hours. She said they will play "romantic mexican music" as I walk down the aisle. I love that. I think it will be a nice change to traditional American music.

Thanks!! Time is flying by SOO fast. I just returned from my tradeshow in Vegas (that I coordinated). It was a long exhausting week. I am leaving for a wedding in DC on Thursday. My FI is a groomsman. Then I come back and have my shower, then my wedding is ony a few weeks away. I can't believe it!! I am getting excited and alittle anxoius. There are still som many "little" details that I am afraid I might forget. I need to start making a list.
