I agree with Ann. Go try it on again, and try other dresses on. You have lost some weight since your last venture, so you never know... you may find a different dress that is less $$ and you love just as much. That is what happened to me. luckily I was able to exchange my dress one time (David's Bridal) and LOVED my second dress so much more. I decided in the beginning that I did not want to drop a third of my budget on my gown that I would wear once. I just didn't even go into the salons. I didn't want to be tempted. A friend of mine dropped 4K on her dress and now two years later she said that when she thinks of the cash she dropped on her dress it makes her feel sick. But at the time she was so caught up in the moment. I remembered that story when I went dress shopping and it just reassured me that I didn't want to spend too much on my dress. BUT, if you go and try dresses on again and still, the scarlet is just THE ONE, then I say go for it. If you are going to have regrets about not getting it, then just do it. It is your wedding day and you only will have one. It is a gorgeous gown and I know you'll be able to sell it if you can part with it after...it's hard. You sort of get attached to your dress after the wedding. All I'm saying is just think about it and be 100% sure. Have ou thought of buying the one off the rack? They will usually discount it.

That is a bummer. I don;t see why they can't rent freestanding pillars or something to connect them to? I like the floor lanterns that Jenetta suggested. Those would be pretty too!

Yes...exactly! In fact a few times he would just laugh and say...that doesn't look natural...do it this way. It is our insticnt to pose for pictures. And that's usually why home pictures suck. He is good...we had fun! -

I don't think i need silk as long as it moves the same way and really a cheaper lace is fine as long as it's still pretty! I hope she's familiar with the dress - I love that she can get more pictures of it too since she's a reseller! I'll let you know what happens! And honestly if I can get a dress that is identical to the one I want (whether it says Monique Lhuillier on the label or not) then $2K would be worth it... I;d rather not spend that much since a custom made dress has less resale value but still it's still less than 50% of the original price so there's something to be said for that! Who knows! Maybe I'll go to the store and Thursday and me and Sarah can be matching brides! What Natasha has pics I'm going to look right now!

Thanks Ladies! It's funny during the time he is shooting, he'll say okay run. And you feel like such an idiot, but when the pictures come out it really does capture it. That is why were were laughing so much, because we felt like such dorks during the process/ But I guess that is the point, to capture the reall expressions and emotions. You're next!! YAY!!! I remember that feeling....believe me, you'll miss having the wedding to look forward to! -
Hey ladies, I was told by a nutritionist that a woman's weight fluctuates twice a month. During ovulation and just before your period. So don'r get down on yourself if your weight doesn't reflect a huge loss on a given week. It is probably one of these water retention days and the very next day you could be down 2 pounds! It will all balance out in the end...just try to stay focused! Also, if you are feeling like all you want to do is eat...then try to get creative and make a lowfat version of what you are craving. Once I was craving nachos loaded with cheese. Well, the real version of that would be like 1000 calories (or in the points world, 25 point). Wll I bought the Lays Reduced fat tortilla chips, measured out one portion, bought a can of fat free vegetairan chili, fat free sour cream, reduced fat cheese and baked them in the oven. It satisfied my craving and, granted it might have been like 6 points, but, if I have given into the craving and went to Tacl Bell or something it would have been a lot worse. It is alway better to make it yourself than to eat out!!

But, today I'm back to being good. I weigh in on Friday- we'll see how it goes:) Sarah... You are Soo ME with your eating. I never have been able to resist pizza (nor will I I ever be able to). So I had to find a weight loss program that allowed me to have pizza every week. That is just not negotiable as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with Natasha that to have a mariachi band would be great for the guests while you're getting photos taken. I used the Trio for cocktail hour and everyone LOVED them. Do the Mariachi's sing? I believe that Maye told me that The trio sings and palys while the mariachis just play music? That is why I chose the trio. Also, I started my ceremony at 4:30 and we lost the light fast! I would say plan your ceremont to start an hour before sunset. -

Meahgan's Wedding & Dreams Resort Review
REBECCA replied to MEAHGAN's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Nice review Meaghan! We got champagne brought up to the room and didn't have any trouble (probably because you went through all of that the day before me) Ha hA. But I made my request for two bottles of champagne to Mariana earlier in the day. I told her the day and time and they arrived promptly. My suggestion to the other girls is to use Mariana as much as possible! We didn't get rose petals on the bed until our wedding night either. But I didn't even think of that stuff, so I was actually surprised when I saw the room decorated on our wedding night! Your wedding was beautiful! I watched your first dance from our balcony! -

Kash-- Have you ML sneak a picture of you in the dressing room. Send the sales assistant off to get another style or something and take a few pictures. Then take it to a dress maker to have it made. I think that is the best idea! If you look in the yellowpages, you can usually find a bridal dress maker in your area. Go meet with her (or him), have them show you pictures of their work, show them your picture. The good thing about having dresses made is that the alterations and all fittings are included ing the price. Alterations are expensive! Plus you can pic the fabric (touch & feel it) first and pick everything out. I think this is your best bet. If you are going to take this route, you should get on it pretty quickly!

Thanks Ladies. I felt guilty for months, I was so mad at myself for not being more patient!

How long have you and your husband / fiance been together?
REBECCA replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Marc and I met in New York City over Thanksgiving weekend 4 years ago. I was visiting my friend who lived there and he was visiting his friend who lived there. Well our two friends knew each other and a big group of us got together to go see a band play. Marc & I got to talking and it turned out we both lived in Newport Beach, CA 2 miles from each other and worked down the street from each other?!? We ended up hitting it off and he called me when he got back. We had our first date over lunch and the rest is history. We got engaged after 3 years, but have been together 4 years total! He is soo wonderful and I never thought I would ever meet someone I am so compatible with. I never had any insecutities or any doubts about his feelings for me, or my own for that matter. It felt so easy. It has never been so easy and I have never been so happy. -
Aww? That is a beautiful story. My husband proposed to me after we got into a big fight about why we weren't engaged yet Didn't I feel like the biggest idiot? It turned out he had a plan of asking my dad for my hand, but he wanted to do it in person and my parents live in AZ, etc. So it took a little longer than he had thought. He had the friggin ring for like 2 months...who does that And, in my defense, we had agreed that we would get engaged before the end of the year (this discussion happened in, like March), so When December came and my girlfriend that had been with her boyfriend for a year, called to say they were engaged, one thing led to another and were in a full blow fight After we made up, I was laying on the couch, all puffy-eyed, crying, he started telling me how much he loved me, blah blah blah and he said oh what the hell, there's no better time than now and ran into the room and came back with a ring. By then I was balling (happy [and a little guilty] tears) feeling like the biggest idiot saying "I'm Sorry I ruined it" over and over. He is so sweet, he just kept telling me that the moment was perfect and that he kept putting it off bcz he couldn't find the right moment. And that this moment felt like the right time and he figured he should seize the moment rather than try to create it. So he ran out and got Champagne while I cleaned myself up a little and came back from the store with a red rose and we drank champagne on the floor by the Christmas tree with all the lights out and candles lit. We turned it into a romantic moment. It was probably thee most emotionally charged moment in my life actually. Oops Sorry Ali! I'd rather not post this in my own thread, it's not the most romantic story...so I'll hide out in your thread if you don't mind
