  1. Okay girls, What's the damage? Part of being successful on this program is being accountable. I was UP 0.4 which isn't too bad, but in 3 weeks I have only lost 0.8..... that IS bad! I'm focusing today!! I'm going to try.....no I WILL be good this weekend!

I guess my girlfriends approached Mariana at Dreams the day before the wedding and they arranged the projector and screen. My girlfriend brought her our laptop which had the power point on there. I think they paid a couple hundred bucks to rent everything last minute. Marc and I were a little scared as to what we were about to see, but it ended up being really great. I guess at my bridal shower, the women concocted this plan and e-mailed my parents, Marc's family & friends to collect pictures of us growing up. I know, that is definitely something you want other people to do for you, it seems like too much work to do it yourself!

We are going to have 4 flower girls (my little nieces) so I want to be sure I add enough in our budget. Yes, they sprinkled the aisle with flower petals and the flower girl just added to it. It was funny, she was so upset when she saw there were flower petals already there when she began to walk down the aisle. I ordered 6 dozen rose petals for the aisle & paid $174.00. Then I ordered an additional 8 dozen petals for the table center pieces and paid $232.
  4. Thanks Girls! Lenita, The flowers I used were Mexican Lilies, Mexican Cala Lilies and green hydrangeas. I got the idea of the green hydrangeas from the In Style Wedding book. I wanted cala lilies & Orchids, but the cost of bouquet jumped from $95 to $145. So I chose the Mexican lilies over the orchids. I don’t know the florist, I ordered them through. I got them from Maye, my wedding coordinator. But I’m sure any florist will do it. They are all local flowers I think. Natalie, My friends surprised me with the slideshow. It was really cute, my friend got up and narrated. They were funny pictures of Marc and I as kids finding our way to each other. It was really cute.
  5. I would go with a solo gutarist and the fire dancers. I think you could create the same mood with a gutarist as you could a Mariachi Band. The fire dancers are cool bcz you don't see them everyday. It would be really memorable and go along with the "destination" or Mexico ambiance. fireworks you see every 4th of July.... Fireworks are cool, but some people have probably never seen firedancers!
  6. We met a couple in Playa Del Carmen that was honeymooning in Cozumel. They decided to explore the PDC and Playacar area by car one day and stumbled across the Aventura Spa Palace. They said it was the most gorgeous place they had ever seen and decided to move to that resort for the rest of their stay. I heard the Moon Palace got annihilated during the 2005 hurricane and still isn’t the same. You may want to do some research to find out if it is back to normal again?
  7. I have no tolerance for procrastinators. The way I look at it, they are all adults. My mom is the opposite. She plans things ridiculously early. Like if she is going to make a special dinner she'll be calling me 3 week in advance because she's makng the grocery list! Gotta love the moms!
  8. Hey Ann....again..sorry I'm late to this post! I like #3 the best. Then number two is my second choice. I have a super thin pave band with diamonds 3/4 of the way around. The darn thing always turns and the 1/4 section that has no diamonds always ends up on top. It drives me CRAZY!
  9. Thanks Christa..you're next!! WOW? 2 months! It will be here before you know it!
  10. Congrats! I agree with everyone, you looked so beautiful and the red was gorgeous!!! Welcome to the married club!
  11. Rebecca, Your photos or gorgeous!!! You look amazing!! Thanks for posting them. I love seeing everyones pics. __________________ Jessalyn Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar 06.23.07 Thanks everyone, I am happy to share! Thanks again for sharing your photos Rebecca. It really gets me thinking of all the details! It looks like you had the buffet for the dinner is that correct? Or is that the appetizers? If so, did you like the buffet set up? Still trying to decide between sit-down or buffet. Yes we did a Lobster and Filet buffett. Dreams charged us $20 more per person (so $40pp) without dessert. We figured the wdding cake would be the dessert. They put together an amazing spread of Filet, Lobster, Fettucine w/mushrooms, cheese ravioli, grilled veggies & beans & rice mixed together. It was SOOO good. We chose a buffet because we have several picky eaters in the family, so I wanted there to be something for everyone. Those photos are amazing. Were they included with the Dreams Wedding? Did you use the photographer that the hotel recommends or did you use an outside source? I hate to ask this but can I ask how much you spent on the photographer? Do they give you the negatives or a CD with the pictures on it? I booked Juan Carlos Tapia back before he was a DWF celebrity (ha ha). I paid $1400 for 4 hours of photography, the CD of all images and 200 prints. I know...I got SOO lucky! Now Juan has raised his prices, but SO worth the money. Knowing what I know now, I'd have paid double what I paid for him! His info is in the vendor file of this forum.

  14. I got married the day after Meahgan also at Dreams, so from my experience, I ended up spending around $19,700 for 60 people (including us). Now this included our rings, honeymoon and my dress. I attached my budget. We had our reception by the Oceana Pool and our ceremony in the gazebo. We ordered our cake through our WC and it was yummy. You will pay per person for the cake. They will decide what size you need depending on the number of people.
  15. Nice Christa! I like it. I like the color better than ours!
  16. WOW? 7.5lbs!?!? That is fantastic! Now that's motivation for all of us! Congrats!!
  17. Thanks Sherri, Yes, I love Dotties! I looked there first before I posted. My restaurant wasn't there. In fact I was looking for any Indian Food restaurant, just to get a good idea, and couldn't find anything? Oh well, the weekend has passed and I was a very bad girl. Those Damn football games just aren't as fun to watch without beer! I was down 2 lbs from at Friday's weigh in, but probably made some of it up in beer and not counting this weekend. Starting over this week. Going to my trainer tonight!
  18. Thanks girls! I got married at 4:30. The su set at 5:00. I would advise getting married at least an hour before sunset. The su was in everyone's eyes on the bride side of the Gazebo (and in my eyes). The picture of the guys on the wall were the groomsmen dancing to the YMCA. They got up there during a different song and we ran over to DJ Ricardo and asked him to play YMCA (even though it was on our DO NOT PLAY list.) The guys ate it up. There was a lot of tequila involved! I have another picture of my grandma on the dance floor doing the YMCA while watching the guys on the wall. Everyone was cracking up! I love it. My grandma is great.
  19. Very cute! I really like the one where you are laying on his back. It's really playful and natural!

For my engagement ring, my husband set it in a simple setting, then we went back to the jeweler an I designed my ow setting. For wedding bands, we figured it in the wedding budget, so we picked them out together.
  21. Angela, My grandma went too. She hung out by the quiet pool all day (she is a sun goddess though and in the evenings, there are shows, that can be corning, but very entertaining for the older folks. She will love it!
