Tammy, good point... I wonder what the cost would be if I don't tell them it's for a wedding! By the way where are you going ot be getting your pies from?

Tammy, your slkin looks so beautiful! It's hard for me to imagine you having skin damage. Sounds like a good product though!

Eternity band pros & cons?
gkashmira replied to MARIAELM's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think I'm going to go with a half band. Especially since as Natasha brought up the eternity band can't be resized... since I'm going to be wearing the ring forever I want to make sure it'll always fit... also my E-ring has small diamonds around only half of it so it could match... Other thing is whatever you end up getting you could always a get a "new" one at an anniversary if you want to change it. A friend of mine has a simple white gold band from her wedding and is planning on getting one with diamonds for her 1st wedding anniversary... so at least you know that you're not "stuck" with something. I'm sure that no matter what you pick you'll love it. P.S. I am the worst typer in the world - sorry for my constant typos! -
That stand is exactly what I meant - doesn't that look so cute? We were considering the pie idea ourselves! But my dad sure wantys that cake (who knows why - I'm not even sure he eats cake!)

So i was having two thoughts about wedding cake. For one thing I'm not that crazy about cake to begin with. BUT my dad seems really upset by the idea of us not have a wedding cake. The Hilton charges either 10/pp or a 3/pp "cutting fee" if you bring your cake in from outside... so with let's say 50 people that's a $500 cake! So this brings me to my next point - cupcakes. A) Do you think if we served individual serving/ wrapped (therefore no plates or forks needed) cupcakes I could talk the Hilton into waiving the $3/pp "cutting fee." At this point there would be nothing to cut and they couldn't even say that we would need their plates and service... I just like the idea of cupcakes - a friend even said that you can buy these tiered cupcake trays to put them together in the shape of a cake! So on that note, any recommendations for bakeries? I wonder if cupcakes would be more or less expensive. I feel like then should be less... I mean who's ever heard of a $10 cupcake!?! Even here is Los Angeles that's outrageous!
-
Tammy, do you know what the prices are for Tabasco? I saw the open bar price at the bottom but wasn't sure what the dinner/pp price was... maybe I'm just missing it...

Christa, That's hilarious! I'm sure with veto power firmly in hand your mom will look great -
Liza, you're going to LOVE the food (unless you've tried it already and know how good it is!). For people who are interested in learnign more check out: http://www.mexicoboutiquehotels.com/casanatalia/ and their website: http://www.casanatalia.com We decided to go witht he Hilton for our wedding but loved this place so much we're going to do our Rehearsal Dinner here. Did I mention that you get your own private hammock on your own private patio to lounge in? Plus if you do have your wedding with them and reserve the whole place (14 of 16 rooms to take over the hotel) they automitically upgrad ethe brdige/groom to a suite... which has it's own hot tub (I think) onthe balcony.

I love this place! The food is SO amazing and the rooms are each gorgeous. The whole experience here is very luxurious. The church (the one if Tammy's pic) is less than one block away so if you're Catholic and getting married there this would be a lovely place for a reception. Nathalie, the owner has worked with Maye Cortinas the wedding coordinator before. Each night you select what items you'd like for breakfast and it's delivered to your private patio each morning at the time you request. There's probably 5 courses (if you can eat that much). She can help arrange a beach ceremony if you're interested but it would be off-sight of course. But the food is SO SO SO good!

Who have peoiple used and liked so far? We were going ot do an iPod wedding but now my family is pressing for a DJ... Has anyone had anyone they really liked? People keep mentioning DJ Anteres (is that right) - did you like him? The prices for DJs are SO out of control! I am still coming to terms with paying that much money for someone to play other people's music... How have the ladies who've used iPods do? I'm trying to convince my family that this is the way to go...

I couldn't find the place I was talking about but it looks like this sight could be really helpful. It's a photographer's sight BUT it has tons of albums from different wedding sand you could look through them to see if yu can find a location that you like. Then you could just contact the palce directly: http://www.weddings.co.cr/albums/newest_weddings.html I've had people at work stay at the Marriott in San Jose which is a lovely resort but inside the resort doesn't feel too much like "Costa Rica" so it may not be what you're looking for...

Wizzie, Check out some of the hotels/inns up in the mountains north of San Jose. I've never been there but I was putting together some stuff for work there and came across some GORGEOUS places only a hour or so from the airport. I'll try and find the place online and post the link...

I am going to hold out for the "free" offer now that I know everyone gets them all the time! I saw some really cute postcard on their website. Jennifer, where did you get the magnets and how did you attach them? Is that something I could find at Michaels? I would love to do the postcards and then stick a little business card magnet in as a reminder for people to out up on the fridge... What would I do without you guys!!!!!!!!

El Encanto Inn has had some terrible reviews on Trip Advisor. People who are interested in getting married there should read them first. But we did quickly sneak in a take a look when we were in Cabo and it seemed cute. It was night time and I couldn't tell what the pool looked like but the grounds were nice. However it is pretty far from the beach and another small hotel that is in the same area that is much lovelier is Casa Natalia (though they don't have a chapel). To reserve the chapel you can request it online and then you have I think, it's 10 days to pay (no credit cards) by cash or check a $1600 sight fee. So sort of a scary commitments. I hate the idea of paying on anythign other than a cc because at least you have the protection your card gives you if things don't work out.

Stephanie, Good tip! i just registered with them last night so maybe they'll send a "free" coupon! Merryme - good advice about Costco Invitations! Those are really cute and could definitely be perfect! Especially priced so well...

Ok, I think mine is mostly finished.. though I can't help adding and changing things ever since I put it up... I think for being free it's a really good option for a website. You can customize the tabs and all the content and add in custom stuff. The onyl downfall is that you have to add ".weddingannouncer.com" to your chosen address. I think that it's worth it to pay nothing! People so far seem to really like it. One of my favorite parts is the "Poll and Quiz" part - I haven't decided whether to arrange a group activity or not so I'm waiting to see if people would want to participate... And even though I stole a lot of stuff from everyone else - feel free to use whatever you need! Here it is: http://DanAndKash.weddingannouncer.com

Now my FI is telling people they can wear whatever they want! Arrrgh! I think I'm going to go with "Beach chic" but no bathing suits, etc.
