Well I've hit a point where I realize I need to decide on my colors... but I'm having trouble picking! What colors are you/did you do for your ceremony & reception? How did you incorporate them? Please post pics if you have them!

Flamingos Florist (all over Mexico)

Tammy these are so pretty! How does it work? Do they just ship it to the hotel? -
Well you have a lot of time thankfully. I'd check out the bus idea. I think there's also a bus that runs up and down the coast but I don't think that would work so well for the wedding itself. Maybe you could talk to Emeline or the Hilton concierge. Perhaps the concierge can arrange for a slew of taxis to take people back (and let people get themselves their on their own).

Welcome Lauren! If you want an AI with golf I would defintiely look into Melia Cabo Real. It's a lovely hotel, and it's main attraction is it's golf course. It's right next to the Hilton so shares the same swimmable beach (there aren't many others int he area). Here's the website: http://www.solmelia.com/solNew/hotel...digoHotel=5837 It says, "he Resort is surrounded by the Cabo Real world class signature golf course designed by Robert Trent Johns II." I think it's also near the Palmilla course. I think Dreams also has good access to golf. Though I don't know if it has it onsight (Dreams Ladies, do you know?) Check out this sight: http://www.allinclusivescabo.com/

So the cupcakes would be both the centerpeices and the desserts? That is a great idea! For the cupcake hole at the very top you could even find a small vase that fits and put in a flower or two... hmmmm....

I'm wondering if I can just invite all my guests to come join us pool/beach side at the Hilton one day... I wonder if the hotel would notice all the outside people wandering in... has anyone done this at the Hilton or other hotels. I think it shouldn't bee too hard since it's not an AI and people would be buying drinks and food all day. Any thoughts?

Maye quoetd me 30 second for $500. We're not planning on doing it (already way over budget) but I think that that is really reasonable! Fireworks are SO cool!

It could look SO pretty if you had the cupcakes in silver foil cupes (matyching the stand) and then decorate with ribbon and fresh flowers! http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp?pn=CD0831

hee hee hee... now that we know why tammy is so interested in pictures of cupcakes it's extra funny! Seriously though, these are GREAT! I am going to definitely use these pics to give Maye/Emeline an idea of what I'm looking for. Plus these are really something special - I think even my dad would like them! Those gold and silver striped ones could be SO adorable!

Jen, Maye quoted me about $500 dollars to rent a bus for a their/back trip for about 45 people. It might not be what you had in mind but just incase you wanted to go this route... how many guests are you thinking are going to need this?

So here's what I've had today Breakfast: Large coffe w/ milk & splenda eggwhites w/ onions, green peppers, cheese and salsa 1/2 a caramel cupcake (damnit! - my friend baked these and brought them into work... I must remain stronger in the future!) Lunch Tempeh and salad Dinner: Eggplant/tofu/goat cheese "sandwhich" (no bread - wrapped in lettuce) Cantalope Bites of dal (Indian soup w/ rice) that my FI made Snack: 1 oz. goat cheese 3 pineapple chunks Exercise: 30 minutes in bike
-
OK, I'm in! I totally need this too! Here's my plan: Eat 3 small meals plus 2 snacks a day (zone style). I have physical therapy 2 times a week (I had knee surgery in July). On the other 2 days during the week (not including Friday) I will ride my exercise bike 30 - 45 minutes and do upper body weights. Then on the weekends I will do at least one day of fun outdoor activities (does dress shopoing count?)
-
KarlaV - My friend used to do pilates on a reformer 3 times a week. I have to say that I think (as she told me) that's it's not worth it. You can get better results with weights and even light cardio. To be hnest I think she never lost a pound and she was diligent. However if you have problems with your back I heard it can be really good because it focuses on core strengthening.

That's hilarious because I ALSO have a Martha Stewart wedding planner that's brand new. A friend gavce it to me (I think someone gave it to her!). It would definitely be useful for a newbie to have! In fact I should start using mine now that I think about it...
-
Ylan, I think mosty birth certificates have this one them anyway (don't they?). I think you shouldn't worry - Maye has done a million weddings in Mexico and I think that someone on this sight would have alerted everyone if the weddings she arranged weren't valid. Don't worry - leave that to Maye - that's what you're paying her for! This is for you:

Tammy, I think the hardest thing for new members to do is really post a lot and get to know everybody. Since it's the beginning of the month maybe it would be a fun chance to do a most active NEW member of the month. For example you can count people who have signed up on the sight in September and then whoever posts the most in October wins... it's really just a take on the idea you already had.

I tried to convince my FI that it would be worth the $$ to pay for something, but he ended up convincing me it was not. Since then we ran into problems with RSVPs, etc... It would have been nice to have different RSVPs for all the little things we're still planning on having, like Spa party, ATVs, etc... just a suggestion! Our wedding website is: http://roldanandbrantner.weddings.com/ Karla, Your sight looks wonderful! I love your egagement story - I think it's really fun to be able to celebrate your engagement with all your friends! Sunset da Mona Lisa looks so gorgeous too! And the food looks delicious... it must be lunch time!

Your website is so beautiful. And YOU and so gorgeous! I love the pictures you have up of you and your FI all over the world. I htink it really speaks to why you are having a Dest. Wedding! You are going to love the church in San Jose too! My FI and I looked at it while we were there and if either one of us was Catholic I think we would definitely have wanted to have it there! Great job with the sight!

Tammy, this is great! I think if I can find someone in Cabo who can put something like this together my dad AND me and my FI will be happy! It is so cute!

Tammy, you and your cupcakes makes me laugh every time I think about it! In fact I am at work right now trying not to laugh aloud (they'll know I'm not working!). Anyway I am also trying to lose about 10 -15 poiunds before my wedding. I figure if I can just lose like 2 pounds a month (a very realistic goal) I'll be down 16 pounds by June! But I had knee surgery about 2 months ago so I'm pretty limited in what exercises I can do... at least I;m forced to go to physcial therapy 2 times a week. I was talking it over with my FI last night becausde I have serious motivation problems. I mean i have TWO gym memberships (one at Gold's and one at a rock climbing gym) AND I own a statinary bike... yet I do nothing. So we're going to team up and exercise together each night. I'll get on the bike and he'll do weights and then we'll switch off... this is the plan at least. Also I had been doing a diet (Zone) through a company called "Sunfare" here in Los Angeles but I didn't even lose any weight! Very frustrating. Goes to show you that even with a reduced calorie/careb diet you still need to exercise...
