OOT Bags *good price*
gkashmira replied to TammyB's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Don't feel bad Ann & Jackie! I did the EXACT same thing about amonth ago... and I had been on the forum for many months! I was thinking about skipping the OOT bags - do you think this is a real faux pas (sp?)? My budget has just gotten so out of control that I need to start cutting... -
Why did you pick your ceremony location?
gkashmira replied to TammyB's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I chose the Hilton because: - The hotel and the grounds are gorgeous - It has a swimmable beach - I loved the newly done rooms - I like the location on the corridor and am happy that it's closer to San Jose than to downtown Cabo. -
Hilton Los Cabos Review 5/22/06
gkashmira replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I love this review Tammy! Do you have the link so I can send our wedding guests there to read it - I feel like more people may dish out the extra cash to stay there if they knew how fantastic it is! I have to say that I loved it on our sight visit and a part that I forgot to mention was this My FI and I are big football fans. the weekend we went down to Cabo was actually opening weekend. My fiance was asking Gabriela (a co-worker of Emeline's because she was out of town) about where we could catch the games the next day. She told us of a few places and then also said that if we would like she can have the bartenders put the games up on the big screen in the bar... she gave me her cell phone numebr and said that if we decided we wanted to watch the games there to just give her a call and she would let them know... We didn't ened up going there because I wasn't sure if they really had the NFL Sunday ticket in order to watch multiple games but it was incredibly nice. A special touch that never would have occured to me. -
I love Brady... he's #1 on "my list" hee hee hee... It must be nice to have a trainer - when I had to go to physical therapy I always went no matter what (except when I was sick of course) and it's interesting how when you have that kind of appointment you take the "choice" out of it and you just do it. I need to find a way to do that ion my real life. Before I injured my knee (May... actually the day we got engaged) I was going to the gym everyday and walking (varying the incline so it was like hiking) on the treadmill everyday - but these days I just haven't been able to motivate myself! Well one step at a time, right? I need to get this diet thing down - I haven't had one weekend where I haven't used all my flex points yet... (or in 2 out of 3 cases actually gone over them...)

I used all my flex points, all my points for that day, plus extra on about 6 hours of eating. lol- I'm so embarrassed! Hang in there- you can do it! Hee hee hee... the only reason I'm laughibng is because I know EXACTLY hoqw you feel! OK, well we're in this together and Rebecca is right we are still eating better than if we weren't doing anything at all! We have no food in the house and my FI is so cute because I told him last week that if we eat out we need to do sushi because it's basically the only thing that's not super high points! So he called and was like Dave is coming over to watch the game (I'm a big NE Patriots fan and they're playing right now in Monday Night Football) and they're going to pick up sushi. So we got some I pulled all the counts off tyhe website and manager to eat not one point over... Rebecca, thanks for the encouragement! How often do you meet with your trainer?

Tammy don't feel bad - you look terrific anyway! Also no one is worse than me. I OWN a stationary bike and free weights. I technically have TWO gym memberships (one to Gold's and another to a Rock Climbing Gym) AND I pay an extra $15 a month so I can bring a friend with me to Gold's and also so I can use any of their LA gyms... And I use none of it. Yup. It can't be worse than that! Pathetic I tell you!

Sarah - You know what's funny? I was feelingso terrible about myself for going WAY over my points this week (see above regarding the plans that I did not manage to follow). I went 19 points over my Flex!!!!! I feel so embarressed I didn't even want to post it! Plus when I came into work today and weighed myself I'm actually UP from friday... sigh. But Thursday is weigh in and I am trying SO SO SO hard to do good between now and then. I would be very happy to lose but I have to accept that I may not after the terrible (i.e. "food terrible" but actually a very nice) weekend I had. OK, so even worse is that these days I just cannot motivate to exercise AT ALL!!!! I don't know what's wrong with me - I use to to exercise and nowadays I just can't make myself do it... Anybody have ideas on how to motivate?

Here's some I found online: http://www.uberprints.com/?gclid=CLy...FRV0OAodxCHRoA http://www.customink.com/ http://www.shirtmagic.com/ Also I know a lot of malls have kiosks where you can design your own T-Shirt/hats etc. - maybe you can just walk through and see if you can have one done nearby! Hope that helps!

Jen - Have you eaten at Puerta Vieja before? What are their group prices like? i htin I remember you postign them up somewhere else but I can't find it...

It would be fun! If I remember correctly I think Tammy-host ended up going down for her sight visit with her friends/sisters... My FI might not go down with me either but if I'm getting those two free nights at ther Hilton I'm going to use them! hee hee hee

I used wedding announcer and honestly I love it! I have gotten TONS of of positive feedback from people. NOTE: The one thing I dont' like is their RSVP feature. You have to input all your guests but then when they want to respond they need to have their personalized access code. I wish I had included these codes to people when I sent my STDs because then I could have gotten a better idea of people who are coming. My recommendation (if you ARE sending out STD's is to put a spot of the card where you can write in each person's code) that way they can reply online. Do you understand what I mean? I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself right. Anyway here's mine and feel free to use anything on there (I "borrowed" most of it from everyone else!).

Stephanie - It's a tough decision. I think that if you invite people then a few you didn't think were going to ake it will come. If that's okay then it's not a big deal but if you've budgetd for a specific amount of people it might cause problems later to add... Honestly I don't know - my parents insisted on inviting everyone so I guess we'll just see how many people decide to come!

I hear ya! So far we're doing great! This weekend is going to be a huge challenge. Tomorrow we're going out to dinner (I've never here been before: http://www.tradervics.com/rest-beverlyhills.html) for my FI's birthday with about 10 people. THEN on saturday we're having a B-Day/Toga/Halloween party! So I need to be REALLY good and save up points. Good idea with the bringin your own (tasty snacks). I'm going to try and stock out party with items that I either: 1) Don't like/dont' eat (meat could work!) 2) Healthy (popcorn) 3) Small portions (we have some appetizer size veggie samosas to serve...) This week I didn't work out at all but I was really diligent all week long on not going even one point over. Today I just got my exercise info from them so I'm ready! Plus if you can do the entire Tae Bo tape then I can get on the stationary bike (note - the bike is actually in my house!)! i didn't realize you get more points (to eat) the more you exercise... I like it! I agree - doing it together (and having people to support you when you mess up) makes all the difference! PS Thanks for the congrats!

Rebecca I eat egss and I have about every type of meat replacement item available to me to please suggest away! (For example some of my favorites are fake chicken (Quorn), fake salami (Yves), fake hambugrer (Yves), etc. etc. - I can pretty much make every receipe out there (except maybe steak ) Also I haven't had a bagel with cc in a long time and I love them - I'll have to look fr the laughing cow cheese. My groecery store had sold out of the Western Bagels last time I was there but I'm just about out of food and ready to return to stock up. Anyway here's a receipe I pulled off the WW wbesite that sounds SOOOOO good! Baked Winter Squash, Raisin and Pine Nut Lasagna POINTS® value | 6 Servings | 8 Preparation Time | 30 min Cooking Time | 33 min Level of Difficulty | Moderate Ingredients 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 1/2 cup fat-free evaporated milk 2 medium garlic clove(s), minced 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste 1/8 tsp black pepper, or to taste 10 oz dry lasagna noodles, cooked al dente (about 12 noodles) 10 oz cooked winter squash, thawed if frozen 1 cup part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded 3/4 cup golden seedless raisins 2 Tbsp pine nuts, chopped Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Place flour in a small saucepan and very gradually whisk in milk and garlic. Warm over low heat, stirring constantly, until sauce simmers and is thickened, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. 3. Spread 1/4 cup of cheese sauce over bottom of a 9 X 13-inch glass or metal pan and cover with 3 lasagna noodles; top with 1/3 of squash and 1/2 cup of cheese sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of raisins. Cover with 3 more lasagna noodles and spread with 1/3 of remaining squash and 1/2 cup of cheese sauce; sprinkle with 1/4 cup of raisins. Cover with 3 more lasagna noodles and top with remaining squash and raisins; cover with last 3 lasagna noodles, pressing sheets firmly down. Top with remaining cheese sauce; sprinkle with pine nuts and remaining mozzarella cheese 4. Bake until lasagna bubbles around edges and is browned on top, about 30 minutes. Slice into 8 pieces and serve. -- This recipe is part of our Cook Once, Eat All Week series. To learn more about this month's theme, make-ahead pasta bakes and casseroles, click here. Notes You can add color and flavor to this lasagna recipe by using a medley of dried fruit. Use 1/4 cup of dried cranberries, 1/4 cup of dried cherries or blueberries, and 1/4 cup of golden raisins instead of 3/4 cup total of raisins.

Just came back and considering that I went 12 points over my flex points this week I still lost 1.2 lbs. which bring smy total loss for the past 2 weeks to 4.4 pounds... not too bad right? 13 more to go and I'll be back at my college (and goal) weight!

Jenetta - It looks fantastic - i am very impressed!

Karla - Marbella En La Playa has rooms from $89/night and they even have rooms that are like two bedrooms. Here's the website: http://www.marbellasuites.com/ They have two different locations - I'm not sure how the prices vary between them. Also if they look on Orbitz they should be able to find something for under $100/night... rthogh they should only tell them there's 2 people stayign there
