gkashmira replied to MAGUILLON's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
OK, here's my pictures of Casa Natalia: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/f/...p?do=view&g=32 And here's a virtual tour they have on their website which give you an idea of the place - absolutely lovely! http://www.casanatalia.com/vr.cfm -
Reception Restaurant for Small Wedding

Casa Natalia will not limit your group to 8 but you just need to email Nathalie (the owner) ahead of time. She is fantastic and I have to say that while there's no ocean view the hotel is really lovely and the food cannot be beat. They probably won't let you bring in wine from outside but they have an impressive wine selection so you may just want to go with some of their suggestions. I am in love with them - the only reason we are not doing our welcome/rehearsal dinner there is that we ended up with way more guests than originallly planned. They are VERY close to the Catholic Church (like 1 block) and the rooms are truly lovely. Here's their website: http://www.casanatalia.com/core.cfm Also I heard La Panga is lovely though I myself have never been there. A lot of people are getting married at Cabo Surf Hotel and it may be a good option for your reception dinner if they don't have another event going on that night. Tequila's (also in San Jose near the Catholic Church) has great food and is really cute inside but it very pricey. My vote is Casa Natalia for a really fantasic dinner with great wine and a great ambiance. I have some pictures up in my gallery you can look at. let me see if I can find a way to post a link. -
MariaElena - Have you seen your pictures from Sergio yet?

Their flowers are gorgeous - has anyone seen any prices from them?

I love these Edyta! I am so jealous of all the non-U.S. citizens that can go there!

I know - it would really be perfect. It's also super close to Casa Natalia so if anyone is doing their wedding with them it might be nice to do their WD/RD here - different but still close. Way back in the day before our wedding turned into the much larger event that it is now we wwere considering doing something here. Prices aren't too bad either - much cheaper than a lot of the hotel/resorts.

I know a few different brides have had their RD at this restaurant (Janet, was that you?) and I found this menu/price list in my files so here it is! Here's their website and it looks really gorgeous. I thought it might be a good option for a Rehearsal/Welcome Dinner or a Reception. It's in San Jose del Cabo near the Catholic Church I think. http://www.lapanga.com/

Gown dilemma

The new one is much more wintry and I might actually sell that one after the fact. Here is the link to the original, which I love equally! They are totally different. http://album.aufeminin.com/album/see...vias-2006.html And ummmm our budget from our parents is already completely blown so the affordability factor depends on your perspective. I guess it depends on whether we get any cash gifts otherwise I will have to shift some things around for a couple months. Not fun, but can be done. I know - I'm such a dork! What the hell, you only live once - the two dresses ARE really different - and both super cute and fun! Let us know what you decide! -
Yay us! We're the best!

Gown dilemma
gkashmira replied to JENGONDA9's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Maybe you can sell your first dress on one of the millions of websites to re-coup some $$... I don't know I think it's a tough decision that only you can really make (sorry!). But I can only answer as if i were in the situation and this is what I would ask myself... 1. How much extra am I spending? Can I afford it? 2. Was I going to wear the same dress for my AHR? 3. How different is the second dress from the one I have now? 4. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much will I regret it on the actual day of the wedding... maybe you'll regret it or maybe it won't even cross your mind... 5. If you DO buy it will you have to save somewhere else or not? If you would then what part of the budget do you plan on taking it from.. 6. if I DON'T buy it what could I do witht he money instead? 7. Can I find a way to earn some of my money back? Would I be able to sell them afterwards? -

We had really colorful bags from Oriental Company screen printed with a design with our names, wedding date and Cabo San Lucas (I'll post a pic this weekend probably when I get around to posting all the pics.) Everybody used them as their beach bags. We included one of the following per person: -bottle of water (from City Club in Cabo) -mini Pringle cans (from City Club in Cabo) -personlized koozie -32oz water bottle w/ straw (for those mixed drinks.... or soda.... ha) We also added a Los Cabos guide per bag from our wedding planner, every guest found it really useful. And of course, the welcome letter with useful info and an itinerary. I like it! I especially like that you were able to pick up stuff while down there for these bags... that was one of the things I was worrying about - how am I going to get 75 sets of all these things down there? Buying it there makes a lot of sense!

Karla - that is terrible about the starfish. I know you must have felt awful (though I'm sure Natasha was fine). It's hard to imagine 40 people keeping the starfish but who knows... Dont' worry - Natasha is wonderful and very sweet and I think out of a lot of us one of the most level-headed brides we have. I'm sure she totally understood and was fine!

That's a great idea (canvas bags in natural). The wedding I went to in the Bahamas sort of had these cute but cheap-y like cloth/paper type of material (I don;t know how to explain it). But the point is that while they were cute they weren't really worht it to pack and take home... I think if I can find somethign I think people will actually keep and use then it's worth it. Otherwise not so much. I need to go and look on the OOT post to see what people are putting in there. Sunblock seems like a good idea. My friend also did visors which we loved and still wear... But I know it sounds silly but I don't want to steal too much from her... I mean she will BE there!

Maye said your wedding was perfect - can't wait to hear all about it! Have the Happiest of Birthdays and we'll see you when you get back!

Hotelier posts fake reviews on tripadvisor
gkashmira replied to TammyWright's topic in Honeymoon Forum
That sucks! I know a lot of people trust TripAdvisor. But I will say that when I check it often go directly to the bad reviews to see what they say or if they seem be3lievable. I'm sure if people are writing good reviews about their own places they're also writing negative reviews about their competition. Yuck! -
I think that I may do what MariaElena did - or something like the painted sand-dollars I saw on the knot (did anyone see this). But most likely I will do nothing. To be honest i may not even be OOT bags... I'm not sure what I would put in them and I feel like they'll just get abandoned when people pack up to leave... but then again I'M still drinking out of the customized cups we got at my friend's wedding in the Bahamas (which was lovely byt he way)... OK, so my answer totally didn't help or answer your question! I would be a little worried about the M&Ms melting but you know those things stand up to a lot on their way to the store so maybe they'd be fine?

We're all pretty similar, huh?!? Guess that's why we're all DW brides
