  1. Don't worry Sarah! They say that once you reach your goal and want to maintain you're suppose to add 24 points to your weekly total - so you're still coming in well under that! I bet you'll see a loss this week anyway :-)
  2. Don't worry - you guys will work it out! Maybe you're ont ot something. It's sort of like a bad little kid that really is acting out to get attention (from Cain).... hmmmm... interesting.
  3. I think you may be right! Natasha gave me the name of a dressmaker here in Studio City near where I work. I need to go take some secret pics! Good point about the alterations being included. The other thing I think might be better is that I think I can ask them to change things when stuff doesn't look right or fit the same... I wonder if the dressmaker could "swing by" a store that carries it and pretend to be browsing and just check it out... hmmmmm.....
  4. I thought it would be interesting to know who plans or (or did/did not) sell their dress after the wedding. Also if you did sell it - how did you go about it? eBay, Craigslist, PreOwnedWeddingdresses.com, thru consignment? I don't know what I plan to do - I gues sit depends on the dress I buy, how much it costs and is there actually is any resale value...
  5. Tammy - I'n so sorry you are going through this!!! I know you feel terrible and I think that it's really horrible of her to do this - especially after she's been living with you. However what I did want to point out is that email can be a bad way to communicate. A lot of times if you're angry at someone or you know someone is angry at you when you read the email you hear a rude tone of voice, or a coldness that may not exist in real life. Do you think it's possible that when she was reading your email she did this? I know I myself have been guilty of that. And then I got so mad and read it aloud to my FI and he was like, "Why are you reading it with that tone of voice?" Anyway it's possible that she read your email in a different way than you wrote it. And it's also possible that she may not have meant her email as harshly as it came across. Unfortunately you guys need to sit and talk or you risk ruining your future relationship. I would start with something like, "It's hard for three strong, smart, independant adults to live together. I love you and I want us to be able to communicate openly and honestly with each other. Family is very important to me and I knoe that it's important to you as well. What can we do together, all three of us, so we can stop arguing and enjoy our time with each other? Blah blah blah..." I know it's SO hard to be calm and rational when you feel hurt like this. Take some time away - regroup - maybe go get lunch/dinner with a girlfriend and really work through it on your own. Then when all three of you sit down together you can be calm and kind. The key is to talk about how "we need to change because we love ewach other" rather than - "you did this and this" (though I know and agree that her behavior is wrong). Also if Cain is there then your FMIL is more likely to act nicer and more receptive because I'm sure she doesn't want to hurt him as well. Lastly Cain should also say something to the effect of, "Ma, we love you. We are happy to have you here with us but you need to respect Tammy and her feelings as well. We are all a family now and it's important to me that you two get along." Good luck! It's a horrible situation but I knwo you are strong and can get through it! Imagine - only 2 more months to go! The first time we talked about this there was like 6 - 8 months! You're so close Hang in there and know that we all are here for you too!
  6. I've tried on the original and it looked great (I actually never though this mermaid-y style would look good on me). I'm just nervous that the knock-off (which I can't try on) won't look good. A lot of bridal shops won't let you take pictures... I wonder if ML will if I go in and say that they're for my mom... and that I can't buy anything without her opinion (of course I went with my mom to try the original on). Jenetta - which vendor is making your dress? Send us a link!
  7. By the way - I ordered a sample from WhiteAisle for their white paper fan 9they're $1 each) but to be honest it's pretly crappy - not recommended at all! We had a pist about fans before... let me try and find it... Okay, here the link (the first fan listed int he one I dont' think looks so hot in person - very cheap and you can sort of see ripples int eh paper from the glue): http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1684 OK, you may need to cpy and paste the address in because I tried to see if the link would work and it didn't
  8. But I'm sure that no matter where you decide to have your reception the location will be gorgeous!
  9. I agree - the outdoor sights look gorgeous. I don't liek th indoor ones so much as I feel that you miss out on the amazing location. The intereior of large hotels always look so similar. What about tiki torches, lots of candles for outside? You can ask also about chinese lanterns though this is probably a lot more expsive (though lovely). My only conern about a reception on the sand is dancing - woudl it be hard to dance with no actualy floor below you? Can tjhey lay down a dancefloor area? That I think would be the best option.
  10. I'm glad you guys like it! I'm still nervous. Sarah - I had read that one their website too but when I asked the seller what the return policy was she told me there's no returns... And honestly I don't care about the label in the dress at all but I DO care about what the dress looks like on me and how I look on my wedding day! If her picture looked exactly like th original I wouldn't think twice about it (BTW I think her version of PoB's dress looks pretty darn close! Closer than this one for sure). But if I just saw this dress (the picture she has) I wouldn't have thought it was the same dress. I guess the question is are the differences worth 4 grand... Anyway on Thurday ML's salon is having a sample sale so needless to say I will be going! I am praying/hoping/pleading with the cosmos that they have the dress there in my size (the size 10 fit perfectly in the store - no alterations needed except the hem) and that it;s heavily marked down! The sad thing is even if it's 40% off I'm not sure i can afford it... oh well at that price I may just buy it, wear it and sell it! The front really looks different on this dress and I don't like how the knock-off looks sort of stiff -- like the lace isn't falling right... I DID go to a dress shop today and try on a whole bunch more dresses (it's not that I'm not trying to find somehting else) but so far this one dress has been the only one that's actually looked GREAT. The rest are ok or horrible in some cases! I guess that's why ML is so popular!
  11. I will defintiely let you guys know whoever I end up buyign the dress from! I'm not so worried abotu being scammed as eBay has always been a positive experience for me. Plus this seller has been selling on eBay since 2002 and doesn't have any negative reviews - if she/he werte camming people they'd be changing their name/ starting new accounts etc. a lot and wouldn't have so many positive reviews. However what I AM concerned about is that the dress won't fit the same, or will just come in looking totally different on me... But then again for that price I could probably afford to have some changes made... I really don't know yet!
  12. So as some of you may know I'm obsessed with this Monique Lhuillier dress - "Scarlet" from the Fall 2005 collection. Anyway unfortunately I cannot afford the original at full price. There's this dealer on eBay who is selling a "knock-off." She has saiud she can make it with the lowered neckline in the original and can do it as a slip dress instead of sewing it all together (again like the original). The dressmaker says they've made this dress about 50 times but can't give me a referal tyo someone who's bought it before. On the website they have a 100% rating BUT I went through the products that they's sold and none of them are THIS dress. Plus they don't take returns... What do you think? I'm not sure if it really looks the same. But it is about 1/10 of the price ($5K versus $549): eBay: Sexy Lace Open Back Lhuillier Wedding Gown mdl# Monique (item 170049797814 end time Dec-13-06 18:54:33 PST) FRONT: (Original first then knock-off): BACK: (original then knock-off): Please give me your honest opinion!!!! I wish I could just buy the real one
  13. OK, I don't have many tips but here's what I have: 1. Wrinkle cream. I don't have wrinkles yet but I'd like to avoid getting them rather than having to deal with them later. So every night before I go to bed I use an eye cream and then an all over heavier nightcream. 2. Yoga. I love it. I stopped about 6 months ago because I was having knee surgery but I plan on starting again (my old yoga teacher stopped offering classes so i need to find a new one). It is so good for you in so many ways: Clear mind, better posture, stronger mucles and therefore bones, increased flexibility... just writing about it makes me want to go find another class right now! I feel nervous though because I haven't done it since my surgery and I don't know how my knee is going to respond. 3. Neutrogena Face Wash - unscented. I have been using this cleanser for so many years - it is gentle but effective. I can't stand perfumes so the unscented version is my favorite. 4. Eyeliner. Don't leave home without it 5. Never brushing my hair. Seriously. I have curly hair and if I even bring a brush near it it becomes super frizzxy and awful - even before showering. So I basically never brush my hair unless I've just straightened it and even then it makes it frizzy!

This brings me to a grand total of 9.5 pounds lost since I started the wedding diet in August. 20 more to go... WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! That is SO awesome! How tall are you that you could possibly need to lose 20 more? 4ft. 3? :-) hee hee hee - You're doing a fantastic job. My weigh in Thursday. The reason is because I'm usually good all week long and then over the weekend I use all my flex points so monday I'm also reatingin water
  15. I am so shocked at how Mi Cocina treated you guys! When we were there the service was to die for as was the food (and the cake I must admit). We didn't meet with the manager though - we had spoke with the owner - I think she woould be very unhappy to hear about this behavior of her staff! I wonder if I should email her and tell her about it... I guess not since we're no longer doing our dinner there. I'm just so surprised because they were so easy to work with and so flexible when we met with them. oh well - their loss not yours! It sounds liek you found a great place - I can't wait to hear more as you continue to make decisions!

That is what keeps you accountable. But a pound down over Thanksgiving is pretty darn good!!! I agree - it just so happens that my weigh in day in Thursday so WW was closed last week. But thanks for the congrats! I have to say I'm very happy with my weightloss! i can't wait to keep losing and honestly I feel pretty good - not deprived or anything - yipppeee!
  17. I dont' know if marbella is big enough for 90 people. It didn't seem like it to me but I guess if you did tables all around the pool it could work. It is a cute hotel and very affordable. Even their drink prices are affordable. I do have to say that the place does look better in the pictures than in real life though.
  18. Is this our Karla or a different karla? I am so confused! I gues everyone named karla is gorgeous! This girl looks like she could be sisters with my friend Jax - very strange.
  19. Boy I wish I had some to add... I really need some tips! I guess what I'm doing is taking home freelance work on the side... 4 more scripts and I can buy my dress! hee hee hee... too bad I am sittin ghere chatting stead of workign on them!
  20. Wow! Now I'm starting to questions baja Cantina. i am SO annoyed by there "$650 for a bonfire" thing... Does tabasco'sy have an open bar plan? karla - what food items did you have and what was the price per person?
  21. I think it's a courtesy but not required. We are debating right now about doing the same thing for our rehearsal dinner. The other thing is we don't know how many people will actually stay at the hotel - so it's hard to know if we'll even need a bus!
  22. Okay I went back and looked at your post when we were voting on what kind of cake you should do (here it is: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1056 ) Go with the little tiered cakes but just use chocolate frosting and then have little ivory colored shells/calla lilies/ or those adorable green 'orchids" (the edible ones not the real ones) on top. I would be a very happy person to get an all chocolate wedding cake to eat! I don't like buttercream frosting very much myself.
  23. Ok my friends, I am WAY late on the subject but TammyM - What happened to the individual cakes you posated up for us so long ago? Is the problem that they just are brown now instead of white and green? I love those little things - I think that could still be beautiful in chocolate! I need to go find your old post with them... I have to agree I was a little confused about the pictrue frame as well - for many of Tammy-Hosts reasons but also because picture frames aren't THAT clean so I'm not sure I'd want them in my food... However I think those frames are ADORABLE! I wpould still use them as placecards if you can afford to
