YAY! The one peive of advice I have for trying on dresses is: DO NOT TRY ON ANY DRESSES THAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD! I cannot emphasize this enough! But it looks like you already have a gorgeous dress in mind!

Congratulations on making a decision! I think Dreams and the other AIs are definitely more affordable. I love the Hilton (where we're getting married) but I do sometimes dream about paying AI prices!

We were planning on doing this at first but it's just so expensive that we crossed out the idea. But I think that it CAN be done for cheap but it'll still cost a couple 1000 dollars - food and booze alone will do it. If you have a house with a backyard (or a friend) that can be a good option too. Well at least you get to wear your dress again.

Yup - got the veil too. I am starting to calm down a but - suddenly I was having buyers regret - I guess that happens with big ticket items. Here's a pic of the top and another one of the back online. I bought mine without the snap on bow train thing but you can get a better idea of the lace and stuff:

OK well I went to a bridal shop down in Orange County today full prepared to try on my beloved "Scarlet" and possibly buy it (they were offering 10% off because it was the trunk show. So I tried it on and while the dress is still just as beautiful as ever I figured I try on some other gowns just in case. Well this Alvina Valenta dress ended up just being more flattering. PLus it was on sale and was the perfect size and well it was 1/2 the price too. So I bought it. The pictures don't look so great - my friend took them with her camera so now I am sudden;y having second thoughts (and ofg course it's too late because everything is paid for). Anyway it's the same alencon lace that Scarlet (among many other dresses) is made with and it has a satin folded ribbon under the bust that is curved which helps make the waist look small. Anyway these pictures are awful - So I am just praying that it looks better in real life:

I know! They are so cute! And really a very reasonable price for the smaller ones. I think I'm going to get those and also those mini fans. Then I want to find a way to maybe hang a little label for either seating (though I don't know if I'm going to seat people yet.) or just to customize the fans a little so they're cute favors that will be easy for people to keep and to take home. Then one little orchid candle infront of each chair - how cute would that be! And I can enough fans and enough candles for under $100... now that's cheap decoration!

I'm heard some stuff about it but I'm not exactly clear on how it works... I think we are leaning towards BB&B, and maybe Target (I do LOVE target!)

I second everything everyone has said and just wanted to add this: You are an amzing friend to all of us - you always have a kind word, a sound opinion and a helpfulness that I know makes all our our lives easier. You deserve to be happy and to be able to enjoy the experience of planning your wedding. It doesn't all have to be done right now - seriously it really doesn't You can literally wait until a week for the wedding to decide what cakes to get! Is there a night or day or sometime (any time) this weekend or in the next few weeks where both you and Cain have some time off? I thinkyou guys should put everything to the side for a night/day and go do something fun and light-hearted - ice-skating! snowboarding! a romantic dinner, a movie, anything it doesn't matter what. Jus the two of you and before the "date" starts you both agree that this will be all about fun stuff and no stress! That means no wedding planning, no Marty (b*tch!) talk, no dog talk (poor little guy!) just you two havign fun and remembering why you're together ad getting married in the first place.

We haven't registered anywhere yet. It's sort of weird because we've lived together for like 5 years and don't really need all the usual stuff. What we really want (and I know this sounds horrible) is money because we're saving to buy a house int he next year or two (hopefully home prices in LA will come down by then). Where are you guys registering? Why did you pick those places? Even better post the link to your registery so we can see what cool stuff you want (only of you want to of course!).
