  1. These look really great! If I wasn't already carting over a million thing I would totally buy these!
  2. I like #1 - I think they have a classic shape to them that can continue to be used for years.
  3. I saw an arch for sale at Michael's for 30$ that looked like you could just bring it with you and assemble it there.
  4. I am actually selling my dress but even if I wasn't I would definitely not trash itt. However I think if I had bought a cheaper dress I would have considered it.
  5. I have to say I am more of the $100 to $150 per couple. But I can tell you that so far we have received one gift from my parent's friends and it was for $250. People have also bought off our registry and seem to spend about $150. Wow, I had no idea we had to give so much! The one wedding where I did give $$ (see above0 was a destination wedding in the Bahamas - I don't think I could have afforded to give more. If people gave us $100 I would consider that a generous gift from friends.
  6. I honestly think it looks great the way it is! I don't think you'll lose anything by subtracting a candle and shell or two but over-all it is really gorgeous!
  7. This place has a ton of colors and the prices are relatively reasonable: Candles- Largest Selection of Scented and Unscented Candles
  8. Here's a very pretty arrangement that could be done for a bouquet. It has gerber daisies, roses, lilies and more. I think all these colors come in bright reds, oranges, purples, etc. so I think the way to go is to find a bouquet you like and send it to Maye to get you a price. This is the one I think I want. Because it has these special flowers from Holland it's $150 (versus $95 for gerbers & lilies): So anyway that's how I handled it. So maybe just go through the thousands of pics on The Knot and see what your mom thinks of the ones you like and then send a bunch of pics to Maye to get prices... That would be the easiest way. That way you don't have to know the name and color of every flower...
  9. lilies, calla lilies, maybe something like this? what are your colors?
  10. Drea - We're doing gerber daisies too. Maye is getting me a tall vase with 3 gerber daisies each for $15 total (for the vase and flowers). Then a gerber daisy bouquet is $95 I think...
  11. Fantastic - thanks Tammy! I'm going to keep looking and I'll let you know if I need your help!
  12. For the cocktail hour (which is a different area then the rest of the reception) we're going to a glass fishbowl with colorful shells under water. Then once everyone moves over to the reception sight I'm going to have Maye move these over to where the buffet is being set up and add floating candles. So anyway I am now I the search for cute, inexpensive and easy to carry floating candles! So I figured I'd post up what i find and if you guys have any resources please let me know! 100 Candles - Candles, Candle Holders, Gel Candles, Scented Candles, Aromatherapy and more I love the floating gerber daisies but they're a little more than I want to spend. Floating Candles, Daisy, Gerbert Daisy, Sunflower, centerpieces, weddings, receptions Unfortunately these aren't my colors Welcome to Koyal Wholesale :: Your Distribution Partner! - Gerber Daisy Floating Candles These could work because the price is good but they're out of stock! Red Rose Floating Candles 2½" (24 candles) 24 for $11.76 ($.49 each) Unscented These are OK - but since we're doing gerber daisy centerpieces would rose candles look weird? 100 Candles - Floating Candles 12Pc. - Black Cherry Candles With Holders Floating Red Black Cherry These are nice but I'm vervous about trying to pack glass... If anyone sees anything like this for less please let me know!

Anyway, in the end I may not use it at all because I don't want to spend to much $$ on these but it might be fun just to print stickers or something like that for the favors...
  14. I had my FI ask what the companies' policy on conflict-free diamonds. We ended up ordering the center stone from Blue Nile which at least tries. However please note that some of the more "discount" places (ie Costco, Tustin Diamond Mart in So. CA) refuse to give a statement.
  15. We're having ours at Baja Cantina on Medano Beach but I have never been there so I can't say much about it quite yet. Either Christa or Tasha (I can't remember which) just had their welcome dinner there a few weeks ago.

Everyone - thank you for your suggestions - I think i will play around with it a bit - maybe make the flowers bigger (but less of them) and lighter so the names stand out. Anny - I don't remember what font it is now - but it sounds like Janet thinks it's Zampfino - which does sound familiar! Well the invites are long gone so the only things I could use it for would be stuff that will actually be AT the wedding. I may put together a welcome letter before hand for those who are going - I could add it to this as well. OK, well of course the real question is - why am I wasting my time making fonts when I hevn't even written the vows! Thanks for your opinions ladies - i really appreciate it!
  17. Damn! I forgot to add the poll! I meant to give these three options: 1. Yes - use it! 2. No - don't use it or any logo! 3. No - but try and make another
  18. OK, I really have no reason at this point to make a logo. But everyone else had one and I thought it might be fun to try and put on e togteher. So I stole some of the i,ages from my invites (the red flowers) to try and make one to MAYBE use on something - OOT bags, favor tags, I don't know. But to be perfectly I honest i can't decide if I like this one. My colors are "sunset" i.e. red, orange, yellow and pink. So I am ask9ing you HONESTLY (no need to sugar coat it) - I promise no feelings of any kind will be hurt, bruised, mildly salted... Do you like this logo? If NO, do you think I should make another one or just skip it? If YES, where should I use it? cocktail napkins, OOT bags, favor tags, anything else?
  19. I'm getting mine through Maye Cortinas. Also when I asked the Hilton they said they could get me one for $350. Do you have a separate wedding corrdinator or are you using.... I can't rememeber her name... CDM's coordinator? I'll post a pic... This one is $250 and made of bamboo: This one is $350 and made of wood:
  20. WOW! Amesome party Amy! It looks like you guys had SO much fun! Hey wait a minute... I'm in LA - why wasn't I invited!?! I love tamales!
  21. Great list Bradley - thank you! I recognize a lot of the names on here as photographers a lot of us have or will use!
  22. safety pins are so important! I need to add that to my list of To DOs so I remember to buy them!
  23. You can also rent one in Cabo for $250. It's made of bamboo and has white tulle.
  24. We were there the weekend after Labor Day and it was pretty humid. However it was also the weekend after a hurricane so...
  25. I actually picked #1 because I love the look of the actual band - a bit more antique and shiny I actually bought my band today and it's a lot like #1 except it doesn't have the side diamonds. I helped try on a few that did but honestly it just didn't seem necessary - you couldn't see them at all when the band was on.
