I agree - this is unbelievably tacky! I can't believe she actually has a line on her own website that says, "*If you receive an invitation, even if you can't attend the wedding, it is expected you will send a gift." I mean that is so uncouth - it's like demanding gifts from people. I have to admit that if I was invited and was planning ojn sending a gift I may reconsider after reading their website! yuck - she's lame!

Hmmm.. I don't know what that one is called either. Ours is on the other side in front of the side-pool (the one they normally have the swim up sushi bar at)

That is confusing! I will try and rememebr but I might keep calling you TammyM... in my world that's your first name!

Sarah - I'm glad you caught that! They must have raised their drink prices between when we first booked with them and now... and they're maybe even just hoping we don't notice. Jen - thanks for the FYi on the chips/salsa! I am going to check again with Emeline. Maybe she meant to write per table but wrote per person by mistake? By the way, where are you guys having your receptions? We're going to have ours on the Whale watching terrace...

YAY!!!!!!! I can't believe you went and are already back as a MARRIED woman! Thanks for posting those pics of Baja Cantina - we're having our welcome dinner there and since I've never really seen it I am very curious! You look gorgeous and so happy. The cakes from Sweet Dreams are just beautiful! I love the picture of the orchid and the rings in the shell! I am SO happy for you - I know you've been planning this day for so long and it seems it went really beautifully!

We are using Tomas Barron for 5 hours for $1500. I think his prices have gone up a bit since but I think it's something like $1750 for 5 hours. Here's his website: Tomas Barron - Pro Photo Video I'll let you know how it goes when we get back from our honeymoon -
Place Cards - IDEAS NEEDED! Please!
gkashmira replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Ok I'm going to give you the boring - no work version since that's what I ended up doing! hee hee hee... From Michaels I bought: Placecards which had a gold border Gold calligraphy pens gedrber daisy stickers (or red, orange and yellow gerbers - which are our flowers but then have many many other stickers that are nice and from photographs so they don't seem childish) And I just calligraphies everyone's name on the outside and added a sticker to the left hand side. I'm going to write their table numbers on the inside but since you are only doing one table you could just write their meal on the inside instead. Again I know this is super uncreative and boring but just incase you didn't want a whole DIY project - this can work! -
Post your wedding lingerie!
gkashmira replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
OK, so I bought this lace Claire Pettibone chemise from the bridal boutique. I couldn't find the exact picture but here's the matching camisole/pant set. Mine is a longer top and then I ended up buying a inexpensive pair of off-white thiongs from target to match! Anyway i love it because it's lace (like my dress) and it feel soft and feminine but also very sexy! I was also given this from Frederick's of Hollywood: In white: -
I thought it might be fun to see what lingerie people are buying for their wedding and as far as I know we have a thread for everything but this! You don't need to post a picture of you WEARING your lingerie (thought you can if you want - as long as it's tasteful ) but I think this is afin thing I didn't end up paying attention to until the very end!

What's UNDER the dress???
gkashmira replied to SASSYGIRL's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm wearing the nu-bra cups (they stick onto your boobs and then hook together to give you awesome cleavage!) - also they can't sew cups into my slip dress. I'm also wearing low rise spanx. I am willing to feel hot in exchange for looking thin! However I bought this SUPER cute nightie by Claire Pettibone at the bridal boutique to wear on my weddingt night. So my plan is once we go back to the room - change out of the dress and the above - take a quicky shower and then change into this. I tried to find a pick online but I couldn't - sorry -

It's so nice to see you around! i will definitely let you all know how it goes!

i can't figure out if you'll be near any of this places but supposedly the Amalfi Coast (south of Naples) is supposed to be lovely. The island of Capri is supposed to be great too...

I wanted to bring this thread back to life! It looks like we have some new Hilton brides that have joined the forum as well! Anyway we are leaving on Thursday for our wedding but I wanted to throw out the following about the Hilton that I have learned: 1. Read your Banquet Event Orders (BEO) word for word - check all prices. We had decided to do an open bar based on consumption and when reading through the BEO I noticed that all the drink prices had increased from our original agreement. They changed it right away but I think the lesson to learn is to read everything, especially the prices, and double check them against your original quotes. 2. Emeline does not participate in rehearsals. I think this is really weird but thankfully Maye will be with us to help. However this is something to be aware of! 3. Don't even think about getting chips and salsa served! It's $10 per person! Want guacamole too.. that's $15/person! 4. Emeline has a good contact for cupcakes. She can get then for $4/each which is the lowest price I have been able to find. 5. The Hilton has a very affordable sound-system (well they have 2 one is $250 and one is $350). To have it reset (liek from the beach to the reception) costs an additional $80. 6. Tiki torches are $100 7. We requested extra candles for our reception and the hotel will be providing these free of charge. 8. We are having a golf cart drive me and my father down the winding walkway to the beach. I think this will be a fun entrance and also a way to keep us from getting too sweaty 9. Check your negotiated room rates against what is being offered on the website. We were able to have our negotiated rates reduced because the prices online were cheaper than what we had agreed to last year.

Site visit to Hilton and Dreams

We are also using Maye, and if we werent, I would be feeling really scared during this process!! I think that that is a very common phenomanon across the board with most hotels, etc. However I will say that your wedding is pretty far away and as you get closer everyone gets a whole lot more responsive. I can't wait to go and get married and come back and give you guys the scoop!
