Sheraton It really was the prefect location for us Bouquet I loved, loved it.. Maye She really was great and I don't even what to think about how the day would have turned out if she wasn't there. Juan Need I say more.. Granted I still have yet to see my pictures but he really is great, fun and super nice. I WISH I HAD SKIPPED IT: The music, it didn't end up at all what I wanted, since the jazz trio bailed on us (or should I say raised their rate by almost $400.00) so we ended up doing a panio player... NOT AT ALL CABO Rose petal toss It ended up flying over our heads and landed on the beach on the far side of the chairs Ceremony fans Yes they were pretty, but now one person used it, it was a windy day in cabo the day of our wedding. What I wish we did Chair ties.. Yeah I know sounds silly but I think it really adds to the decor Hair & Makeup at Hive Over all my hair turned out ok but the stress it put me though at the Sheraton and having them redo it several times I wish I spent the extra money and had it done at Hive TTD It was probably the one BIG thing I wish I did, if we had the extra money it would have been on the top of our list. Good list, Tammy! That reminds me I wish we had skipped the mariachi trio. The reason was because you could really barely hear them. I asked my mom - who was present at the cocktail hour and everything and she can't really remember then at all.
  3. Great review Jen - I'm glad everything went so well! It sounds like it was a perfect day. We also ended up using thye sun fut hut and I think it was such a gorgeous location!

  5. I like the idea of doing a canvas bag with a monogram that says the place and date. Because the place and date will be meaningful to all your attending guests I think they will continue to use these items. If however your names are very large then I'm not so sure if people will use them past the weekend.

If you're doing any "getting ready" pics I would build that into the schedule as well so the photographer knows where he/she needs to be when. We had our toasts done at the end of dinner but before dancing started. It worked out well because everyone was seated. If you're having a buffet rather than a plated (we had a buffet) then I recommend doing the speeches at the end of dinner rather than the beginning when everyone is standing up and getting food. If you're doing a plated meal just keep in mind that if you do it at the beginning there will be servers walking in and out with food.
  7. We added a file to the back that looked like a postcard type thing. It was really easy to write on them - I recommend using a fine point sharpie.
  8. OK - this is no help but I just wanted to say the Venice would be an awful option for this (we just went there). I know that's not that helpful but I just wanted to give you the heads up. It is crazy expensive and unbelievably overrun by tourism. I think a villa in the Tuscan countryside sounds simply ideallic! Also the Amalfi coast is supposed to be amazing as well.

I love it, its exactly what I am looking for. I bought it at Mon Amie brdial salon in Orange County - the same place I bought my dress. Sorry - i know that's not very helpful. But it seems like most bridal salons carry this veil (or something very similar). It's an ivory mantilla with alencon lace edging.
  10. OK - I entered. I liked how it required you to Opt into emails etc. (which of course I didn't do) but still...
  11. Looks good! I would add in the cutting of the cake and the tossing of the bouquet if you are planning on doing those activities. It's good to be able to write those in so you don't have to think about them on the day of and the coordinator can tell you when it's time. Andrea - that's one hell of a sig pic!
  12. Thanks you guys! I just love looking at the pictures over and over again. The surprise was a 5 minute fireworks show that was actually put on for another event (John Cryer's wedding) which went off right over our heads and was fantastically beautiful. The cupcakes were tasty but I bit dry by the time we got around the eating them. In retrospect it might have just been because it was really hot. Actually talking about them is makiong me wish I had one to eat right now... sadly people didn't eat them (too full and too drunk) so I was a tiny bit bummed about it. My mom's saree was cute too - only thing was later on during the reception she was dancing so hard she tore the string in the petticoat (the long skirt under the saree that basically holds everything up)! Hee hee hee... I guess she was having fun dancing!

Maybe you're right - right now I'm just feeling a biut sad because my dress is hanging up in my living room and I know I have to email the girl to arrange for her mom to come pick it up later this week. I guess I just am feeling sad about having to part with it.
  14. I like #3 the best! I love the soft lace... very classic and feminine.
  15. I just thought it might be helpful to know what i thought was worth doing and what was a waste of time/money/efforts. I think if I had known these ahead of time I could have saved money in some areas to spend on things that were more important... I WOULD DO IT AGAIN: Writing our own ceremony - this made it really special and I truly loved every minute of it! Bouquet - I didn't think it would be important but I loved it. It was so bright and beautiful and it gave me something to hold onto for dear life when I thought I was going to burst into tears (of joy). Video - Even though I don't have the whole thing yet I love watching the teaser video that Marci sent me. Plus it's great for those friends who weren't able to make it. Welcome Dinner - Everyone had such a great time at Baja Cantina for our welcome dinner that I wasn't sure we were going to be able to top it for the wedding. Bus for Welcome Dinner - the best decision ever. I have no idea how people would have found it or gotten there if we didn't have the bus. DJ for our iPod - thank god we also hired a DJ to run our ipod. When the iPod froze half way through the reception he had music up and running off his system in less than a minute. Chuppah w/ fake flower garlands - I loved the way this looked. Plus it provided us some shade on a very hot and sunny day. Getting Married in Cabo - Ok, maybe this was the best decision I made (but the bus is 2nd!). Everyone had the best time and a number of people told me it was honestly the most fun they have ever had at a wedding. Maye Cortinas - was awesome and she was able to hire vendors who were much more affordable than the ones the hotel provided. Polaroid Guestbook I WISH I HAD SKIPPED IT: Cupcakes/Cake - no one ate them they were too full or drunk. Beach bonfire - it was pretty unnecessary and people only sat down there for about an hour. Believe it or not... My gorgeous (and expensive) dress. I ended up stressing so much over how it would look. Plus in order to afford it I am selling it so I don't have it as a keepsake. I loved how it looked and I felt beautiful... but there was so much time, money and stress involved in getting it and having it look perfect that if I had to do it all over again I might skip it. Don't get me wrong - if I could have kept it then my feelings may be different. Mariachi Trio for ceremony and cocktail hour. I don't know if anyone could really hear them - they were really soft and in retrospect it would have been cheaper to just have music played through the sound system.

I think before I left the hotel room at the end I actually kissed them goodbye! hee hee hee
  17. Yeah, they are really irritating. It's a shame because like I said the actual wedding was perfect!
  18. We didn't do OOt bags but we did small palm fans as favors.

  20. Also my DH (I keep writing FI by mistake!) bought the diamond from my engagement ring there.

I will try and figure out what kind of flowers they were.

I was pretty nervous about how my back was going to look in that dress but I think it ended up being OK (especially with the veil to help hide it!) The ceremony was really my favorite part. I wasn't expecting it to be honestly but I loved every second of it - though it was a miracle that I was able to hold back my tears (of joy of course!)
  23. So it turns out Emeline never put the $3500 limit into our contract. I spoke to my dad and I sent him my email from when I requested the limit in writing. I then emailed Emeline today the following email and am waiting on her reply... The wedding was the best day ever and everything was perfect but I am really annoyed that I am still dealing with this sh*t. I have to say while the location and the food and everything was as beautiful & delicious as can be I would not recommend the Hilton to another bride just because it is like a constant battle to get them to not overcharge you every step of the way... Maybe I should put that at the top of my post for future brides... EMAIL TO EMELINE: Hi Emeline, I just got back into town today and was very surprised and unhappy to hear that the bar tab went over $1000 above our agreed upon limit and we were not notified and the bar was not shut down. Below I have included the email where we first discussed this. As written below there was to be a $3500 limit set as well as the opportunity for one of our guests to review the receipts as needed. At no time in the weeks that followed did I ever change this limit or cancel my request to have this amount increased or changed. Please let me know how the Hilton plans on resolving this issue. Thank you, Kashmira
