holy $hit! I am never going to catch up with all the new peeps!
-
Well I do feel bad for this girl but I guess the lesson that we should all learn is do not store items in the hotel safe. Obviously the hotel staff can access them (the must be locked and left a million times each). Some very fancy hotels have safes at the front desks but I Don't know which would be better. I wonder why she left her ring in there to begin with (I wouldn't leave a $25,000 anything in the hotel room!)

I just started going back last week since gaining TEN POUNDS since my wedding! (Talk about letting yourself go!). Anyway I think you'll like it one you get the hang of it. They do say that people who attend meetings lose up to 3 times as much weight. There's definitely something to be said for having to go in a weigh in every week! My advice would be the check out a couple different meetings run by different people. Everyone has their own meeting styles and some are better (and more interesting) than others. If you do it, it really does work. There's a girl at my meeting who's lost over 100 pounds! And she's young - like early 20s too!

It sounds like even though things have been tough for a little while that you have a really amazing group of friends. I am so glad you guys worked things out. I wouldn't feel too bad about them trying to think of the best way to not hurt your feeling or stress you out! While it may not have been the way you wish they had handled it it sounds like their main concern was actually your happiness, stress level and wedding... that is a very refreshing response!

Beautiful! You both look so amazing and so in love! Congratulations!!!!!

Sorry for taking so long to respond! None of the candles are meant to float. These are all still available if anyone is interested!

when to register?
gkashmira replied to Maura's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
You can really register whenever you want. It's pretty fun - so when you guys have some free time go to whatever store you'd like (pretty much every store has one these days) and just let them know you want to register. -
When to send thank you notes for EARLY gifts
gkashmira replied to bethtamar's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I wrote thank you notes as gifts arrived (for whatever event - shower, etc.). It's about a million times easier to write five now, a few next week etc. than it is to write 100 at once! Plus that way you will know that you're not missing peeps. I used the gift tracker on the Knot which was VERY helpful! -

Ok so I was out of town this weekend at a wedding and then at a wedding party thrown for us by Dan's parents and as you can imagine I ate SO SO SO SO SO SO SO much food! So I'm sure I've gained back that 1 pound probably plus some! Anyway it's about to be November. On November 23rd i have my ten year HS reunion. I would be over the top delighted if I could lose 5 pounds by then... So here we go again! -
Daily Health Challenge (Spark, WW, everyone!)
gkashmira replied to gkashmira's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Well I haven't done anything! But I did go to WW this week and I lost a pound - yay! So that feels good. I'm going out of town this weekend and I think this loss will help me keep it in check - I don't want to gain after working pretty hard to lose! But a few great things came from this thread - namely I have gotten back into the habit of drinking water during the day which is good for weightloss but also good for skin, organs and just staying healthy in general. And I think I've been doing better on my food (hence the loss in weight). My new thing is splitting my lunch into two parts. I eat a large 1.5 WW point (so say 75 calories for non-WW) for lunch around 12/1pm. Then at like 3pm when I',m hungry again I heat up a frozen 6 point (say 300 cal) meal. This helps me a lot because I'm primarily hungry starting in the afternooon. I haven't been exercising at all - I know it's bad I need to start! But I just find it so hard to motivate. Especially because I'm writing freelance at home in the evenings (excuses, excuses!). But I want to do it. My friend found a studio thhat has dance/exercise classes for beginners so I thought that might be a fun thing to try! -

Wrath Who did you last get angry with? Probably Dan What is your weapon of choice? Tears Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? In defense - hell yes! How about the same sex? See above! Sloth What is one thing you're suppose to do daily that you haven't been doing? Exercise! Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't? Sam Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through? Once when I was in like th 2nd grade - I love the sandwich maker! How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock this morning? a million? But I always do that. Gluttony What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Too many to count Have you ever squirted canned whipped cream directly into your mouth? Hmmm... I don't think so but I feel like i must have at least tried it once as a kid. I have however eaten a spoon full of cool whip so that's probably the same. Greed How many credit cards do you own? 3 but I never carry a balance If you had 50 million dollars, what would you do with it? Quit my job and travel around the world. Would you rather be rich or famous? Rich of course! Would you accept a boring job if it meant that you would make megabucks? It all depends on how much "megabucks" is. If it's a lot then YES. But then I would save it up so I could quit! Pride What's one thing that you have done that you're most proud of? I have no idea... I got nothing. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? Yes - Tom Brady (Giselle's boyfriend) What is your favorite body part of a person of your gender choice? Neck, ears Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute? No - thank god! Envy What item of your friends would you most want to have for your own? Tiny waist Do you ever wish you were someone other than yourself? Probably when I was a kid but not anymore. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? See #1 of this section! What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself? Super Fast metabolism!!!

Really? That's weird. I did an initial sight visit before deciding the location but never went back to meet vendors, tasting or anything like that. You can just set up all the elements over email and meet your vendors the day before (or two days before) to confirm everything. Also, we never did a tasting and everything was awesome. People raved about the food So I wouldn't worry too much about it. Especially if you're going to buffet route (which you may not be) because there's a huge variety of items and I'm sure you can find stuff that people will like.

Well I'm defintiely not yelling at anyone! I think we are all our worst critics. PLus think of it this way: So maybe you went out to eat, or maybe you didn't exercise as much as you would have liked but you know what? You still made good choices (like not getting the ravioli and not eating a WHOLE dessert), you are still moving towards your goal (like not drinking the Diet Coke, JenNy!). My WW lady always says some great stuff like, "so you gained a pound, well if you weren't coming and you were doing notrhgin you would have gained 20 so consider that a 19 pound loss!" (or something like that). Anyway it's a really good point. Which is that even if we're not reaching goal weight fast enough, or exercising enough or whatever - we're still moving towards are goal just be being accountable for it! So yay us! -

That's a first for me... keep going with it ladies! And Jen, great job on the Diet Coke! I lost count, but I think I'm almost clean for a month! Woot! Awesome!!! Congrats! That is A LOT!!!! Congrats! So today's challenge is no refined carbs (white rice, regular pasta, white bread, etc.) so I'm wondering if my high fiber "Smart" pasta counts or not... -

But at least I'm still keeping up with the water and not drinking diet coke (16 days now.) I will try to work out and do lunges, crutches, push ups tonight. But my food intake has been horrendous!!! Oops! I will get back on track after the weekend, I promise. Yay - baby! Don't worry NYJen (I'm still not used to that name!)! I really didn't do great this week on food either. Ate like a pig on Saturday, went out for Italian food on Tuesday... But I lost 0.4lbs at WW this week! Yay! I swear the reason is because I'm trying to get all these items in. So anyway I hope you guys keep going with me - I don't think it's that motivating to do it by myself! (no accountability!) -
You deserve some happy tears, darling! It sounds like our brilliant mods and our sneaky PA members picked out the perfect gift. We love you and we are here to get you through this!
