  1. Congratulations! These are so gorgeous and your work has always been so beautiful. I'm so happy for you and I'm sure that you are going to be wildly successful!
  2. I made it last weekend and I think I'm going to make it again this weekend. There's also a zucchini soup recipe but it's not that good... but 3 cups - 1 point so if I remember I'll post it when I get home.
  3. Yay! I;m glad you guys liked them. I figured if anyone has recipes that are sort of substitutions of traditionally caloric recipes we can post them here. What do you think?
  4. My advice is stick with what you love and use our beloved Tammy as your TA. She has a great relationship with Dreams (as well as other places of course) and you won't believe how much more that gets you! Plus she's a Dreams Cabo bride herself of course.
  5. love it!... and yes, Jen, they DO plan on charging your guests to use the restroom... and toilet paper is extra! Ha!
  6. I would be ecstatic to go to either but I wouldf pick Thailand first. I;ve been dying to go there and I think there's just way more to see and do. Bali of course would be amazing too... My vote is Thailand!
  7. I just went to see Wicked last week and I loved it. So in my opinion it's worth it! Plus I'm assuming that you'll be seeing it at the Pantages on Hollywood Blvd. You might as well just check out the standard tourist attractions like the Grauman's Chinese Theater, etc. etc. There's a nice little Italian restaurant about 2 blocks from there: Fabiolus Cafe 6270 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, 90028 Btwn Vine St & Argyle Ave Phone: 323-467-2882 If you plan on going before the show make reservations! It sounds like you have a lot of stuff decided but I just wanted to through in that if you like wine tasting about 1.5 hours north of LA in Santa Ynez there's a lot of gorgeous vineyards with fun wine tastings. Here are some of my favorites which I would recommend if you feel like taking a drive up: Sunstone Vineyards & Winery Gainey Vineyards The best in California Wines http://www.artiste.com/ And then this amazing restaurant: Winemakers' Dinner with D'Alfonso & Curran at the Los Olivos Cafe - 1-888-WINES4U - Buy Wine Online :: Best Restaurant for Wines - California wine If you like museums then I recommend LACMA
  8. Definitely talk to your aunt and uncle first. Then if they'd like to come I'd invite them and skip the welcome bags or do a way scaled down version.
  9. We actually did both (long story as to why) and thank god we did because the iPod actually died! So my advice is to bring a back-up iPod (if you go that route!).
  10. I got married there earlier this year and I brought in ALL my own vendors. However this was back when Emeline was in charge (and Mara was her assistant). But unless it's written in your contract that you can't bring in outside vendors I don't see how they can enforce that new rule. Good luck!
  11. I sold mine over Craigslist... there is hope!
  12. I don't believe it!!!!!!! That is ridiculous - how is that possible?!?! Wow, I should move to Austin just so I can get great deals on flights to mexico.
  13. Love those cupcakes! And I agree, Glenda, you are gorgeous!
  14. You should talk over time of year you would like to get married and contact the resort for quotes. Make sure that they can accommodate the beach ceremony and reception and the estimated amount of people you are expecting. I recommend going through a good travel agent if you can (I used our beloved host Tammy) because they can sometimes negotiate better rates, extras etc. and know what kind of things to look for. Of course going through a bad travel agent probably won't get you anything but it probs won't hurt that much either Make sure you look at menus etc. (even if they're the 2008 ones) so you can estimate general per person costs, etc. If you know 100% that this is where you want your wedding then go ahead and book your date! Once you get the date set then sign your contract (for the ceremony and room blocks if you're doing one) with the hotel and make sure you read through it carefully. If you've been promised anything (upgrades, discounts, transportation, etc.) make sure it's included in the contract. Then you can start working on Save The Dates cards...
  15. Honestly I am really torn on this subject. I actually feel in some ways it's great because people don't HAVE to take vacation (or as much) to attend. But then at the same time sometimes people plan other vacations or events for these long weekends. Overall if it's a destination wedding (which obvy yours is!) I think it's great! However I have a wedding to go to locally over a long weekend and I'm annoyed because I would have liked to go out of town! So I guess my vote is... Destination Wedding = great idea! Local wedding = too imposing
  16. Jamy - I've never been but my friend has taken (and liked!) the ballet class at LACity College down on Vermont. It's cheap, it meets once a week on Saturdays. I know you're looking for a DVD but I thought I would at least mention it. I think they have it every quarter so if you ever want to do some ballet for not much $$ here it is! Here's the listing from their Winter schedule: BALLET SLIM & TRIM What better way to whittle those legs, improve your circulation, tone up your whole body, and most importantly work on your total alignment than with the classical art of ballet dance. The traditional ballet "warm-up" performed at the barre does all of this and more. No experience necessary. Ballet shoes are recommended. SubEvent: Ann Monahan Fee: $45 #65021A 6 Saturdays 9:00-10:00 a.m. February 23-March 29 And here's the link (download the PDF and look on page 34): Comsvcs - LACC

  19. OK a small order of french fries at McD's or similar is 9 points... you can make this recipe for 3 points and a lot more to eat! Seasoned Sweet-Potato Fries - 3 pts. 20. I love yoga too! Thanks for the breakdown Heidi!
  21. I take fish oil pills at night with dinner. You can find some "non-smelly" ones at Trader Joe's
  22. We had a room block with the hotel and later prices dropped and after some pestering the hotel reduced asll our room block rates to the lower published price. As for airfare we just left everyone on their own and we watched ticket prices until they dropped to around $300 each and then we bought them and sent out a message to guests that these prices are available and probably wouldn't drop further so make their reservations! I guess what I don't understand is why you have to have a charter flight? Can you not reach your location by regular flights? Are charter flights cheaper?
