not to burst your bubble but most resorts and beach weddings have a cut off point around 10 pm for outside events. if you want something later, you may want to look into doing a buyout as someplace like la reve to see if they will allow your party to go on later. or you may want to see if the royal has an indoor location where you can move your group to continue the party.

Let me stress that MOST resorts do not allow rooms booked through online sites to be counted as part of the group. 1 reason is because it is hard to track who is part of what group. It really is best that you ask your resort directly if they will allow it.

if your vendor is not there, you can send me: 1. their full business name 2. description 3. logo we try to get to them when we can but there is a delay.

It just shows what quality vendors we have here on BDW!

this would REALLY depend on the resort and is a per case basis. The upgrades and amenities are written into the group contract that get from the resort. Some resorts are sticklers about only counting the rooms booked through the block while others will let a few rooms slide and count them even if they are not part of the block. it is always best to get these amenities in writing because even if you get one wc that may agree to it, if a year into your wedding planning, that wc is gone or even management has changed it can be difficult to get them to honor what a wc may have said when it is not written into the contract. Palace resorts REALLY wants you to book the rooms through the block to get the amenities because they offer some good ones like upgrades, free nights, free private events, etc.

hey gals, get your submissions ready. if you have not done so already, submit some great posts for a chance to win!

its not just for the food...i is for the set up, extra staff needed, etc. could you imagine if it didn't cost anything extra and free private events were available for all guests? everyone would want a private dinner on the beach, by the pool, etc. also this has been discussed at length already. you may want to try and search next time.

This will go under the "duh" category, but please do not post reviews of vendors if you have not used them or visited the property. Obviously if you booked a vendor, great but this does not warrant a review. If you have not received your images or had your wedding or done a site visit or visited the resort you are not really in the position to write a review. It is not helpful to write reviews and give vendors 5 star ratings if you have not completed using their services. Contacting a vendor and having them return your call does not constitute a 5 star review. These reviews will be removed and since you are only allowed to write 1 review per vendor you will not have a chance to review them once you have completed their services. duh.

You guys have been requesting a feature to make it easier to browse and participate on BDW through your smartphones and we have added that feature. We are proud to annouce that Best Destination Wedding is now available through an application called TapaTalk. It does cost $2.99 but it should be a solid option for power users. TapaTalk has some interesting features! So how do you get in there? On iPhone, Android, Nokia, Blackberry, etc., download the TapaTalk application. When you first load the app, you will see the ability to browse forums, view newly added sites, and search. Click to search. Enter "Best Destination Wedding" and search. Best Destination Wedding will appear in the search results. Click to view the site. From there, you'll be able to login with your username and password. Then you can navigate in, check your subscriptions, see who's online, post in the forums, and more! Please play around with it and definitely let us know what you think.
