well, this is not true for ALL agencies. We do not mark up here at Wright Travel Agency and we do very extensive work with our brides: referring vendors, communicating with the resort/WC when needed, even hosting webinars so you can find a TA that specializes in destination weddings that does not charge an extra fee....and i have done a ton of weddings and am not going out of business any time soon.

thank you for letting us know about this. it is true that bride referrals are very important when dealing with something as important as your destination wedding. Hope everything works out.

well, you normally need to have a room block in place to get the amenities from the resort (online bookings do not count). If you have booked rooms through the block you should be able to apply them towards your total. also, it depends on what you want at your event. Are you looking for a lobster plated dinner? that is going to be more than chicken. you will really need to work with your wedding coordinator to get the costs of what you want (open bar, flowers, dinner, etc.)

Also, if she wins it is not just for her but will make it so that her whole school will be able to have a prom because they cannot currently afford to have one. lets make this happen for 100+ students and give under-priviledged kids a chance to have a prom!

we normally do not post this stuff but please help Nathaly win a chance to attend her prom. She is a teen that got pregnant but has completely turned her life around, getting straight A's in AP classes and working 3 jobs to support her son. that is what we want...great posts as a thank you for the help you may have gotten but we also want to reward those that put in the effort to contribute to the site.

well you wouldn't pay your TA. the resorts and suppliers pay us. we usually can match/beat internet rates and if any issues come up we are in your corner. We have a great relationship with the Riu resort chain and book many weddings with them a year. also, do you really want to take on the role of TA for all your guests on top of your wedding planning?

alot of destination wedding brides book in less than 9 months....you'll be fine! I booked mine 8 months before my wedding.

well, thanks for your opinion. as i mentioned above. YOU may think it is easier to navigate but as we get bigger and have more posts, if they are NOT organized in some fashion the review section will be a huge mess. if you are looking for a photog, do you really want to read a bunch of reviews for photogs not in your area or would you rather look at the photog list and see who has higher star ratings, read all their reviews in one place? also, if you click the "product" box, it will just show reviews so you do not even need to filter out the non-reviews. people really need to learn how to use the system before complaining. thread closed.
