KarlaV karla, i took some one on one classes...i am pretty athletic naturally and played tennis, soccer, vollyeball throughout high school and soccer in college BUT let me tell you pilates kicked my ass!! i was shaking during and after the class. i actually get better results doing light cardio and weights though because i could only afford to have 1 private session a week and that is not going to do it with pilates...so before the wedding, i had 1 maybe 2 sessions a week with a trainer but he would give me a detailed workout sheet so i would go into the gym, 2-3 time w/o him and do what he said...then i would meet with him, he would check out my progress, bump me up in weight or reps, etc. for the next week.

not to sound flippant, but it is mexico maybe she will has an "arrangement" with the judge to have him overlook the process and just sign the docs. if you are still uncomfortable, just be straight with maye... i would say: maye, you said i do not need these documents notarized/translated BUT the website on the mexico consulate and the us consulate says i need it. why the difference? what will happen if i get to the US and the marraige is not legally recognized.
-
here is another pic for ideas.
-
it's ok...you can do this. call the local consulate and set up an appt. right away...explain your situation. many years ago, when i was 18, i did not know you needed a birthcertificate or passport to fly to mexico. i had gone to tijuana with just my drivers license. i had a passport because i had been to mexico, jamaica many time before BUT it was in my parents possession and i was going to mexico with friends w/o their permission. so being the dumb 18 year old, instead of somehow getting my passport from my parents i just figured i would wing it and talk the airline into letting me on...i know, dumb teenager...well, when i called 2 days before they said i could not board w/o passport, birth certificate, or notarized tourist card from mexican consulate...so i called the consulate and they got me in THAT day and took care of me.

this is for the newbies. if you go down to the link at the bottom of the page, there is a link that says "Best Destination Wedding". It is a link to the site where there is alot of good, general information to start with. There is information in the legal requirements in alot of areas, etc. you may want to take a quick peek and get to know the basics.

New to this site - hopefully getting hitched in Cabo!
TammyWright replied to LRUSH's topic in Newbies!!
Hi lauren, there are so many great AI's in cabo. I got married at dreams. you can see my pics posted around here there are a bunch of other dream brides: rebecca, jennetta, carrie, nicole, edyta, felissa, tara, april. they do a great job. also, there is a melia bride, about 4 riu brides, Intercontinental is a great choice and in san jose. there are also lots of options for non-AI: hilton, cabosurf, etc. let us know how we can help. -

Ylan, not to upset you but it has been posted all over this forum and the previous forum about the legal requirements to get married in mexico so this information about getting your birth certificate notarized is not new. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/htm/hotspots.htm this is stuff that needs to be done on your end. i don't know how maye would be able to do it unless you sent down your birth certificate... where are you located? i am in sf and have gone to the mexican consulate and they are very helpful. make an appt. to go in and have your birth certificate translated and notarized. for other brides that do not know what the legal requirements are the link is above.

i know you are leaving for cabo soon so i just wanted to say bon voyage. i know everything will be perfect and i am so looking forward to hearing all about your wedding and seeing the beautiful pics.
-
i'll send you the jpg so you can email it to cake bakeries and maye to see if she can help. here are some more pics...(click on the pic to get a bigger version)

i thought i would start this thread for those trying to lose some weight and get in shape, either for their wedding or some other reason. maybe we can post our daily food list and what we did to exercise on a daily basis. i think we can all support and inspire each other to reach our goals. we can also post when we cheat on our diets...that way, we won't hold on to the guilt and can move on. all that want to join, post here!!
