I also know Antares he is my friend, he is also good , but I've never heard of David Flores. Cabo wedding C, can you post DJ Mijares inforamtion and prices. I think the brides would be really curious to know. his rate seems very good!
  2. well, i didnt ask either moms to help because i am too much of a micro-manager but steve's mom offered to pay for the photographer which was fantastic. some parents opt to pay for the welcome/rehearsel dinner...maybe you can have that be their thing...at dreams it is not that expensive to do...and they can have their name on the welcome letter as hosting it so it will let them feel important and involved. the welcome dinner will be about $22 per person set up fee...i did a mexican/caribbean buffet and it was so good.

  4. I actually have these in red and white and hang them as part of my x-mas decorations but wouldn't they be cute for an outside reception. they are inexpensive and i think are even made in mexico (i got my at cost plus) so they might be easy to find...i thought they woud be fun to hang around the trees.
  5. kash, sarah, and tammym...i posted more cupcake pics in teh 3rd post!
  6. yes, ericka is leaving...but mariana is pretty great and helpful. she did my wedding and really tries hard to get you what you want. she is also super responsive and usually gets back to me within the day. i think the transition will be pretty smooth.

And if you end up at a resort then you can just have them make the cake! you should know by now that i am the WORST typist.

  11. yesterday and todays winner of the lottery... Kristina (SPRKLZ) and Kristina (SPRKLZ)!!!
  12. ok, when i read this title and saw you posted it i did NOT think it would be about you...you are by NO MEANS full-figured. you are crazy!
  13. my colleague went to this resort for a site visit and said it had a spectacular set up for weddings and the food ws really good. one of the actresses on desperate housewives is going to get married here (not 1 of the main 4)
  14. I had a colleague got to a wedding here and this is what she said... Quote: me: How was the wedding? was it beautiful? did you have a great time? how did dreams do? i have a bride who is considering dreams PV. her: Wedding was amazing! The hotel did a fantastic job although I know the bride brought in a lot of outside vendors. This hotel has a great setting for weddings because it sits on a private beach. The ceremony and reception was on the beach plus she had tables at Oceania restaurant set up as well. She had about 100 guests.
  15. welcome!! cruise weddings are becoming more common! well, some things to consider...if you want to try to go it on your own, it is really doable but make sure you build into the price trasportation for your guests from the ship to the site. what island were you thinking about getting married on? how many people?

  17. this was posted a tripadvisor.com recently. orbitz and expedia bookings get low priority from the resorts and it is not uncommon to get bumped. ================== Traveler rating: San Jose Del Cabo: Marquis Los Cabos, Beach Golf, Spa & Casitas Resort: "Cancelled by Marquis" Oct 25, 2006 Onyxsoleil, Denver, Colorado We booked our stay for the end of November about 2 months ago. We received a call from Orbitz stating they had changed our reservation and we were being moved to the Westin. This was not acceptable since we were paying $400 per night for Marquis and the Westin was less than $200 per night. If we wanted the Westin, we would have booked the Westin. We have spent approximately 4 hours on the phone with Orbitz trying to figure the mess out. Marquis was not willing to pay the difference for a nicer hotel for bumping us (the only comparable was Palmilla). Finally, Orbitz did not want to lose my husband's business (he books approx. 400 tickets per year with Orbitz) so they are paying the difference for us to stay at Palmilla. Marquis gladly took our reservation through Orbitz but then when a big party reserved, they had absolutely no problem kicking our reservation out, even though it was booked well over 2 mos ago. We will never give Marquis another chance, we were treated like dirt before we even got a chance to arrive, glad we found out how important their customers are before we arrived.

Maybe I'll add a separate post for that. sarah, since your wedding is smaller you may not need another WC especially since marianna is handling you wedding and in the past ericka (who is no longer working for dreams) was the one that had problems.
