Its not like were on a total budget so should we have a private something or should we just have everyone meet at one of the restaurants? I have been struggling with this for months any suggesstions? also if we have a "private" dinner should I get my inlaws to foot the bill? then should my parents foot the bill for a "private" morning after breakfast? We are paying for everything else ourselves. Any sugesstions at all would be great! Jill i know this is gonna hurt but you should def. do private if it is only $15 per person! this is your wedding and the welcome dinner will make the week so much more memorable. my DH says "you'll forget the money before you forget the memory of the event"
  2. Today's winner is...SARAH (Aqharider)!! the champ is BACK!
  3. welcome Jill!! jamaica is a very popular place to get married? when did you get engaged?

  5. gosh rebecca! I am so happy for you. i feel like i know you so well and have been there for all the decisions! you know we are all gonna be there in spirit. have an amazing time and i can't wait to see your pics!!
  6. If you are getting married in February or March of next year, please remind your guests that do not have passports to start getting them NOW! New applications and renewals are taking 6-8 weeks. Even expedited passports with the extra fee ($60) are taking 3 weeks. Because of the new passport laws that go in effect Dec. 31st, it is going to be harder and take longer to get your passports as we get closer to that date!
  7. tasha, you are GREAT! always posting pics for everyone!
  8. Today's lottery winner is... SARAH (Agharider)!!

I see a lot of references to how staying at an AI will save you lots of money ... why exactly is that? Since I am not getting married at a resort, but rather at a location that is not affiliated with any resort (in PV) I need to find a resort/hotel for everyone to stay at, and probably have the welcome dinner at, independently. Would an AI still be a good idea? (my wedding will likely be 30-50 people) AI's save you $$ because food and alcohol/drinks are usually the largest costs so at AI's those are mainly paid for...some resorts make you pay an extra set up fee to have a private event. it is a cheaper way to have a reception and welcome/rehearsel dinner... ann, even though you are having your wedding on the island, if you stay at an AI and have over 10 rooms blocked, you might want to consider having a welcome dinner at the resort.

We'll have to be sure to share everything we come up with on here! he only pops on every week or so so give it a little time.
  14. I was lazy...i did not do invites for the welcome dinner. i posted it on our website with a place to RSVP. Then we would send emails to our guests that we updated the website with welcome dinner information or whatever. we also put it in our welcome letter.
