Because the wedding is not until 2008 they will not release any numbers on food/bar until january 2007 so i am waiting to hear back from them. sherri (destinationbride) is gtting married in hawaii so you may want to ask her what her experience has been so far.

hi glenda, i moved your post to a new thread so we can focus on you!! welcome to the forum....you have definitely come to the right place...tehre are so many cabo brides on here. just read the information as it come...there is no need to make any decisions right away as it can be overwhelming in the beginning process of planning a destination wedding. some things to ask yourself: what type of event do you envision? casual beach wedding? gazebo? overlooking the ocean? more formal? what is the profile of your group? young, want to have fun? families? what is your budget? targer per room/per night cost? budget for event? how many people are do you think will attend?

  5. karla, i thought $56 was a little low for 3 hours...
  6. well, you may be able to do it at esperanza... looks like your food and drink will range around $5,500 for 40 people room rates for the basic are about $400-500 per night (in off season) it will be cutting it close... most of us have a civil ceremony in the states and a symbolic one in mexico...i think it is about 65% in us / 35% in DW
  7. hi ed, what about some other high end reorts that are not so high end...? Hilton westin casa del mar fiesta americana the food at the big 3 will be expensive...my gf went to One and only for her honeymoon and they were spending $300-400 per dinner every night for 2 people.

My dream places in Cabo, so far, are Las Ventanas, Esperanza, and One & Only. those are my favorite places in cabo as well! the min. food prices at las ventanas and one and only are scary...also, be sure to ask if they allow outside music (DJ or band). also, those places have seasonal rates and they go up quite a bit mid-late oct. so try to have your wedding early oct. ,if you can, to get the best rates and best weather.

Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated. We're looking to spend no more than $15 to 20K for about 20 to 40 guests. Are the more luxury resorts out of reach? Hi Ed, the corridor may be the best choice for you...i got married at the corridor. it is beautiful and quieter...not a party scene at all. would you pay for your guests accomodations? or is you budget just for you and your fiancee's travel costs and the ceremony/reception? i originally looked into Las Ventanas amd the One and Only for my wedding but knew we could not afford to pay for all of our guests to stay there...we also didn't feel right about having them stay somewhere else...if $ were not an issue for me i would have loved to get married at the One and Only...there is an amazing slideshow taken there... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t994 ps. congratulations on the recent engagement.
  10. welcome to the forum ed...we have one other groom on here... let us know how we can help..just FYI, august and sept. are very hot in cabo so Oct. nov. may be a better choice for you.

I am looking for a band (similar to the Twins/Cabomax) I say similar because the Twins are booked for another event on my wedding day. I'm kinda bummed. I've already visited and stayed at the resort so am somewhat familar... is there a need to go back right before the big day to do the food tasting and look at the location again? I also need to find a hair and makeup person... any suggestions? there are a few recommendations for hair and makeup...janet used a lady...BRB...

Thanks girls!! hey there, Iberostars in general are very FUN resorts...younger crowds and families...this resort i think is one of the nicer of the chain. it consistently gets really good reviews. PV Dreams is also a great resort with great reviews... you just need to figure which would work best for you...PV or RM?

  19. welcome to the forum...there are quite a few cabo brides on here...i originally wanted a villa but after researching realized it wasn't the best option...i wanted a place where we could all hang out and we outgrew any villa. but a few of our brides got married or will be married at a villa and i am sure they can help.
