  2. My gf spent over $70k for a mediocre wedding...i mean the food was cold and pasta and steamed zuchinni type food and her dress was horrible.... her photos were bad too.
  3. we had a bride that had a problem with theft so it can happen... my mother has instilled fear in me...like she wears one of those body, fanny packs to bed with her with all of her cash, passports etc...i am not THAT crazy but i did hide things in my big suit case (rolled in socks, etc.)...
  4. welcome to the forum jennifer!!

Anyone going with a travel agent to get better deals? it isnt a really good deal at all...all of my groups are $149-172 per night(per person)...the reason the last one was so high was because the group block was made about 6 months before the wedding...you get better prices if you do your group block 9 months or more before the wedding. just a note: it is VERY rare that the resort will offer you a lower group rate than a TA...
  6. welcome to the forum shelley there are a bunch of RM brides on as well as riu brides...let us know how we can help.
  7. one thing to be careful of...at dreams cabo, the rate was per hour and almost the same $$ as a DJ. so be sure it is a flat fee not per hour.

I wonder if that's a reflections on the photos themselves? maybe we should have some of the grooms talk to matt about juan (like my DH or rebecca's)...what about manuel b...gilda is great as well.
  10. angela, karla used him...i will be honest with you...i had him scheduled to do my wedding and he bailed a few days before my wedding...i wasn't the first wedding he bailed on...some of the WC will not use him because of this.

So now everyone is using this as their determining factor on whether or not to go to cabo. I want them to believe that cabo is cheaper than it really is. It's all about perception. -Glenda tell you cousin to keep her big fat mouth shut and that she is either an exagerator or a sucker if she really paid $85 for a cab ride... i know you can't say that but it would be funny.
  12. less guests =less $$ (YAY, no need to invite the randoms at work) mexico is waaayyy cheaper than SF.. $44 per person instead of $120 at home no $5,000 site fee! my wedding is in beautiful cabo...so i spent $1100 (or so) on flowers instead of $6000 also, we had a whole week together with multiple events planned: welcome dinner girls spa day guys deep sea fishing snorkel/sailing trip wedding & reception brunch with the newlyweds all for $14,000.. just a reg. wedding in sf at an ok place was $30,000+ (my friends all paid $50,000-80,000)

  18. hi glenda for my weddings there is a$34 per person fee for r/t transfers...they are a company i trust...guest can either choose to get it and i arrange it with their flights times, or rent a car, or get their own transfers.
  19. they are also called OOT bags.. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t672 i will move your thread to the correct forum.
  20. merryme is probably right, but cabo airport was kind of a mess...and people were all over the place, confused...the airport security would just waive you through...they did not ask to see any paperwork at that point...they did when we first entered the customs area, but not later at the button part...
  21. we had a traditional reception first dance father/daughter & mother/son dances cake cutting garter & bouquet toss speeches at 11:00pm is was beat and went to our room...some of the rowdy group partied some more.
  22. yes, i had my parents with me and we were going to push the button one at a time...whoever pushed green had to grab the suitcases with all the stuff and go through...that way if hubby pushed green he would just grab a suit case with his close, then we had 3-4 more chances.
  23. julie just got back from a site visit. her daughter is getting married in may. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2522
  24. hello there, welcome...there are may PV brides on here that are sooo helpful. this is my opinion on PV photogs...i have not found any that really impressed me...not to say they aren't out there, just that i have not run across them. if photos are really important to you, you may have to bring in your own photog...here are some of our favorites...a few are members... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2177 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2109 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2103 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2101
