  4. this is super low fat and delicious! you can also improvise the recipe and make it hors d'oevres by putting the chopped salad part in endive boats so they are finger foods. INGREDIENTS: 1 1/2 to 2 cups Dungeness crab meat (about 1 large crab), coarsely shredded 1 teaspoon minced chives 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon Meyer lemon juice 1 teaspoon fine sea salt 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1 teaspoon Meyer lemon zest 7 heads Belgian endive, red or green 1/2 cup fresh Italian parsley leaves, whole if small, coarsely chopped if large Instructions: In a small bowl, combine the crab, chives, 1 teaspoon of the Meyer lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, 1/2 teaspoon of the freshly ground black pepper and 1 teaspoon of the olive oil. Gently mix with a fork. In a salad bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons lemon juice with the remaining salt, pepper and olive oil. Whisk gently, then add the zest . Trim the flat ends of the Belgian endive and remove the leaves, leaving the core behind. Chop half of the leaves and add them, along with the parsley leaves, to the salad bowl and gently toss. Arrange the remaining leaves on 6 salad plates. Divide the chopped Belgian endive among each plate, then top each with equal portions of the crab mixture and serve immediately.
  5. i am such a fatty...i bake with this french butter where the name literally translates to "more fat"..i am pathetic.
  6. easy and yummy and low fat! This dish is elegant enough for company but simple enough for weeknight meals. Prep and Cook Time: about 1 hour. 4 boned, skinned chicken breast halves (about 8 oz. each), rinsed, dried, and pounded to an even thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper 2 tablespoons butter 1 can (14 oz.) quartered artichoke hearts, drained 2 tablespoons dry sherry 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1/2 cup whipping cream 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Sprinkle chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. In a 10-inch frying pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add chicken in batches and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer chicken to a 9- by 13-inch baking dish and add artichoke hearts. 2. Add sherry, lemon peel, and lemon juice to remaining butter in frying pan; stir over medium heat until well blended and hot, 2 to 3 minutes. Add cream and stir. Remove from heat and pour sauce over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese. 3. Bake until sauce is bubbling and golden brown on top, 20 to 25 minutes. 7. William sonoma made these for me when we did our registry...it was so fun...we went when the store was closed and they made ayummy breakfast for us. these are the best banana pancake recipe. the lemon zest really adds to the flavor. banana sour cream pancakes (makes 12 pancakes) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 1/2 cup sour cream 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk 2 extra-large eggs 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest Unsalted butter 2 ripe bananas, diced, plus extra for serving Pure maple syrup In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together the sour cream, milk, eggs, vanilla, and lemon zest. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones, mixing only until combined. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat until it bubbles. Ladle the pancake batter into the pan. Distribute a rounded tablespoon of bananas on each pancake. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until bubbles appear on top and the underside is nicely browned. Flip the pancakes and then cook for another minute, until browned. Wipe out the pan with a paper towel, add more butter to the pan, and continue cooking pancakes until all the batter is used. Serve with sliced bananas, butter, and maple syrup.
  8. hey amy, you know you can ask me these things... i used july 4, 2007 rates since 2008 are not out. 7/3-7/5: air: $383 per person room: $450 (for 2 nights, 2 people)
  9. we have a martha stewart section where people have already posted recipes, etc...i love to cook and bake...
  10. YIKES!! unfortunately resorts will let you book a wedding even if they know the resort is almost booked to capacity...i usually ask the resort how full they are before i book...if they tell me they are getting full i block rooms.. this sucks.. but do not panic. how many of your guests have already booked. 1. call your TA and see if she can block rooms at another resort right away. 2. have your TA call the resort and b*tch about how your guests for your wedding will not be able to stay at the resort and what are the going to do about it...they better compensate you somehow...like no guest pass fees?
  11. i am confused by your question...if riu alrady said you can have nov. 2 at the gazebo, isnt that a confirmation?
  12. welcome!! we have a few may brides getting married in PDC!!
  13. welcome dee...there are so many great palces to get married in mexico. where are you located? how many people do you think will attend? resort or non-resort?
  14. i would talk to her first and she how she feels about it...personally, i wouldnt care and would be flattered if a friend got married at the same resort as me...if my parents had their way, my 2 sisters would both get married at dreams.
  15. dreams is very good about it...they do sections at a time so you do not even know...
  16. hi sandy and lee, hopefully this will help...i got married at dreams cabo and am helping 8-9 brides this year get married there. ok, yes, it is a $22 per person set up fee per private event. you can usually negotiate that they combine like the cocktail and reception fee IF they are in the same area...like if you have the cocktail hour at oceana and the reception at cascade terrace, you may be out of luck. i've even heard of brides combining the reception and ceremony fee by having everything at the gazebo...bit i think that would only work with a small group. some people opt to do the package but most brides on this forum choose to go ala carte because they want their own photographer, cake, flowers etc. the best plan of action would be to. 1. pick/book your date and time. dreams books quickly so those good dates go fast. email/call marianna or yessica and book the date. tell them you are working with this TA and they will either do a room block or book individually...it may even be best to have your TA contact them to book the date for you. 2. then get a rough figure of how many rooms you will need. if it is 25 or over, i would do a room block...if 10-15 you may not need to block any rooms. if it is a big holiday weekend, i would block those rooms to be safe. 3. work on STD's and website with your pricing info/travel agent info.
  17. i love yogurt with sliced bananas in it...yummy...also, i try to keep fruit around so i am tempted to eat it... dried fruit zone "granola" type bars green tea (usually when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty)
  18. hi jamy, i agree that a welcome dinner is not necessary at all...but i will tell you, we had one and it really kickstarted our trip. people got to mingle and get to know each other...also the event was more casual and fun then the reception.. for us, we really wanted to do as much for our family and friends as possible as a "thank you" for coming all this way.
  19. welcome kelly... are you looking for an AI or non AI/ kids or adults only bigger or smaller resort price range

Maybe I'll give it a shot in my coffee and let you guys know! kash, we use stevia at home...mostly for steve...he crashes when he has too much sugar but doesn't with stevia...also, you do not need to use as much as you would regular sugar.

I have some questions that I hope everyone can help me with: 1. Does Dreams allow outside cakes? My FI and I don't like cake so we wanted to get cupcakes but I don't know if they allow outside vendors for cake. If they do, does anyone know if there is a cake cutting fee? yes, i do not think there is a cake cutting fee 2. When you do a room block how much do you have to put down? I know that once people start booking rooms they will use the money towards your other stuff but I was wondering, if you block too many rooms and people don't book and use the room, do you lose your money? Or if you put down more money than you end up using towards your fee at Dreams will they refund you the money? usually $100-200 per room, yes the will credit your cc back for what you do not use. 3. I know I have over a year to think about this but I was wondering. I know a lot of people bought water bottles for their OOT bags. Do you think I should even bother buying water bottles for OOT bags if the Dreams provides the guests with bottled water in their fridges anyway? no water for OOT bags because it is in the fridge for free 4. Does anyone know if the WC at dreams has aisle runners to rent? If so do you know how much they cost? i used rose petals Thank you for all your help. -Glenda
