Do you think this is rude?
TammyWright replied to BEACHBRIDEMA's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
sarah, if your parents are paying i think it would be rude NOT to say something to this lady. just say you have maxed out the number of people in your budget so the invite is for her only. PERIOD! no need to explain or feel bad or feel like you are being rude. sheesh some people need to be smacked in the head. -
this is actually NOT a rare occurance and does happen more often than you think. hotels do overbook and when they do, there are tiers of who gets preferential service. Groups, when booked as a block are usually they last one to get moved to another resort. those booked on expedia, etc are usually the first....usually because its not like expedia is going to call the hotel out on what they did...there really is no recourse when booking through those sites.

She now only applies it right after his bath and in the mornings. ohh...i am there next week and will look for it!

Here are his prices: "The rate for the time specified would be $250 (US) and would include all expenses. The rate for the ceremony footage on 3 dvds would be $300. My normal rate for creating an official wedding film is $1,500. This includes the pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktails, photo shoot, and reception. A total of 5 hours. The video is edited with music (provided by you) and it also includes a photo slideshow of the wedding (Photos to be provided by photographer). The film will also come with a DVD menu and package, professionally designed." he didnt charge me that much...i think i paid him like $800 total...but he is really good...he shoots commercials i think

this is what i wrote for the homepage of this site: Quote: Have you dreamed of getting married on the beach in an exotic location like Mexico, Hawaii, Fiji or the Caribbean? Do you want to plan a wedding so unique and creative that your guests will talk about it years later? Your relationship with your fiancé is a unique one so why have a "traditional" wedding like everyone else when you can get married next to the ocean. Having a destination wedding is an amazing way to start your life together as a couple. Your destination wedding will not just be a one day celebration with your family and friends but instead vacation filled with memories. If planned well, you can create a vacation that is both affordable for your guests and unforgettable - but if not planned well, can be disastrous. We've all heard the horror stories of hotels claiming to be "paradise" but not disclosing they were next to a sewer plant....or putting a hefty deposit down with a wedding coordinator in Mexico, to have them suddenly not return your calls. Working with reputable vendors and resorts will help you deter these potential problems. If you are not good at this sort of thing, or don't have the time to invest in research and planning, we recommend hiring a wedding planner. Because destination weddings mean traveling far away from home, you and your guests will need plenty of time for planning. We also recommend that you spend more time researching than you would with a traditional wedding. You must deal with the local way of doing business as well as the legal requirements for marriage in the country that you plan to wed. Once you have decided that you want to get away to "tie the knot" destination style, where do you start? Well, you are in the right place.... Welcome to the Best Destination Wedding Website!

kate (lala) wrote down these ideas and i thought i would share them to hear your personal stories, additions, etc. Quote: Destination weddings are not a new trend. They are just a way for us, the “modern couple,†to have a wedding that reflects who we really are. We are couples who live five states away from our family. Our best friends live all across the globe. We live together, have homes together, and have children together. Our last “anniversary†was in the double digits. If we had a traditional wedding, what would that look like? The majority of people on the invite list would have to fly in from other states, other countries, and other continents. At the reception we would only get to spend a few hours with our friends and family. The next day, we might see a few of them at brunch for another hour. And that’s it. The wedding would be over and our favorite people in the world would fly back to their own lives. The DW gives us many full days and nights to spend with those who traveled so far to share our special day. We get to meet up for breakfast, go on tourist excursions, relax by the pool, and enjoy spa treatments together. It’s not just a celebration of two people getting married – it’s a celebration of each and every person who knows us, loves us, and got us to the alter in the first place.

well it is artichoke season and i love them steamed with mayo and lemon and also love to marinate then roast them in olive oil, garlic, thyme, and lemon but doing it this way can be time consuming. any other ideas for artichokes. christa, i know this is your expertise.

thanks everyone...normally i would tackle it but i have "pregnancy brain"...my brain is fried...the other day i asked DH if we were going to get our little guy "castrated"...he got a horrified look on his face and asked "dont you mean circumcized?" oops.

great ladies.. what i am looking for is a 3-4 paragraph about why destination weddings are the new trend and why you chose to have one....i am looking for a fun, hip article and will most likely piece multiple people together unless someone want to just do the whole thing. we were asked as a forum to submit an article in this high end magazine and it would be great for BDW
