Hi Lisa, I think I know what review you are talking about (an audio company?) I have had vendors ask to remove a review but I tell them it is something they should work out with the client that wrote the review. They should look at what their client has faults with and try to fix the problem, not hide the review. Vendors cannot delete their reviews BUT if the writer of the review asks to delete it, it can be done as a courtesy. in this case, the person that wrote it asked to delete the review (just like you have asked multiple times to delete posts that you have made). ps. I also wanted to comment that some of your comments are very divisive and abrasive. Like you tend to see the bad in every situation before getting the full story. An example is a post you wrote about a wedding vendor. Then negative posts about hotels. You have then asked me to delete your posts but the truth is, the damage has been done to the vendors that you wrote badly about (even if you were mistaken then want the post taken down). I have also had complaints about your posts. Have you thought about maybe reading what you write before you post?

Kat, how did you block the rooms? Through an agent? Directly with the resort? Have you thought about asking if they will honor for the 7 rooms? I know in the past AMResorts has honored the group rate for 6 rooms. It is not a guarantee that they will do it and is up to the resorts discretion on whether or not they agree BUT there is no harm in asking. We have done it for our clients.

online payments usually do take the payment from the credit cards so it is the same information that is being given (ie name, credit card number, expiration, etc). Do they just not want to fill out the form/fax and instead fill out a website with their payment information?

I have sent the General Manager this thread so he can keep up with the issues. You should also have your TA send an email to the resort as well.

Our agency is also a GI certified as well as being Diamond level 5 (Karisma's top award). We offer concierge like services ie. arranging transfers, private transfers, we know wedding vendor very well (i have a bunch reviewd on bw!), assist when the wedding department is not responding fast enough, negotiate group and wedding amenities, assist in any travel related material.

I think -Yarai Peregrino from Memories Weddings and Events is awesome! I met her for lunch a couple of weeks ago. She used to be the WC at Dreams and if you do a search for her name, you can read some feedback about her. She has great relationships with the resorts, locations, vendors. She is not only a friend but she was the WC for my friends wedding which was beyond fabulous. Suzanne Morel is a makeup artist. I did not realize she went into the wedding planning side.

You have many choices. You DO NOT have to do a group block but if you do not, you will not get any amenities that are negotiated into the group contract AND you are not holding rooms for your guests or securing the rate. If you guests are willing to book now, and the resort is not offering many group amenities, it may be worth it to consider booking individually but you will need to weight the pros and cons of a group vs. booking individually.

Every resort sets different penalties and deadlines and some are much more flexible than others. It is one of the things we explain to our clients when they are narrowing down their choices. Can you tell us what resort you are working with and we might be able to tell you if they are standard restrictions or not.

One thing you might try is to get 2 rooms and have them be adjoining rooms so they are connected. then you have the 2 bathrooms, more space, etc. it is not saving much money by squeezing into a triple occupancy. sometimes it is just a saving of $5-10 per night and it is not comfortable.

Hi Ladies, I was just at Dreams on wednesday and met with the General Manager, Shantal, Angel, etc. They do have some new wedding coordinators to help with the work load but I also sent the GM this thread and they are monitoring it if you are having issues.

Our agency is planning an agency site visit in the next couple of months. You really can't get any accurate reviews because when AMResorts open a new resort they usually do a very large renovation, change restaurants, etc. We are one of AMResorts top agencies and have visited almost all of their resorts and one of the great thing about them is that there is a consistency in their service levels, food quality etc. We just got back (yesterday) from visiting all their resorts in cabo.
