Both can act quickly (less than 24 hours) if you have an already established relationship. i feel ya...we made an offer on a $930,000 house that was a total gut job and it had 3 offers...we didn't get it. all you can do is just be aggressive, maybe have your agent hit old listings taht were pulled off the market to see if owners will still sell...if their is a neighborhood you like a letter to each homeowner might not be a bad idea...i've found houses for 2 clients that way (i used to be in real estate)

i answered below...i make information sheets when my clients ask for it but usually they have websites with information on the resort, area, etc. Quote: Originally Posted by foxytv I'm curious as to what i can expect from my TA as our DW date draws near. She email me copies of all the guest invoices(which is nice to have so I know everyone's travel dates) but also asked that I send them out and f/u since our payments are due next week. this is really weird...the only time the bride and groom knows about their guests making payments is when. a. their guests have gone MIA and are not responding to me or b. they booked their guest (like their parents) and wanted to handle all the travel arrangement for their guests. Anyway -- maybe a lot of this is normal. I don't mind most of it ... but I wish she was doing more of the interacting with the guests instead of always contacting me. Maybe I should be grateful that I am so kept in the loop? i keep them in the loop other ways like spreadsheets of who has booked, emails about who called for info and did not book and why, etc.

Mexico City Hotels/Resorts At-a-Glance

this was written by another travel agent that I admire and respect. Quote: I am a travel agent. I'm sometimes called a travel counsellor, or a travel professional. I use my knowledge of destinations, resorts, escorted tours, cruise ships, air travel and attractions to 'counsel' clients on the best choices for their vacation dreams, desires and budgets. As a travel agent, I add value. Think of me as you would an accountant or a real estate agent. You can file your own tax return, but those who choose to use an accountant do so because they recognize that specialized knowledge pays off. The same goes for a real estate agent. You can sell your house without an agent, but most don't, because the absence of that knowledge can result in major problems. While my role is to match up clients with travel products, it's always your interests I represent. If anything goes wrong with your trip, I'm there for you. Your time is precious. You have choices today. You can research and book your trip online. You might even save a couple of dollars. If you're just booking a flight from point A to point B, or a car rental, or a hotel room, go ahead and book online. I won't be offended. You might find that it takes longer than you expected to find the 'best price' and if your flight is oversold or cancelled you'll be on your own. but if you're a gambler the odds are pretty good you'll be OK. When it comes to your hard-earned vacation time, I will passionately defend the value of my services. That shiny brochure with the golden bodies sitting around a glistening pool doesn't always tell the whole story. I might know that the pool is under renovation, the rooms are tired and dated, that on the particular week of your holiday the place will be packed with drunken college kids. That might matter to you. That might even be worth many times the small fee I charge for my services. Benefit from my knowledge. My knowledge offers other benefits. The concierge who can arrange tickets to anything. That wonderful little restaurant tucked away in a side street. The seat on the plane with that extra legroom. These are the kinds of things I learn through my travels and studies. I'm thrilled to share them with you. I am a travel agent. This is how I make my living, but I won't get rich doing this. That's not my motivation. I love to travel, see new places, meet new people, enjoy new sensations. More than anything, I love the feedback from clients that my knowledge, care and attention helped them creat lasting memories. That's worth a lot to them. What is it worth to you?

This makes total sense since she's gone from being an indoor/outdoor cat to strictly indoors. I asked if she would like to go outside on a leash (the only way we can do it right now) and she said "oh, like the dog? we could try that as long as you don't have to carry me to get there" Interesting. I asked Dawn to reassure my cat that we will be moving in about 4 months to a place where she can go outside. Her reply was "that's great, but I'm going to be like this for the next 4 months." LOL! We also talked about food & she said that Brittany likes her food, but she just wants more of it, that she is never satisfied. We also talked about the excessive self grooming & scratching & she said that basically she's just bored. We had tons of time left so I had her talk to our dog who said that she is very happy & loves her family. The only thing is that she doesn't like where we live because she hears sounds of other people all around us & it stresses her out because she doesn't know what is "her territory." She told Dawn that she knows we'll be moving soon, so she's looking forward to that. We also asked the dog about the cat & she said that the cat is ver "mean spirited." LOL! She says she's tried to extend friendship many times & only gets threats in return. So true. Anyway, it was very interesting & it all made a lot of sense. christa, that is so great...it made sense to me as well...i like that she can communicate with the animals so you can reassure them. and it is nice to know that the problems are fixable.

Thanks!!! they pretty much are the best bang for you buck..you are paying more for the set up, private event than the food... for the reception it is $25 per person for a 4 course meal or buffet and this includes and open bar.

extra charges at the Dreams

Quote: I am curious as to this too because we are considering Dreams in Cabo. So, that I am not confused, the first 20 people are included in that price and it is an extra $25 per person after those 20 people. Also if I have 6 people in my wedding party and he has 6 people, those 12 plus us 2 are an exception to those 20? Sorry, I am just confused! no they are not an exception...usually the 20 people would cover bride and groom, wedding party and a few family/friends...any over 20 is extra -
welcome...there are a bunch of cabo brides on here...what are you looking for?

Kiki, the cost I was quoted was $800 for the setup and the people to work the tables. I guess they set up like 3 or 4 different games. Leia, have you chosen a location to do it? I'm debating whether to just have a welcome dinner too, so that way the waitstaff would be around to serve drinks. Not sure yet though. smaller bottles of tequilla are good prixes spa certificate -
Don't know what to do about travel?!?

i hope your friend has not joined the travel agent pyramid like ytb..if so those "agents" rarely know anything about booking travel. ive never heard of them doing AI at those resorts...sometimes they will go a food credit though -
Dreams Casino Night on the Beach?

i had it at oceana terrace with my welcome dinner... it was fun but have prizes to make it more competetive and don't let the kids play and take over the table like they did at mine....maybe have cigars also to make it really fun.
