hayley, what information are you looking for? honestly between this forum and an outside wedding coordinator you should be able to get most of your questions answered. also with food tastings, did you set up an appointment and a menu? i have never heard of them just forgetting? also, if you have an outside WC why isnt she helping with this? confirming, etc.

the truth of the matter is that she did create fake accounts and pretend to be a bride. that goes against the rules and is so wrong...it pretty much negates any few positive experiences others may have had. because of her behavior ALL posts about her will be deleted. she will NOT be allowed to advertise or benefit from this forum unless she emails me with an explanation AND an apology on why she did what she did. -
Hi Jillian, if you have 30-35 rooms i would def. consider a room block, even if it is just for say 20-25 rooms. room blocks are great because it guarantees that you are allotted x-amount of rooms and they are held for you at a group rate...if you are really on top of it (like ann and paul) you may get away with not having to do a group block BUT you do risk the chance of the resort booking up (and june is a very popular time to go to RM). with most group blocks, your dates are very flexible when your guests can stay and groups get VIP treatment as well as priorities in case the resort oversells and people have to be moved to other locations. i would use a TA than negotiate with the resort directly..TA's can usually match or beat the rate given by the resort and then you can also use the TA for other services (air tickets, transfers, activities). also, if you have an issue with the resort the TA will be your advocate. i myself do not work with iberostar but TA jennifer does...

ok, this has been discussed at length in other posts so i will be brief. there are pros and cons to doing a group block: pros: the rooms are blocked off for your guests. this is important if you book at a resort that is very popular. i have a wedding that did not do a group block and only about 1/2 the guests were able to secure rooms. the rooms at blocked at a set rate. your guests can make payments instead of paying in full at once there are usually perks associated with a group block: free site visit, upgrades, free events, VIP status. cons: you need to put $$ deposit upfront to secure the rooms. there are penalties if you do not book x-amount of rooms out of all the groups i have done (and i have done alot) i have only had 1 bride/groom penalized for not fullfilling the group cpntract terms. this was 100% their fault as they chose to hold the unused rooms they had until the end instead of releasing them (their friends and family promised that they would book but ended up not booking). even though this was their fault, i was able to get the resort to waive the penalty. i have not had a group yet :knock on wood: pay a big penalty like the one you posted above. -

ok ladies...i promise that i will post updates as i get them. brooke and trish...i did tell the resort you guys are a package deal so i am sure if you have to get moved it will be together as one big group. the lady i work with is actually really close friends with one of the higher-ups at dreams tulum so they have been keeping us updated and i hope to have some sort of answer tomorrow or wednesday at the latest...

does anyone have access to a Crate and Barrel, CB2 and/or Pottery Barn employee discount or some other discount? i need to get a bunch of new furniture...any help would be greatly appreciated...pm me if you have an employee discount.
