  1. i just wanted to remind everyone that solicitations by vendors AND brides are not allowed. It is so innapropriate to pm/email a member about a vendor that you are using unsolicited. I have received dozens of pms from members that were uncomfortable because they were solicited by another member/vendor and they did not know how to handle it. there is no warning on this matter. if you solicit, you are banned.
  2. great review tara. i feel the same way about dreams...it isnt the fanciest resort in cabo but so fun and so perfect for a group event.

  16. tara, i hate to negate your review but i have to say that what you are complaining about in terms of service is a little self-centered and selfish...and i really hope you do not take this wrong because i know you are a super nice person but i really think that when it is our wedding brides have a very "its my day" mentality and think that everyone else should cater to them. there are actually reasons why the resort wants you to have private events for big groups. even though to you it sounds reasonable that you should get a table for 27 people at one of their smaller restaurants, it actually isn't fair to the rest of the resort guests. big groups tend to stay longer at the table and then they will not have enough seatings to accomodate other guests. i know that you think 35-40 whatever number of guests you have is alot but really that is a very small percentage of guests staying at the resort...probably less than 10% so it really isnt fair to the other 90% of hotel guests to not be able to eat at the restaurant because your group monopolized it. again, if you really wanted to eat together with almost 30 guests and you wanted to sit at the same table, etc. you really should have paid for a private event. same thing with the guest passes and people that were not guests at the resort. if i was staying at the resort and a bunch of people that did not belong there came and took up the lounge chairs, caused the restaurants to be full, cause bar service to be slow i would be PISSED...that is why they have the high and strict day pass rules. your 35-40 guests should not lessen the experience of the other 300-400 guests at the resort. the stuff about the hotel room and ac not working, i would def. have complained and gotten a room change or insisted on some sort of discount.
  17. i got something like this too but my ended with us getting the good pot grown in humboldt and the blue states getting the yucky brown weed

  21. 3 Italian hot sausages, casings removed 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (about 3 ounces) 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, room temperature 1 large egg yolk Olive oil 24 large (about 2-inch-diameter) mushrooms, stemmed 1/3 cup dry white wine Sauté sausage and oregano in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat until sausage is cooked through and brown, breaking into small pieces with back of fork, about 7 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer sausage mixture to large bowl and cool. Mix in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder, then cream cheese. Season filling with salt and pepper; mix in egg yolk. Brush 15x10x2-inch glass baking dish with olive oil to coat. Brush cavity of each mushroom cap with white wine; fill with scant 1 tablespoon filling and sprinkle with some of remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Arrange mushrooms, filling side up, in prepared dish. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.) Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake uncovered until mushrooms are tender and filling is brown on top, about 25 minutes.
  22. the artichoke dip i posted takes about 30 mins. a good cheese platter with some salami, prosciutto is easy. get some great olives from gourmet shop or something. hummus and pita chips, veggies always a winner. there is a sausage stuffed mushroom recipe on here that everyone raves about. we make it every thanksgiving now. or if you have it, cheese fondue is VERY easy and yummy...add heartier dippers than just bread like pieces of sausage, blanched veggies.
