  1. is it that the resort will not do a wedding on sunday or there is not a sunday available...? 2 very different things. most resorts will have a wedding on sunday but it is finding a sunday open that is hard.
  2. I have been meaning to post this for months but the swine flu issue has finally motivated me. My sister is getting married at the Four Seasons The Biltmore Santa Barbara this fall. Mariposa Garden: North patio: Escala Garden: I'll post more info as i get it.
  3. alrighty...today is the deadline. i will start manually removing sigs, links etc. tonight.
  4. hey all, BDW forum is now on twitter. Here is the address if you want to follow us. I will try to update often with some of the hottest topics on BDW. add us! Best Destination (BDWForum) on Twitter
  5. i did...i posted about it and put together a spreadsheet because i was also doing shirts/tanks so girls got one type of shirt and of course different sizes and boys another. i also did those hats for the guys going deep sea fishing...they are normally like $20-30 each but i found them in vietname for $2.50 each.
  6. great review...i'll look at pics now. i am so happy that the vendors worked out for you.
  7. we got married legally a few months before at city hall so i could get on his insurance right away...saved us about $1100 because then i did not have to pay for my own insurance any longer. usually they want the legal docs but ask his HR person exactly what he needs.
  8. zorlack, there have been some complaints about your post. consider this your warning.
  9. there have actually been a few brides that have problems with sunquest even before this. they tend to arbitrarily cancel flights at their discretion and can do so because they are charter flights.
  10. I know Kara posted about her wedding being cancelled because of this issue but i did not want to hijack her thread. Quote: Travel Advisory for Mexico April 28, 2009 We appreciate that our customers are concerned about travelling to Mexico at this time due to the cases of Human Swine Influenza. The Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the Public Health Agency of Canada, have now issued a travel warning against all non-essential travel to Mexico. Therefore, Sunquest has taken the decision to not operate our programs to Mexico, effective immediately, however at present we plan to resume our operations after June 4, 2009. The following policy will apply to all Sunquest Mexico bookings between April 28 and June 4: For those passengers departing from now to June 4, 2009 (inclusive): You may change your booking to any other Sunquest destination, including the ALBATours Italy program, for travel anytime up to Oct. 31, 2009; You can cancel your booking and receive a travel credit for the amount, which must be used before Oct. 31, 2009 to any destination Sunquest or ALBA offers.(Due to availability of programs, Dec. 15 for Western Canada, Atlantic Canada passengers will also be given extensions); You must pay any price difference if the cost is higher; There will be no refund for any difference in rates if the cost is lower; Travel must be commenced by the end of October 31, 2009; These changes must be made through our call centres We recommend that customers also check with their travel insurers, as you may have coverage for this type of incident. We will continue to monitor this situation and will keep you advised. We would ask those who are travelling on later departure dates to be patient as this situation evolves. Please note, we will continue to operate our flights to collect all passengers currently in Mexico. We will advise if there are any changes by our airline partners. Thank you, Sunquest check their website for more info
  11. bump again...there are about 40 vendors that are on regularly but have not chosen which membership to do... On May 1, we will start deleting sigs, links, andy business references, etc. of vendors that are not compliant.
  12. hi martin, thanks for letting us know...only a few more days until the changeover. tammy
  13. welcome..i was in sf now marin...
  14. my SIL was at the wedding...will need to get dirt from her.
  15. playa fiesta is a good option but there are alot of restrictions so you have to be careful about that....like everyone has to book a minimum number of nights, non-refundable deposit, etc... i knew someone that had to cancel their wedding a few months in advance and they lost a huge deposit. if you want cabo there is cabo surf and alot of smaller resorts as well the only thing is i am really a advocate for AI for group trips, weddings...it makes things so much easier and more enjoyable.
  16. great review and beautiful pics...the black and white one is amazing and def. a framer!!
  17. bump for all vendors...we will be removing links/siggies of vendors not in compliance this week.

My fiance Matt and I are pretty sure we want to get married in Mexico but we're having a REALLY hard time deciding where. Originally, we thought Cancun or Riviera Maya because we LOVE the tropical climate but since we're from San Francisco, we thought it may be better and easier to do Cabo or Puerto Vallarta because they're so much closer. We're still not sure though because we really want those balmy evenings that come with a tropical climate and we're not sure Cabo or PV would be warm enough. I love how Cabo is only about 2.5 hours away though, and it has SOOOOOOO many options compared to PV. I would love your insight! How did you all pick Cabo for your wedding location? Did you have a hard time deciding between Cabo and somewhere else? If so, what were your other options and what were your priorities? Oh yeah and for those of you who have been to Cabo, how cold does it get at night in May/June? We need to narrow it down to an area soon since we would like to get married next May or June so I'm really looking forward to hearing about your experiences! -Jen Hi Jen, I am also from San Francisco (or was when i got married)...when we were trying to pick a location, we wanted somewhere hot, somewhere DH and friends could surf. Cabo was the perfect choice for us because: flights were cheap and short from SFO. this made a huge difference for those travelling with kids. weather was HOT...it does get very balmy there. especially in the summer. if you want it hot and balmy try may, jun, july, october wedding date...if you want it SUPER HOT...august, september. Dreams Cabo i think does the best weddings of all the dreams resorts. they have a stellar wedding dept. and very reasonable wedding packages. You get alot for your $$ in terms of wedding costs. that being said, PV is also a great choice because the rooms at Dreams PV are about $100-150 less a night than dreams cabo. Their wedding department is a little more difficult to work with (alot of turnaround, they haven't really hiot their stride) but the resort is very nice. The flights are almost twice as long though.
  19. as a TA, i really prefer when people send me a great referral or reference that I can use in the future. i have gotten some great, sweet gifts but i hate for people to waste their time or $$.
  20. bump...in about a week we will go through all accounts to make sure they are in compliance. those not in compliance will have their siggy removed and all reference to their business removed. vendors/businesses rules applies to ANYONE who is promoting a business on the forum wedding related or not.
