i was going to say the same thing as ann...you have a better chance being upgraded if you have a special membership status with the airline than if you were getting married, on honeymoon etc.

jamy is right that deposits are non-refundable. as much as it sucks that he did not return your deposit, he is also out some $$. The whole swine flu issue has had alot of victims on both sides, brides not being able to have the wedding of their dreams AND vendors that are losing ALOT of $$. i think maybe you thought you would get some of your $$ back because some of the vendors on this forum have graciously offered to return deposits for brides that had no choice but to cancel/relocate (like moments that matter) but you have to realize that these vendors are going above and beyond and should be commended for their actions, while vendors like carlos are just doing the what is best for them. Just another reason why people should book BDW vendors. These vendors are on here and really want good reviews from BDW members so they usually do the right thing.

it is sort of like facebook where you can add friends and allow them to view certain blogs, etc. Social networking functionality will allow your users to quickly and safely make connections and form relationships. Member profile pages are extended to include an enhanced buddy system, visitor tracking, blog integration and a comment system.

the esperanza is a gorgeous property and does amazing weddings. unfortunately for most people it is out of their price range for a larger DW as the rooms are pretty expensive....it is perfect for a honeymoon or smaller DW if everyone can afford to stay there.

to go against what morgan has said, i think it is more than just advertising. Dreams and riu have facilites set up to do weddings 9gazebos, seperate catering dept.). like they have gazebos, a dedicated wedding department. They are also all-inclusive and that is what alot of DW brides and grooms are looking for. Also, along with resorts like palace resorts they offer "free" weddings and will handle arranging the legal or symbolic ceremony. also, villa del arco is mostly eropean plan. they do have an all-inclusive plan but it is more than what you would pay at dreams. I think another thing to keep in mind is that people that have their wedding at dreams or riu tend to have a great review upon their return and write about it. a good review says alot more than any paid advertisement.

short answer: yes, you are being selfish. TTCing is not a joke and not always an option for a person to wait. some people spend years TTCing and cannot get pregnant. why don't you hold off on your wedding until your friend is done TTCing, having the baby, and nursing, etc...?

invitations are expensive...at least ours were so no we did not send them to everyone. we did send them to family and close friends but if co-workers/acquantances already told me they were not going to make it, i didn't send them an invite.

bumping this contest...a great way to get referrals is if you see a DW bride on tripadvisors that is lost and clueless looking for wedding reviews...

weather is great in nov. cabo doesnt really have a hurricane season like cancun. cancun weather is more humid as cabo is in the dessert. very little rain in cabo. cabo is more expensive than cancun and pv. and yes, most of the beaches are not swimmable...the ones that are, are not like the beaches in jamaica or cancun area.
