  1. you need to host them somewhere and then use the IMG tag or the icon that looks like a mountain and insert the url of pic.
  2. and i wanted to add that you have to be really careful about postings on CL.. yesterday in the new there was an woman 8 months pregnant that went to pick up some used baby clothes and she was killed and her baby was cut out of her and died as well. also, haven't you seen any of those "forensic files", "CSI: Miami" or even "Walker Texas Ranger" episodes about the serial killers that pose as photogs to do free boudoir/model shots.
  3. i have been biting my tongue but had to respond. is this the same photog that you found on CL offering free boudoir services? a random guy asking women to pose semi-nude for them for FREE? that right there is a huge red flag. then when you get there, no contract, no list of what you can expect to get in terms of number of shots/proof/turnaround time? red flag #2 boudoir, wedding, newborn, etc. shots are so important that why risk using someone like this. in this case, you really get what you pay for.
  4. great review...i am glad you loved all your vendors. i added breaks and bolded titles to make it easier to read. hope you don't mind.
  5. welcome jennifer...mango weddings is a great choice for photography. they have had some great reviews on here. for flowers i would also say florenta...their ad is on the top right side....cake, it depends on how elaborate you want to get...
  6. Michael Maurus sent me an email asking to post his side of the story. here it is: ============== Dear board members, many of our satisfied and happy clients, who are also members of this board made us aware of Michelle's post and we would like to use this opportunity to clarify her accusations. As much as we understand and feel for Michelle that she had the problem with her hairdresser and about everybody else at the resort, we can not accept her comments. Michelle hired us for a 3 hour coverage of her wedding day which should have ended just during sunset. Due to her being late because she was very unhappy and frustrated with her make up and hairdresser and had them re-do it over and over again, she missed the best light of the day for her photos. As much as we sympathize with her for that lost opportunity, she obviously has chosen us to vent her frustration and anger. Please see below photos for explanation. This is the light when the wedding should have been and the groom is waiting. This is the light when Michelle finally arrived after having had her hair and make up re-done. Of course resulting in a dark background during the ceremony. We agreed to do another shoot the next day with her and David....... Again, thank you very much for letting us tell our side of the story. Have a great weekend. Kind Regards Michael Maurus Photographer/Studio Owner

  9. no, i am protected from taking the thread down. he can file a suit if he wants. he isnt the first vendor to threaten a lawsuit against BDW. once they contact an attorney they usually drop any ideas of a suit. i wish i could sue everyone that said something i didn't like...how awesome would that be? "what did you say about my shoes?...bam, see you in court!"
  10. i also just wanted to post a heads up that Michael Maurus did contact me and wants this thread removed or he has threatened legal action against the OP and third parties (i don't think he understands internet laws very well). when will vendors ever learn...threatening legal action for a review made against them is never the right approach. it just gives them more negative publicity.

  12. heather, are you having any sort of ceremony or reception at dreams? when you say you aren't booking a package are you going a la carte or booking your own vendor? if you are doing any sort of ceremony or private event there will be a charge whether or not you choose a package...the deposit could be to hold locations, etc.
  13. regarding outside vendor policy: more info here:http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t37967-2 they are going to implement an outside vendor policy. it is because dreams wants to maintain a certain level of excellence regarding their weddings. it is really hard to do that if they have to work with vendors that they have never worked with or do not have the best reputation. what they are going to do is have a "preferred vendor list". to have your vendor get on that list, they need to contact the dreams wedding dept. and fill out the necessary forms, qualify etc. they will also be told the procedures at the resort, etc. those vendors that do not want to be on the "preferred vendor list" will have to pay a fee. this is because it does take extra effort and man-power to work with a vendor that is not familiar with the resort.
  14. i wanted to bump this for christa as she is in the composting club now.
  15. i just wanted to let people know that i contacted chrystal because i had a feeling something was wrong. she has a stellar reputation and always gets back to people so quickly. it turns out she is actually in the hospital. she should be out soon but the gal covering for her did say there was a mix up with the post office.
  16. of course use a TA...i can usually match or beat orbitz's price!! not only that but your guests that may not be as techy have a person to contact that knows your wedding details, etc. also, when you book a group with a TA it is much easier to negotiate perks because you have a number of bookings made in one place to use as leverage.
  17. bumping for the newbies...i have had people email and pm me about how to get a hold of certain TA's.
  18. TA dina is in new jersey i think and specializes in Dominican republic.
  19. Hi Joanna, sorry for what you are going through. I really have to echo what TA Maureen said above. Destination Weddings are a totally different "animal" than regular wedding travel. Alot of times you are dealing with MANY bookings at once (once STD are sent or deadlines come up I get like 20 emails/calls a day from guests all waiting to the last minute to book), many different personalities, family dynamics, etc. From what you described it sounds like you got horrible customer service. Yes, mistakes happen but it is how a person handles the mistakes that really shows their true character. I would write down all your complaints with dates, what was promised but never followed through with, what you want done with deadlines and send it to your TA as well as their manager. Let them respond back with what they are going to do... an example: if i had a client this disgruntled and they said, i want docs by tomorrow noon and i knew that was unreasonable, i would say "i can't get you your docs by noon tomorrow but am working hard to get them and hope to have them to you by x-date" and then follow through with them.
  20. salomeh, if you want to add a review on marcos, send it to me via pm and i will add it to your original post.
  21. also sunbride...i am pretty good about standing up for honest reviews...most posts that are removed are done so because the poster asked us to remove them. i have had many vendors threaten legal action against me and the forum for reviews made by other people but luckily the forum is protected by law from these types of lawsuits.
  22. hey ladies, we will let you guys share that you sell this product on this thread only but if you want to advertise/market it anywhere else on the forum (siggy, other threads, etc.) you will need to get a vendor membership. thanks, tammy Quote: Originally Posted by ACA Amy This is such a great product!
