I know TA Jill and TA Maureen have explained the group booking process and i do not want to "kick a person while they are down" but I just want to explain for future brides, expecting the hotel to be wide open and have your guests book 3 months before your wedding date is not a very good idea. you are really risking this the hotel or flights being sold out. If you have people that are last minute bookers or you are slow to send out your STD or invitations it is a really good idea to inquire about blocking rooms. even if the blocked room rate is not as low as the current package rate, at least you know you have enough rooms for your guests. also, as the resort books up, room rates go up so blocking rooms at $250 early on will look like a great rate when the hotel only has 10 rooms left at $600 a night (and i have seen this happen...we blocked rooms at $290 a night and 5 months before the wedding the hotel was almost sold out and the same rooms were asking $1200 a night!). It really is why having a destination wedding specialist, like the ones here on BDW, is the best way to go.

Good Luck, keep us posted! i would not recommend having the rest of your guests book online because rooms booked outside of the group contract do not count towards your freebies (free upgrades, free nights), instead i would try really hard to negotiate more of your rooms at a lower rate. this actually happens quite a bit where the hotel will try to strong arm you into just booking the more expensive rooms. if you have a ta have them be really firm to secure some more less expensive rooms for you.

RECEPTION LOCATIONS Beach Reception The beach receptions are available at NOW Riviera Cancun; the set up is with round tables for maximum 10 people, in case of rain the backup would be one of the Ballrooms depends the size of the group. When it is a group for more than 50 people the service on the beach will be buffet style. Restaurant Receptions NOW Riviera Cancun has 5 restaurants where the dinner could take place and if you want a group wedding dinner there, it is possible to reserve an area in one of the restaurants; for 10 people maximum there is not extra fee involved, but for bigger groups you should pay an additional fee for set up and service $20.00 USD per person and a pre selected menu should be established. It is very important to let you know that our specialties restaurants have their own themed ambience for that reason and for respect to the other guests dinning there, dancing and music are not allowed. And also if you decide have dinner in one of those restaurants the dinner should be at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Since we need to give service to the rest if the guests of the resort. Private Terraces The hotel has 5 different outdoors locations where you can have your reception. We have a very nice Pool Terrace, Ocean Front Deck, Beach, Garden and Private Ocean View Room. If you get any of the packages these 4 locations are included with no extra cost for rent or set up. Ballroom NOW Riviera Cancun features a state-of-the-art brand new Ballroom for special events; it is absolutely an elegant and comfortable option for the wedding groups. The room will be assigned according with the number of guests attending to the banquet. Dinner Policies Wedding Dinner The hotel has different venues available to celebrate the wedding dinner; it may be outdoor or indoor with air conditioned depending on the preference of the wedding couple; however you should be informed about the hotel policies to use these facilities. It is important you know that special wedding menus should be served only for private events, all the couples getting the Eternity and Divine wedding package have this option available because their package includes dinner. When you decide that your wedding dinner is taking place in any of our restaurants it is necessary select a set menu from the carte. These policies are applicable not only for wedding dinner but also for any type of special dinners like rehearsal, bachelorette party, anniversaries, birthdays, etc... Group Dinner Reservation at the restaurants • For any of the restaurants more than 10 people will be considered as a group. • If any guest is interested in organizing a dinner in one of the restaurants for a group (over 10 people), a set up and service fee will apply, the price for this special service will be $20.00 USD per person. It will be necessary to select a set menu for all guests attending the dinner; the menu will be selected by the clients from the regular menu of the restaurant. This $20.00 USD charge does not guarantee that the restaurant will be closed exclusively for the group. Any dinner at the restaurants is allowed for maximum 35 guests and it should be 2 hours long. Ceremony Locations at NOW Riviera Cancun Beach, Garden , Pergola Deck, Fountain We have 4 different options for weddings at the property; the time is subject to availability. All the packages include the basic set up with covered chairs for the guests and table for the judge or minister. The backup in case of rain would be at one of the Ballrooms for up to 20 people and the rain plan is decided 3 hours before ceremony depending of the weather. It is totally optional for the wedding couple any of these locations Additional Information for Types of Ceremony • Religious ceremony is not legally valid, this is just symbolic ceremony. • For religious or non denominational wedding it is not necessary complete the legal requirements (blood test, translations, witnesses, etc…..) • If you would like to bring your own minister, it is fine there is not problem for non legal ceremonies. When it is a legal ceremony the judge must perform ceremony • The ceremony is the most important event, for that reason you feel free to add special moments along ceremony, it means that if you would like to have a reading poem, singer, pray or anything just let the coordinator know. • You also have the choice to bring your own music, if there is any specific song that you would like to play or any of your guests will play something for you, it is possible. The hotel could rent you a CD player only for ceremony and CD with wedding music in case you do not have any. • The hotel performs maximum 2 weddings per day and the times are subject to availability, all weddings should be in different time and in separated locations.

List of Legal Requirements For symbolic ceremonies the following list is not applicable, this list is only for legal marriage. In order to get legally married in Puerto Morelos, there are a few requirements you need to meet: Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive to Cancun 3 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count) The wedding coordinator must receive the following documents in order to start the corresponding application for a Wedding in the Civil Registry Office. Requirements: Tourist card (you will get them at your arrival to the Cancun airport). If bride or groom is divorced they should bring the original Birth Certificates with the stamp (Le Apostille) of the Registry of your Country. This document should be translated into Spanish and the cost is $50.00 USD +10% tax per each birth certificate, translation must be done here in Mexico, otherwise will not be valid. If Bride is divorced we will need copy of the Final Divorce Decree with the stamp (Le Apostille) of the Registry of your Country. This document should be translated into Spanish and the cost is $50.00 USD+ 10% tax per page, translation must be done here in Mexico, otherwise will not be valid. Valid Passports (This is essential, otherwise the wedding cannot be performed). The blood tests are taken in México; they are not valid if it is taken elsewhere. To be considered valid the test should not be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, RPR (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours together with a certificate of the blood test and the charge will be $250 USD+ 10% tax per couple to be paid directly to the doctor in cash the day when test is taken Another fee that you should consider the Judge’s transportation , they usually perform the civil ceremony in their office however is flexible to come to the resort if transportation is provided, the round trip from the city is $50 USD , this should be paid directly to the judge the wedding date or you can arrange this in advance through the wedding coordinator The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the 4 witnesses. The Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal form. The Marriage Certificate is valid in Mexico.You should present the certificate in you court house to get the validation once you get back home.

ok, here is my take on this thread. BDW mods and admin do NOT like to get involved in these types of transactions. when we get a complaint about a transaction, we tell the buyer to post something on the forum that their sale did not go as they had hoped. when a person posts their review of their item and then get attacked by others, that is when there is a problem. obviously tonir is not the only person unhappy with their purchase from cancunbride...another member posted that the item sold to them is not great. there is another member that is not happy with the items purchased and they have chosen not to post it on this thread. tonir and amygirl are allowed to state their experiences with cancunbride in the transactions between them. if YOU chose to still purchase from cancunbride, GREAT! its all about honest disclosure. now, i really hope some people settle down on this thread. if not, i am going to have to close this thread and disallow cancunbride any more sale threads to keep the drama to a minimum.
