Weather in Aruba in August?

My fiancé and I are getting married on Renaissance Island in Aruba on August 4, 2012. We've been to Aruba a number of times and the weather has been absolutely amazing. I heard through the grapevine though that the Island had horrific rains this past hurricane season. I know hurricane season spans from May to November, placing our wedding date smack dab in the middle. How concerned should I be? The main reason we choose a destination wedding was to ensure good weather. (We're from Boston where the weather can change hourly!) Does anyone know when the rains started this past year or how I could acquire that info? Thanks in advance for your help! Any advice from former August Aruban brides or Renaissance Island brides is welcomed too!!!!

Hello from a past  Renaissance bride! I got married in July and the weather was beautiful.  We chose Aruba because it's out of the hurricane belt so hopefully you will be okay. For the week we were on the island we had a few rain showers which lasted only a few minutes at a time. The day we were leaving, it rained most of the morning which was not very common.

Thank you for your reply! I'm so happy to hear you had a beautiful (and rain-free!) wedding on Renaissance Island. Juney just forwarded me info for his main vendors - Charlie the steel pan player, his main florist and DJ Tito. Did you use his vendors? Any tips? Thanks and congrats!

Hi KS!

I am also a Renaiisance bride in Auguest! My wedding is August 31, 2011. Don't worry about the weather....Aruba is outside the hurricane belt! I went there in August 2009 and not one rain dropm. I'm using the vendors Juney has recommended. Let me ask you  tho, who are you using for your videographer?? Juney recommended either George or Evita....I went with Evits but he doen't get back to Juney and its starting to worry me!

If you look at the info on the aruba travel sites, you will be reassured, they have very little rain throughout the year. I think the worst that can happen will be a sun shower. I've been searching online for reviews, I have yet to read about a bride that got caught in the rain in Aruba :)
