Just Booked Melia Caribe Tropical for Nov 2011!

Hello All!!

We just booked the Melia with our TA for November 17-24, 2011!! EEK! I'm so excited!

I also just sent back the information form to the wedding coordinator at the resort. Does any one know if I'm supposed to wait to hear back if the date I want is available before i send my deposit?

Any other brides out there booked for this resort for this time frame? Or any one how has gotten married their recently and has any tips or advise I would greatly appriciate any info you can send my way!!

Congrats to you! I am also getting married at the Melia Caribe Tropical that same weekend, Friday the 18th to be exact! If you are having a legal ceremony, you do have to wait for the WC to contact you with a confirmation. I received a call and email a few days ago....

Hi! I'm so happy to have found Nov 2011 Melia brides! I'm booked for the weekend of November 12th!!! Where have you decided to have the wedding and reception? We chose the garden gazebo and the tropical convention center.

 

I haven't paid the deposit yet. Tried yesterday but my bank needed Melia's address in Florida since that's where their bank account is. They needed the address that is linked to the account for security reasons. I'm not sure if your bank will/did require the same. I haven't been able to get the address from Melia yet - they just keep sending me the deposit information without that address. Anyway, something to look out for when making the deposit!

WOW! Good to see so many Alberta girls on here! And it's neat that we are at the same resort!

How long did it take the WC to get back to you girls about the date? I got an auto reply when I sent it (Dec 10) saying that she was out of the office till the 19th so now I'm getting impatient to hear back from her about our date confirmation.

 

Do you ladies have any thoughts about the photographer at the resort? It's the one that's called "Arrecife Melia Caribe" right? I added them as a friend on Facebook. I am not srue yet what we will be doing.

I heard back about the date right away but that was before the WC I'm dealing with (Laura) went on holidays. Maybe you should give them a call?

 

I think I'll be using Arrecife for videography but still deciding on the photographer.. we may be bringing one from Calgary (Bud Moore). I met him at a bridal show in Calgary - he has amazing passion for what he does and I'm positive the photos will turn out great. If you're interested, I could talk with him to see if we could share his costs.

 

Laura said that if you decide to use another local photographer in Punta Cana that isn't Arrecife, you may be charged a $1,000 copyright fee. If you bring one from home, the fee won't apply.

Hello ladies!

 

I am getting married at the Melia on Feb 20, 2011! It is so soon! I had no idea that so many girls were interested in the same resort!

are any of you getting a DJ? I was planning on just renting the speaker and bringing my i-pod, but have some problems with how to organize the music.. Like how would I play the correct song when cutting the cake and throwing the bouquet?

Anyway, as things wrap up I'll post more info!

They also do religious ceremonies.. I haven't looked into it myself but there is a bunch of information they send you in the info package.
