Although we ate going the untraditional route and doing a DW I'm still trying to keep some things traditional, like it bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her dress before te wedding. I can't wait to see FI's face when he first sees me in my dress walking down the isle and having no idea what to expect.

Lizzdee, I truly believe that you have to do what makes you feel more comfortable--and they may be completely different from any other bride. I'm more like Teira, I do not want him to see me in my dress until the wedding day. I just like the suspense of the whole idea.

Do what works for Lizzdee!

If thats what you want to do - you should do it.  Remember you are not being 'traditional' by having a DW but I think it depends how you would feel obvioulsy you are comfortable with it as the idea has already crossed your mind.  For me this is the only traditional thing we are really doing and I for once in my life want my FI to be wowed by how well I scrub up. lol.

I totally agree with the other Ladies, its your preference and you should do what you want to do, however I am wondering do you plan on bringing your mom as well, and what does she think about the idea?  I could see my mom being like oh no absolutely not he is not coming he shouldn't see you in it lol, which that is how I feel, I dont want him to see me in my dress until the day of so he gets that wow factor! I love the look on his face when he sees me all done up and dressed up and I really cant wait to see his face on our wedding day.

I agree with the other posts - do what makes you comfortable.  When I went dress shopping I was torn - I wanted my FI there to help me pick out the dress, I was so worried that he wasn't going to like what I picked. I also wanted that moment when he sees me for the first time in my dress.  In the end I decided that I wanted my FI to see my dress for the first time when I am walking towards him.

After a lot of consideration I took my FI with me to buy my wedding dress. and I am glad I did. He has a great taste and love shopping with me and for me. He is also very honest and always tell when something look good or bad on me. So my thought was, if he always go shopping with me and always make me feel beautiful then why not let him help me pick up the most important dress of my life. He is the #1  person I want to look beautiful for on our big day.

Now there is not question whether or not he loves the dress...lIt's just less stress :)

I think its totally a personal choice. There are a lot of brides now days that like to include their FI in choosing a dress. If thats something you would like then I say go for it! I don't think it will ruin the moment of him seeing you on your wedding day either. You will be completely done up on your wedding day and likely when you go dress shopping will be a year or so before your wedding so he'll probably hardly even remembe what the dress looks like.

Personally, it's a nay but I agree with everyone else...do things exactly how you want to. When I was shopping I saw tons of brides shopping with their fiances. Goes to show you that people more brides are doing things their way.

Whatever you decide, I hope your shopping experience is fabulous and you find the perfect one!
