Newbie - Getting Married Dreams La Romana 07/30/11!

Guess the title says it all.  I am making my way through the Dreams La Romana forum.  However, I haven't seen any current information on excursions and trips off the "compound" (aka resort).  I would really like some info on the artist colony, the cigar factory, restaurants (not in the resort), and other activities.  If you can point me to a forum or provide info, I would greatly appreciate it.
